Women’s football

Actively involved in the development of women’s tennis, ENGIE also provides support for women’s and girls’ football. The Group has been the official partner to the women’s Olympique Lyonnais squad since 2011.

The club was crowned champions of the “Women’s Champion’s League” two years running in 2011 and 2012, and then for a third time in 2016, as well as making it to the final in 2010 and 2013. The club has also been the champion of the French D1 league for 10 consecutive years (2007-2016), and winner of the Coupe de France since 2012 (with 8 titles in total). Olympique Lyonnais shares the Group’s values of commitment, teamwork, and high standards. This commitment forms part of the policy cultivated by the Group to support women’s career development and promote diversity and equal opportunities.

Education and inclusion through football

ENGIE believes that as a vector for inclusion, education, and integration of the most vulnerable communities, sport is hard to beat. Thanks to its social and educational aspects, football can combat many kinds of discrimination and reduce inequality. The Group supports a wide range of educational initiatives and social projects involving the beautiful game.
