Context & Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to perform MtM and P&L reporting and reconciling activity within the FINOPS team and automation of various reporting/FINOPS tools. The role will involve performing varied aspects of reporting (e.g. MtM reports for monthly closing, daily/weekly/monthly P&L reporting, reconciliation of P&L between various systems) and developing automated tools and dashboards.

As a Financial Analyst, your main missions would be:

• Preparing MtM Valuations and support Accounting teams in explaining P&L movements
• Prepare reconciliations between economic and accounting P&Ls
• Learn the key functions performed by Back Offices in the energy management sector.
• Develop quantitative and qualitative tools and models to help with financial analysis and business control.
• Automate manual processes / develop tools for reporting financial and operational performance for various audiences (including the FINOPS team, management team).
• Participation to end of Month closings in a joint effort with Finance (Accounting), Back office and Risk teams.

 

Hard skills:

• Quantitative and programmatic abilities. The desire for this skill set is due to the expectation that one understand and actively contribute to analysis and also due to the need to establish tools for such analysis.

• Demonstrable track record in financial/business analysis and P&L reporting
• Commercial acumen and the ability to analyze a problem and expose it to senior management.
• Use market knowledge to understand and explain commercial activities and strategies.
• Measure and provide insights into commercial performance vs budgets/benchmarks.

Soft skills:
• Ability to undertake duties and to assist others as appropriate.
• Ability to use initiative and identify potential improvements to improve the day-to-day process.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to take on tasks as directed by other members of the FINOPS team.
• Ownership & diligence; will ensure that routine tasks are completed to agreed timescales.
• Commercial acumen.
• Ability to work independently and cope with pressure and responsibility.

Education and professional background:
• Preferably MSc equivalent in an analytically focussed discipline.
• To have exposure to Trading/ Finance/ Risk Management for a at least 1~2 years.

Languages:
• Fluent in english is required.

Missions

 

Pour contribuer à des projets d’envergure en France comme à l’international dans les domaines des infrastructures de transport, nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) Ingénieur(e) géotechnicien(ne) confirmé(e) qui rejoindra l’unité Urban Sud.

 

Vos missions seront les suivantes :

 

  • Réaliser les missions géotechniques G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 dans les domaines Infrastructure, Bâtiment, Risques Naturels ;
  • Elaborer des programmes de reconnaissances en fonction des besoins spécifiques à chaque projet, suivre les campagnes de reconnaissances ;
  • Réaliser l’analyse et la synthèse des données des reconnaissances géotechniques ;
  • Réaliser les calculs et modélisations des ouvrages géotechniques en sollicitation statique et dynamique (interaction sol-structure) ;
  • Rédiger les documents de synthèse, les rapports d’étude, et les notes de calcul ;
  • Réaliser des inspections sur site dans le cadre de missions de reconnaissances/diagnostics sur ouvrages ;
  • Réaliser des avis sur les documents d’exécution, et assurer le suivi des travaux ;
  • Représenter la Société auprès des clients, participer à la démarche commerciale dans le secteur du bâtiment, des infrastructures et des ouvrages géotechniques en établissant des offres et en rédigeant des notes méthodologiques ;

Context:

The Expertise Center (EC) Quantitative Research and Modeling (QRM) within GEMS is a team of 30 quantitative analysts. Its mission is to provide advanced quantitative expertise to all Business Platforms (BP) of GEMS.

The quantitative analyst would be part of the “Gas & Oil” quant team (approx. 10 people) but fully dedicated to Gas Supply & Trading (GST) Business Platform (BP). Within this BP, the midstream and upstream gas trading desks are risk managing complex assets in the financial markets, on behalf of internal and external clients.

 


 Role:

The Quantitative Analyst will be focused on the activities of Gas Supply and Trading desks.
The Quantitative Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the models that guide our financial and physical trading, portfolio management and risk assessment activities. 

This role is an opportunity to directly apply advanced modelling techniques as part of a highly quantitative team, with extensive experience on derivatives pricing, risk management and trading.

 The team will rely on him/her to be a real value added to the team, as a support on diverse modelling challenges. He/she will contribute to the whole valuation and risk management chain of a derivatives portfolio.

 

The Quantitative Analyst, will be responsible for the following:

  • Generate end to end model development and design from data preparation to the build & implementation, validation and calibration of derivatives pricing models
  • Theoretical development of appropriate pricing formulas of each derivative traded
    • Conceptual soundness of the modelling framework
    • Consistency with market practice
    • Proofs and mathematical evidence of formulas
    • Documentation of the methodology
  • Implementation of the pricing and risk management engines into an official pricing library
    • Insure the performance of the algorithms used
    • Insure the quality of the code produced
    • Test every new functionality
    • Respect coding conventions and best practices
  • Analysis of the portfolios, perform stress tests and relevant risk analysis

 

  • He/She will be in direct contact with Traders, understand their business needs, provide them with quantitative support in their day-to-day activities, define model needs, translate them into development features
  • He/She will collaborate with other Quants, to exchange about models, new ideas, in order to leverage on the knowledge from peers

 

Hard skills:

  •  Strong mathematical skills, expert in Quantitative Finance
  •  Good understanding of the trading and portfolio management business
  •  Proficient object-oriented programming skills (C#, Python) in order to develop autonomously prototypes & models
