LNGeneration... bringing innovative LNG solutions to the retail market

Economical, eco-friendly and efficient, retail Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) - also known as delivered LNG - is attracting more and more industrial companies with no hook-up to the natural gas network. ENGIE Group subsidiary LNGeneration is now providing them with efficient and flexible delivered LNG services backed up by personalized support.

The retail LNG market may still be at the emergent stage, but it is a market of the future that ENGIE began serving as early as 2012. The ENGIE Group created LNGeneration in 2013 to deliver its ambition of becoming a leader in this market by 2020-2030. The goal for this new subsidiary company is to supply LNG to end-user customers, the majority of which are industrial companies not hooked up to the natural gas network.

Retail LNG... an economical, eco-friendly and flexible solution

LNG offers industrial customers many advantages. It gives them the ability to reduce their emissions very significantly: CO2 by 20%, particulates by at least 95%, NOx (nitrogen oxides) by at least 90%, and SOx (sulfur oxides) by at least 95%.

These environmental benefits, combined with its moderate cost, explain the diversification now being seen in the uses of retail LNG, which is no longer being used exclusively as an industrial fuel, but increasingly as a substitute for diesel in company vehicle fleets, ships and even trains.

It is also a solution that could be implemented very quickly. It took LNGeneration only six months to install its solution at Lactalis in Bouvron (Loire-Atlantique) to replace the heavy fuel oil that previously powered the plant, 18 months ahead of its connection to the GrDF gas supply network. Once the network connection is in place, the installation will be dismantled and used for another project.

A comprehensive range of support services for delivered LNG

Tanker deliveries, LNG storage and regasification facility construction, and installation monitoring and maintenance... LNGENERATION offers companies a comprehensive range of support services for delivered LNG. A dedicated business manager also works alongside customers from the point of project startup, and personally supervises the installations using a remote monitoring system.

The Sofral plant makes the switch to retail LNG thanks to LNGeneration

The Sofral plant specializes in animal feed production. Not being hooked up to the natural gas network, it has used propane up until now. The services offered by ENGIE Group subsidiary LNGeneration have made it possible for the plant to switch to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
