The Role:
Excellent opportunity! At Simply Energy we are seeking for a Senior Compliance Officer to assist the Compliance Manager in managing compliance activities relating to the Simply Energy business, including the Simply Energy Solutions (SES) emerging technology business.
The role is accountable to the Compliance Manager and the incumbent can work flexibly from home and from our Southbank office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Compliance Manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures for managing compliance across the Simply Energy and Simply Energy Solutions (SES) businesses.
- Identify process improvements to continually improve detection and management of compliance issues impacting Simply Energy
- Contribute to managing and maintaining the compliance framework that addresses all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support business unit quality assurance and compliance processes. Lead compliance improvement projects where identified and required. Conduct business as usual compliance risk assessments of new and current business unit processes.
- Monitor and report on the ongoing compliance by Simply Energy with relevant regulatory requirements, including issues arising in relation to insourced activities and outsourced sales and operational channels.
- Contribute to engagement between Simply Energy and relevant regulators, including the Australian Energy Regulator, Victorian Essential Services Commission, the Economic Regulation Authority Western Australia and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. This may include assisting with privacy and Australian Consumer Law issues from time to time.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have comprehensive experience gained from working in a highly regulated industry, preferably within the retail energy industry. You will be able to identify, analyse and address compliance issues and develop detailed knowledge of the regulations applicable.
You will have an understanding of AS/ISO 31000 & AS/ISO 19600
You will possess strong communication skills and can work both autonomously and collaboratively with others.
