 <p>How to ensure continuous supply from 100% renewable energy production?<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft chose ENGIE to help implement a plan to transition all its data centers to renewable energy. The agreement signed by the IT giant in 2019 mandates ENGIE to supply electricity for its Texas data center using an innovative hybrid solution, which combines wind and solar power to guarantee a constant supply of high volumes of energy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n            \n                    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"block_b12c9613f5bbfa069e5bcb308c20bb3e\" class=\"cp-wysiwyg teq-container nj-aura nj-aura--white\">\n    <div class=\"teq-grid \">\n        <div class=\"col-span-6 xl:col-start-2 xl:col-span-10 lg:col-start-1 lg:col-span-12 \">\n                        <div class=\"teq-wysiwyg\">\n                <div data-trad data-trad-html><h3>ENGIE\u2019s solution for MICROSOFT: a hybrid source of energy produced locally<\/h3>\n<p>From 2021, Microsoft\u2019s data center in Texas will be powered by hybrid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engie.com\/en\/explore\/explainer\/6-things-to-know-about-offshore-wind-farms\/\">wind<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engie.com\/en\/explore\/explainer\/6-things-to-know-about-offshore-wind-farms\/\">solar<\/a> energy produced locally by ENGIE, for a period of at least 15 years. The electricity will be sourced primarily from the new Las Lomas wind farm south of Texas, and the Anson Solar Center, currently being built in the centre of Texas state.<\/p>\n<p>This combined wind and solar solution providing Microsoft with a direct energy supply is a major innovation and a decisive example of a full transition to completely decarbonised energy consumption. While renewable energy sources are intermittent \u2013 their production being dependent on weather conditions \u2013 this hybrid mix offers a guaranteed, continuous supply of high volumes to meet the data center\u2019s considerable energy needs.<\/p>\n<p>ENGIE\u2019s pioneering digital software solution Darwin will be used to optimise production at the wind and solar farms. The smart data management platform enables predictive maintenance, real-time meteorological data analysis and real-time monitoring of energy production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProcuring more renewable energy helps to transform our operations.
