What You Can Expect
As the Tax Analyst II you will bring tax expertise to the retail energy business unit by researching and applying tax law and regulation in a variety of business situations. You will also employ business communication skills and judgment to resolve tax exemption discrepancies and answer customer inquiries. In this position you will manage the accurate and timely review and application of customer tax exemption documentation, exemption-related refunds, and tax reporting.
Every day you will perform transaction tax research concerning the taxability of electricity usage for customers located in multiple jurisdictions and validate exemptions claimed. Additionally, you will calculate and apply tax exemption adjustments and submit for approval, as required and according to company Delegation of Authority policies.
- Review and approve submitted Commercial and Industrial customer tax exemption documents – ensure documents are stored in compliance with data retention policies and laws
- Maintain clear, thorough documentation with supporting tax research for all tax adjustments and complete assignments timely
- Provide tax guidance to field offices, Business Control, and third-party vendors regarding the applicability of state and local sales & use tax rules to specific fact patterns and work with them to resolve transaction tax issues
- Assist with any required reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts
- Act as a team member with all employees of ENGIE North America
- Comply with all ENGIE North America policies and procedures
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant retail energy industry experience, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Solid software skills in Microsoft Office, General Ledger software, Retail Billing software, and Tax Research software
- Strong accounting skills

Compensation
Salary Range: $62,400 – $95,450 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
