Based on a techno-economic analysis, our <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engie.com\/en\/explore\/news\/decarbonization-pathways-for-europe-through-2050-engies-scenario\/\">Net Zero for Europe scenario<\/a> estimates that by 2050, <strong>the demand for decarbonized hydrogen will be 7 times higher than today\u2019s hydrogen demand.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most of this demand will come from <strong>heavy mobility sectors<\/strong>, including air, road, and maritime transportation. Green hydrogen will also replace grey hydrogen, which is produced from fossil fuels, and will <strong>help reduce electricity<\/strong> <strong>peaks<\/strong> by providing a storage solution for renewable energy.<\/p>\n<p>Produced through water electrolysis and with an energy density three times greater than that of oil or methane, hydrogen has all the attributes needed to meet the flexibility requirements of the energy system and address the hardest-to-decarbonize sectors.<\/p>\n<h2>Active across the entire value chain<\/h2>\n<p>To meet this challenge, ENGIE actively participates in the development of the hydrogen sector, leveraging expertise across all its business areas.<\/p>\n<p>Our projects, spanning every link in the hydrogen value chain, will be showcased at our booth and explained by our experts.
