Current demographic changes are projected to lead to a massive increase in the world’s urban population. For this reason, several urban renovation projects are now under development in order to meet new environmental and social demands and ensure optimal living conditions.
ENGIE is integrating these new developments into its strategy by undertaking a structural reorganization of its businesses. In collaboration with specialists, such as architects, urban planners and sociologists, the Group is working to develop the city of tomorrow to meet social and environmental challenges.
Urban Strategy Council
To guide its actions, ENGIE works with the international and independent experts of the Urban Strategy Council, which established three priority issues at its first meeting in November 2012: governance and social problems; governance and institutions; governance, culture and assets.
