What You Can Expect

The Power Marketing Analyst will work as a supporting key member of the Power Marketing team within the Utility-Scale Renewable Development business. This role will support commercial offtake and project marketing efforts to customers for ENGIE’s project portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects. This role will support identifying and analyzing business opportunities and RFPs, actively participating in go/no-go decisions, and leading and coordinating ENGIE’s proposal preparation efforts in response to RFPs. In addition to having strong writing skills, you will be extremely organized, results-driven, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

  • Manage RFP proposal process in response to a high-volume of simultaneous RFPs to utility and commercial customers as well as working cross-functionally with teams in support of the bids & strategy
  • Create and maintain ENGIE proposals and external marketing materials provided to customers
  • Manage and continually update ENGIE CRM for opportunities
  • Develop and maintain, with other groups, commercial and competitive intelligence
  • Remain updated of renewable energy opportunities in North America and the national industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, economics, finance, mathematics, science, engineering, or related field of study where you have learned contracts/proposals, negotiations, business administration, or similar analytics based coursework
  • Energy industry experience in a related sector, such as Renewables marketing (origination) or proposal development  
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment

Additional Details

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,400 – $95,450 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As a Power Congestion Analyst II, you will report to Director Congestion Trading and provide quantitative and fundamental analytics for US electricity markets to improve grid modeling and congestion portfolio optimization. Every day, you will perform cost modeling by using DAYZER to forecast nodal electricity price components and analyze weather patterns and fuel prices to predict the base electricity prices. You will also ren optimization models to forecast congestion and determine congestion drivers and research data using relevant databases and statistical tools. You will select nodes to trade based on forecasted congestion pattern, and enter bide curves.

 

  • MISO/SPP Independent System Operator (ISO) congestion analysis
  • Act as the central resource on the firm regarding regional ISO information, working with various groups in the organization
  • Execute production cost models (Dayzer) by systematically analyzing and updating the inputs as appropriate
  • Develop and execute appropriate scenario studies pertinent to the period of study and systematically analyzing the results
  • Develop systematic and repeatable approach to form fundamental views with respect to congestion trading
  • Analyze and determine drivers of Day Ahead and Real Time congestion market outcomes based on macro-fundamentals (supply, demand, renewables) and mirco-fundamentals (specific transmission and generation outage impacts, bids, facility limits)

  • Accountable for the delivery of budget export margins on an individual basis within the Power Purchase team; sign New Business and renew existing business.

Salary Range: $146,300 – $224,135 USD annually

is looking for a candidate for the position of:

Portfolio Manager

Location: Katowice

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Negotiating and concluding sales/purchase transactions of electricity, gas, and property rights on the wholesale market (TGE, OTC market)
  • Managing the position of electricity, gas, and property rights, with particular emphasis on the renewable energy sources (RES) portfolio
  • Analyzing short- and long-term price trends, including support in calibrating and updating price models for the energy market in Poland
  • Preparing valuations for the Sales Department
  • Regular analysis of contractual positions (especially RES) and improving the quality of long-term forecasts
  • Realizing P&L of managed positions and ensuring transparent and regular reporting
  • Close cooperation with other departments and Group companies (Brussels, Paris), including local and central Origination & Structuring in the development of LT PPA contracts
  • Operating information exchange systems with energy and gas market participants (including TSO, DSO)
  • Monitoring and managing market and operational risks
  • Executing transactions related to the purchase and sale of CO2 emission allowances

 

 

Candidate profile:

  • Higher education, preferred fields: mathematics, technical, economics
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar position
  • Commodity exchange broker license and knowledge of electricity market mechanisms in Poland and Europe (for Junior Specialist, this is welcome)
  • Knowledge of the law regarding electricity and gas trading
  • Good knowledge of IT/IS applications and tools, particularly practical skills in using new IT solutions in portfolio management and trading
  • Advanced level of English
