Exploring the geothermic well of Muara Laboh

Supreme Energy, partly owned by GDF SUEZ, has conducted the first exploration of the geothermal well of Muara Laboh on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.

The tests have revealed that the site has an estimated energy potential of 20 MW. Construction of the unit that will operate the site will begin in 2014, after a new phase of surveys. GDF SUEZ and its partners have two other geothermal projects on the island of Sumatra, one in Rajabasa and the other in Rantau Dedap.
