This energy, produced from a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.engie.com\/en\/explore\/explainer\/6-things-to-know-about-offshore-wind-farms\/\">wind farm<\/a> 4,000 km from where it is used, prevents 7,000 tonnes of CO2 being released into the atmosphere every year.<\/p>\n<h3>Good to know<\/h3>\n<p>L\u2019Or\u00e9al Brazil\u2019s goal was to reduce carbon emissions by 60% by 2020, compared with 2005 levels. By 2018 they had beaten this target with a 68% reduction in their emissions!<\/p>\n<h3>How is ENGIE supporting L\u2019Or\u00e9al in its transition to carbon neutrality?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>L\u2019Or\u00e9al adopted an ambitious programme to reduce its environmental footprint, by sourcing 100% of its power supply from renewable energy sources. In Brazil,\u202fENGIE supplies the cosmetics giant with turnkey solutions to step up its energy transition and achieve carbon neutrality by 2025. \u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ENGIE\u2019s solution for L\u2019Or\u00e9al<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u00b4Or\u00e9al and ENGIE have partnered for the use of electricity from renewable sources in all L\u00b4Or\u00e9al sites in Brazil. Wind power is generated at ENGIE\u2019s Wind Complex in the municipality of Trairi (Cear\u00e1), and it supplies the manufacturing plants, Distribution Centers, Research Center and headquarters of L\u00b4Or\u00e9al Brazil, avoiding the emission of 7,000 tons of CO2\u202fin the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>The Trairi Complex, developed by ENGIE, is a leading wind energy project that contributes to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Clean Energy, but it also contributes to the area of health and education of vulnerable students of municipalities whose initiatives are aligned with ENGIE\u2019s purpose of offering solutions that combine energy and socio-environmental attributes. Acquiring ENGIE\u2019s renewable energy reinforces L\u2019Or\u00e9al Brazil\u2019s commitment to sustainability and helps the company reach its goal of zeroing CO2\u202fimpacts related to energy consumption at its operated sites.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe issue of climate change is one of our priorities in sustainability.
