Job Description

To support efficiently the expansion of the Power Systems team in Europe, Middle-East and Africa, and bring the highest standard of consulting services to our clients we are looking for a new colleague for the power systems simulation team.

As Junior Power System Expert, you will contribute to various power system studies. A wide range of services is offered to our clients, ranging from classical power system studies to the review of grid codes and standards. The ideal candidate should have sufficient expertise in power systems analysis which includes :

  • Model preparation & validation,
  • Data analysis,
  • Network modelling,
  • Steady state (load flow, short circuit calculations etc),
  • Dynamic analysis,
  • Generator/demand connection studies
     

In addition, you are able to prepare technical reports, and to make compelling conclusions and recommendations to our clients based on our studies. As part of an international team, you will further develop your expertise and project management skills and you will be responsible for:

 

  • Contributing to power system projects;
  • Maintaining and updating power system models;
  • Contributing to R&D projects in your expertise domain;
     

This team has a world class expertise in Power Systems and is the centre of excellence of the ENGIE Group for all related topics.

  • You have a masters degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Preferably higher degree or qualification in Power System engineering
  • You have 0-3 years of experience in power system studies or you have worked at a transmission system operator or consultancy previously
  • You speak English fluently. Knowledge of the other language(s) (e.g. French, Dutch, Spanish, German, Arab) is an advantage.
  • You have knowledge on phasor-type simulations, operational procedures for system operators, modelling and simulation of power system assets
  • Knowledge in EMT modelling and simulation is desirable
  • Experience in presenting and defending results to clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ideally, you have a first experience with specific power system tools (e.g. PSS/E, DIgSILENT Power factory, ETAP, PSCAD, ATP, EMTP-RV…) and able to learn efficiently new software tools
  • Capable of working autonomously as well as part of a wider team
  • You are dynamic, creative, interested by high level expertise and team work
  • You are geographically mobile for short or mid-term missions all over the world.

Jouw belangrijkste uitdaging als Expert Buyer (Brussel met verplaatsingen naar Doel en Tihange)

 

Als Expert Buyer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het vaststellen van business behoeften en het identificeren van opportuniteiten. Je werkt intensief samen met de business en de collega's van het aankoopdepartement, op een efficiënte manier en volledig in overeenstemming met onze procurement governance.

 

In deze functie speel je een belangrijke rol als stakeholder in het project en streef je ernaar om, rekening houdend met onze bedrijfsbehoeften, de beste waarde te capteren uit de leveranciersmarkt en die te contracteren.

 

Je opereert in een snel evoluerende en veeleisende omgeving, waarbij de aankoopafdeling van ENGIE een cruciale rol speelt door toegevoegde waarde te leveren zowel op financieel als op operationeel vlak, inclusief het beheer van leveranciersrelaties, het beheer van de toeleveringsketen en het risicobeheer.

 

Je plaats van tewerkstelling is hoofdzakelijk Brussel met regelmatige verplaatsingen naar zowel de Kerncentrales Doel als Tihange.

 

Jouw dagelijkse werkzaamheden:

  • Je definieert, stelt voor en/of implementeert aankoopstrategieën en actieplannen in samenwerking met de relevante stakeholders voor een capex- of opexproject, of voor een bepaalde aankoopcategorie
  • Je leidt en coördineert een multifunctioneel team van stakeholders dat het aankoopproject zal uitvoeren.
  • Je bereidt het aanbestedingsproces voor en leidt deze (waaronder potentiële leveranciers identificeren en evalueren, offertes evalueren, de onderhandelingsstrategie bepalen en de contractuele en commerciële onderhandelingen leiden).
  • Je bereidt de nota’s aangaande de aankoopstrategie en aangaande de gunning voor en presenteert deze aan het relevante goedkeuringscomité.
  • Je stelt de desbetreffende raamovereenkomsten of bestellingen op en communiceert met alle relevante belanghebbenden.
  • Je beheert de raamovereenkomsten en volgt de leveranciers en de business op om volledige naleving te garanderen.
  • Je organiseert en neemt deel aan leveranciersevaluaties en definieert actieplannen voor de leveranciers.
  • Je bent bereid om de beste (industriële en aankoop) praktijken te implementeren met specifieke aandacht voor de ENGIE richtlijnen inzake HSE en CSR.

 

De ideale match

  • Je hebt een masterdiploma, bij voorkeur in een technisch domein of gelijkwaardig door ervaring.

  • Je hebt meerdere jaren ervaring in EPC en muti-EPC project procurement en category procurement.

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist EMEA who’s main role will be focused on attracting the best talents for the ENGIE Impact teams in Europe. You will join our HR team based in Brussels. You will act as a business partner with the hiring managers to guide and drive the recruitment strategy, according to the business needs. As part of this TA role, you will have an end to end responsibility from intake, over sourcing and selection to onboarding. Next to that TA role, you will also be able to support our Senior Manager Talent and DEI that will be based in Paris by ensuring the implementation of the training offering for our European employees.

 

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist:

  • You manage and implement the talent acquisition strategy in collaboration with the rest of the HR team and the managers.
  • Together with the HR Business Partners, you have regular talks with the hiring managers to understand, challenge and update the recruitment needs.
  • You manage and implement a strong sourcing strategy to secure the best candidate’s sources and target outstanding profiles. As part of that role, in order to support our diversity, you will ensure that the sourcing funnel meets the Engie Groups’ and Engie Impact’s DEI objectives and strategy at every stage of the TA process.

To manage these challenges around radioactive waste during the decommissioning of our 7 plants, the Fleet Decommissioning organization is looking for one Radioactive Waste Project Manager that will work from Brussels. 


Radioactive Waste Management projects ensure the efficient transfer of already produced and future waste to ONDRAF/NIRAS, in line with the decommissioning waste strategy.

These projects cover the following topics:

  • implementation of the new waste acceptance & compliance criteria
  • development and implementation of waste streams
  • development and implementation of material and waste inventory
  • development and implementation of radioactive transports

 
What exactly does your job consist of?

As Radioactive Waste Project Manager you will take on the above projects in close cooperation with the Decommissioning team, internal stakeholders and external stakeholders. 
And this under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager, the Operational Fleet Waste Manager or the person in charge of the Waste Department.
You will be responsible for the execution of the assigned project scope according to the defined and approved timing and budgets, reporting on progress to your hierarchy and applicable project committees.

ENGIE Electrabel works together with ONDRAF/NIRAS and the FANC on the technical processes and modalities to achieve efficient transfer of the radioactive waste (RaW: Radioactive Waste) produced and to be produced. 
This includes both the operational waste from operation and the waste from decommissioning of the nuclear power plants.
 These activities are managed on the ENGIE Electrabel side in the Fleet department under the direction of the CDO (Chief Decommisoning Officer) which covers both the "relations" with ONDRAF/NIRAS (NDRaW department = Nuclear Decommisiong and Rad Waste) and the technical decommissioning project (D&D program) itself.

 

The NDRaW department is responsible for the contractual, technical and financial management of all radioactive waste flows resulting from ENGIE Electrabel's operations, cessation and dismantling activities. This management fits within the legal and regulatory framework with the highest priority for nuclear safety and with great attention to efficiency.
ONDRAF/NIRAS' surface disposal project for cat A waste is in the final stages of obtaining its nuclear operating license. This entails increasing coordination and consultation to define the technical and financial modalities for collection, transfer, temporary storage and final disposal of the RaW from ENGIE Electrabel.
 For ENGIE Electrabel as the largest Belgian RaW producer, this is a crucial issue.
