What You Can Expect

As the Hedging & Risk Advisor, you will support ENGIE North America's Renewable Energy and Battery Storage operations by managing market risks, strengthening governance frameworks, and providing data-driven strategic insights. You’ll identify and monitor risk exposures, including asset intermittency, financial hedges, energy attributes, and pre-COD risks, while collaborating closely with Finance and Asset Management to optimize asset performance and revenue forecasting.

 

Additionally, you'll drive innovation by automating risk management processes, enhancing digital tools for visibility and analytics, and developing tailored hedging strategies addressing curtailment, basis, and capacity risks. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders, including trading and risk committees, to identify and implement cross-commodity hedging opportunities that maximize financial outcomes.

  • Oversee risk governance frameworks and ensure alignment with ENGIE’s risk mandates and hedging approvals
  • Identify and monitor market exposures across asset generation, PPAs, and financial hedges
  • Develop tools and dashboards for risk visibility, financial modeling, and operational benchmarking
  • Design, implement, and optimize hedging strategies across energy attributes, curtailment, and cross-commodity exposures

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, economic, mathematics, or a related field
  • A minmum of seven (7) years experience in market risk analysis, hedging, or energy sector role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in data visualization tools and systems (Python, Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI) 
  • Familiarity with renewable energy markets

Compensation

Salary Range: $113,900 – $174,570 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

In this role, you will provide essential query management and support for Costing & Pricing activities across a range of products and new propositions for gas, power, and upstream/downstream sectors.

 

This is a hybrid role assigned to our Leeds office where the successful candidate would be based two days per week.  On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate self-generated analysis to senior management
  • Make proposals and recommendations for changes to pricing policy and risk management protocols to senior management and influence their decisions.
  • Develop, maintain and improve models for cost and risk exposure analysis, cost forecasting, premium determination and pricing calculations, ensuring pricing friction is kept to target levels.
  • Proactively develop and implement solutions to pricing issues (and regularly analyse to detect new issues) including improving existing systems and processes or developing new.
  • Assist in the definition of pricing policies and methodologies to help ensure a framework that is effectively implemented and operated across the business, including leading the pricing input to product development.
  • Maintenance of pricing related data in relevant systems.
  • Ensure appropriate communication to management and the wider business of issues/solutions, changes and updates.
  • Monitoring the regulatory landscape and assessing the impacts of industry change on pricing methodologies and cost forecasts, acting as subject matter expert for implementation and communication to stakeholders.
  • Support Finance teams with the calculation and provision of Mark to Market reporting for all third party costs as part of the Full Year Forecast, Mid Term Audit and annual Budget.
  • Understanding and management of economic, market and regulatory issues impacting on Pricing.
  • Communicating and contributing to the management and resolution of any issues.
  • Provide information and Key Business Indicator (KBI)/Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data to allow management of costs and charges, and implement action plans to ensure they are maintained within
  • acceptable parameters.
  • Work with wider business to ensure good stakeholder engagement and customer service as well as identifying issues, communicating them and enabling a resolution.
  • Participate in and support programmes and projects providing role of Subject Matter Expert. Lead smaller business projects to implement new processes / improvements
  • Adherence to and the development of internal processes, policies and risk frameworks.

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree  in Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience  in the wholesale electricity markets, specifically within ERCOT or a related ISO environment.
  • You have two (2) years of experience with Dayzer power grid simulation and analysis software or equivalent
  • You are a clear and effective communicator with strong analytical skills, and you’re comfortable engaging in thoughtful dialogue and debate with colleagues
  • You have a deep understanding of power market fundamentals, macro drivers, and downstream natural gas markets
  • You are knowledgeable in market price formation, scenario-based forecasting, and long-term grid and supply-demand modeling up to a 10-year horizon

As a Power Market Quantitative Senior Analyst in Houston, TX and you will report to the Head of Asset Backed Trading.

 

You will be responsible for valuing various energy assets, including batteries, wind, solar. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in quantitative methods, and a robust understanding of power market. In this role you will:

•       Participate in enhancing the existing pricing and managing framework.

•       Deliver ad hoc tactical solutions as well as develop new pricing models in the official pricing library

•       Play a key role for developing new risk management products linked to the operational characteristics of the generation and retail portfolios

•       Promote best coding practices that comply with general rules and standards.

•       Document and share knowledge across SEM on the different models used within SEM.

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

Market Analytics Analyst Sr. (WECC)

What You Can Expect

As our Power Marketing Senior Analyst, you will lead efforts to develop long-term grid scenarios for the WECC footprint and forecast key supply and demand components to support production cost modeling tools. In this role, you will establish a systematic and repeatable approach to analyze macroeconomic and energy market trends, forming well-grounded fundamental views. You will also be responsible for analyzing and identifying key price formation drivers based on macro fundamentals, including supply, demand, and renewable generation across various market outcomes. This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports to the Head of GMA, North America.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree  in Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience  in the wholesale electricity markets, specifically within ERCOT or a related ISO environment
  • You have two (2) years of experience with Dayzer power grid simulation and analysis software or equivalent
  • You are a clear and effective communicator with strong analytical skills, and you’re comfortable engaging in thoughtful dialogue and debate with colleagues
  • You have a deep understanding of power market fundamentals, macro drivers, and downstream natural gas markets
  • You are knowledgeable in market price formation, scenario-based forecasting, and long-term grid and supply-demand modeling up to a 10-year horizon
  • You are proficient in SQL and Python, and have experience applying statistical techniques to analyze macro-trends and market behavior
  • You collaborate effectively with internal teams including IT, congestion, and other ENGIE business units to align modeling outputs and commercial insights
  • You participate actively in ISO meetings, assess commercial impacts, and build models to track market fundamentals and benchmark against actual ISO/Hub outcomes

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy consisting of a minimum three (3) days in office and two (2) remote
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $99,000 – $151,800 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
