GDF SUEZ was behind the 1993 creation of the GDF SUEZ Open, held at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris. It has become the great meeting ground for women's tennis in France, ranking among the top 20 international tournaments. Amélie Mauresmo, GDF SUEZ team ambassador, has won the GDF SUEZ Open three times and has been its co-director since 2011.

      From January 26 to February 3: the 21st GDF SUEZ Open at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris.

    • In 2012, young German player Angelique Kerber eliminated Maria Sharapova, Yanina Wickmayer and Marion Bartoli one after the other to consolidate her victory in the 20th edition of the GDF SUEZ OPEN.

    • For 20 years, GDF SUEZ has been supporting "women and sport", from training right up to top-level competition.

    • For 20 years, GDF SUEZ, with its tennis team, has been helping confirmed players give vent to all their talent, to become the champions of tomorrow.

    • Since 2011, the "Soirée d'Amélie" (Amélie's Evening) has been gathering together big-screen and tennis stars for friendly doubles matches during the GDF SUEZ Open, to raise funds for the benefit of the Institut Curie, sponsored by Amélie Mauresmo, tournament co-director.

    • Together with the French Tennis Federation, GDF SUEZ encourages young "women tennis players of tomorrow" via the GDF SUEZ Open.

    • The GDF SUEZ Open is also a chance to promote solidarity through sports, as in the demonstration of wheelchair tennis during the 2012 edition.

    • Russian champion Maria Sharapova is one of many top international players to have stepped into the courts of the GDF SUEZ Open.
