gathering to negotiate commitments identified by the COP organizer: tripling renewables, financing ecological transition, aiding countries in the Global South, and adapting to climate change.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the negotiation tables, NGOs, civil society, and businesses are invited to listen and contribute to the discussion. Despite accelerated global efforts aimed at decarbonization, the objectives of the Paris Agreement are not on track to be met. According to the UN, current policies will lead to global warming of around 2.6\u00b0C by 2100 if we fulfill our commitments, and 3\u00b0C if we continue on our current trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, a positive momentum has been established: since the Paris Accords, states have initiated action plans covering 95% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Half of the emissions can already be eliminated thanks to identified and operational levers. However, inflation, the energy crisis, and geopolitical tensions are disrupting this momentum. Moreover, some actors are concerned about the cost of the energy transition and are calling for a reduction in global ambitions.
