this November 25, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/observances\/ending-violence-against-women-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women<\/a>, ENGIE reaffirms its commitment to fighting this scourge. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news\/item\/19-11-2025-lifetime-toll--840-million-women-faced-partner-or-sexual-violence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A new report<\/a> from the World Health Organization (WHO), published on November 19, estimates that roughly 840 million women worldwide\u2014one in three\u2014have experienced intimate-partner or sexual violence in their lifetime. Rich countries fare no better: in France, 272,400 victims of domestic violence were recorded in 2024, 84% of whom were women. In this context, ENGIE continues to step up its efforts to combat violence against women.<\/p>\n<h2>Domestic violence: what is it?<\/h2>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/gender-matters\/council-of-europe-convention-on-preventing-and-combating-violence-against-women-and-domestic-violence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence<\/a>, the latter includes \u201call acts of physical, sexual, psychological or economic violence that occur within the family or domestic unit or between former or current spouses or partners, whether or not the perpetrator shares or has shared the same residence with the victim.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"text-engie-gradient title-4\">In 2025, ENGIE partners with AXA to create \u201csafe spaces\u201d within the company<\/h2>\n<p>Home is often the most dangerous place for a person experiencing domestic violence. While these acts occur in the private sphere, the workplace can serve as an essential refuge: a place where victims can be identified, heard, and supported.<\/p>\n<p>ENGIE is partnering with AXA to launch the Safe Spaces training program, developed with support from experts and NGOs. Translated into 12 languages, this training will be offered to employees of ENGIE, Accor, L\u2019Or\u00e9al, LVMH, Orange, Publicis Groupe France and AXA.<\/p>\n<p>Through this partnership, ENGIE will offer employees a new training module available starting November 25.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the 3R methodology (Recognize, Respond, Refer) promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UN Women, this interactive training provides practical resources and real-life testimonials to help everyone identify signs of violence, respond with empathy, and guide victims toward appropriate support services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Domestic violence does not stop at the company gates. A partnership with the Fondation des Femmes<\/h3>\n<p>Created in 2016 under the aegis of the Fondation de France, the Fondation des Femmes raises funds from the public and corporations to support organizations specializing in women\u2019s rights and the fight against violence.<br \/>\nThe ENGIE Foundation supports this program with three goals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Large-scale training and awareness-raising: 14,000 volunteers trained.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening legal and institutional support: direct legal assistance provided to more than 100 women survivors of violence.<\/li>\n<li>Providing legal support to at least 30 partner organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>2. Support for the Maisons des Femmes network<\/h3>\n<p>Since 2021, the ENGIE Foundation has supported the expansion of the Maisons des Femmes, which are social centers offering comprehensive, one-stop support services for women survivors.<br \/>\nThrough its financial support, the ENGIE Foundation helps to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increase capacity and improve support conditions ;<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen territorial coverage, with four Maisons des Femmes supported: Saint-Denis, Marseille, Dijon and Elbeuf.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A recent milestone was reached on November 17, 2025, with the groundbreaking of the Maison des Femmes at the CHI Elbeuf\u2013Louviers\u2013Val-de-Reuil \u2014 the first in Normandy.
