energy is a major challenge in India, where millions of people currently struggle to access reliable and continuous energy sources. It is located in Kadapa, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Who is the customer? NTPC Limited, India\u2019s leading distributor of electricity and gas. This project is part of the National Solar Mission \u2013 phase II, a programme launched in 2010 by the Government of India in order to accelerate the production of solar energy and to reach 100 GW of solar capacity by 2022. The plant produces 250 MWac* of solar energy annually, which, in turn, powers 400,000 households with green energy. It contributes to the decarbonisation of India\u2019s energy mix, and supports the government\u2019s goal to develop 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022. This project has been awarded \u2018Best Large-Scale Solar Project\u2019 by MERCOM<sup>2<\/sup> India and was also given recognition for its \u201cExcellence in Energy Management\u201d by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)<sup>3<\/sup>.\u00a0By supplying the local population with clean energy, ENGIE is accelerating the country\u2019s energy transition all while improving energy access conditions.<\/p>\n<p><sup>2.
