Sanofi was the first industrial client to trust GEMS for a biomethane agreement in 2021. Additionally, the pharmaceutical group has just signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with ENGIE for decarbonized electricity: the first covering 1.5 TWh of wind and solar power in France; the second covering 300 GWh of onshore wind power in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As the leading biomethane midstreamer in France<\/strong>, GEMS has already signed BPAs with major industrial players, including <strong>Arkema in 2023, and BASF and Veolia in 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>What is a BPA?<\/h2>\n<p>A Biomethane Purchase Agreement (BPA) is a contract between a biomethane producer and a client, outlining the terms for purchasing biomethane over multiple years. It is the gas equivalent of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), which are contracts for buying electricity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n            <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n
