Climate Week NYC 2019

Speakers expected at Climate Week 2019 include Mette Frederiksen, the Danish Prime Minister; Carlos Alvarado Quesada, President of Costa Rica; Isabelle Kocher, CEO of ENGIE; and Alan Jope, CEO of Unilever.

This is the 10th annual Climate Week NYC. Created by The Climate Group, an international non-profit, this event aims to step up actions against global heating around the world. Businesses, governments, academic institutions, artists, non-profit organizations and citizens are this year expected to attend more than 150 events, including seminars, concerts, exhibitions, etc.

  • Clean transports, buildings and infrastructure
  • Food, land and nature-based solutions
  • Climate finance, investment and carbon pricing
  • National government policy and commitment
  • State, city and local action
  • Health, equality and justice
  • Sustainable travel and leisure
  • Resilience and adaption to climate change

The Climate Action Summit will open Climate Week. Presided by the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, this summit constitutes a decisive stage in international political cooperation and will give a necessary boost for achieving the targets of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
