What You Can Expect

The Project Management, Advisor is the primary manager of all phases of an energy project, with the objective of successful completion on time and within budget, while maintaining quality, safety, and cash management standards, and producing strong customer references. Assigned projects will include a combination of energy efficiency measures, renewable generation installations, and various carbon reduction strategies, to help public sector, commercial and industrial customers around the United States become more sustainable, save money, and improve processes in their plants and services to their end-users. In this role, you will manage one to several projects simultaneously from early development through post-construction, including design, contract negotiations, and project implementation.

 

In addition to assigning responsibilities to the project team and establishing schedules for individual team members, the Project Management, Advisor oversees various technical aspects of the project. This includes developing the project scope, conducting savings analysis, and ensuring the feasibility of proposed measures. Collaborating closely with the Sales team, you assist in customer presentations and interviews during the project's development phase. You will liaise with the Legal department to prepare and negotiate customer agreements and change orders, ensuring all contractual obligations are met. The Project Management, Advisor is also responsible for managing all cost components throughout project implementation, maintaining precise budget records, and promptly notifying supervisors of any necessary adjustments. You will work alongside the construction manager to establish a comprehensive project schedule with regular progress milestones, ensuring timely completion. Alongside these responsibilities, you actively engage with Accounting to facilitate monthly customer invoicing and address any payment delays or issues proactively. You will ensure compliance with local labor regulations and oversee the timely completion of monitoring set-up packages and final job close-out information.

 

This position can sit in Sacramento, CA and will report to the Director of Project Management.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in which you have gained a knowledge of construction management, engineering elements, and project management functions
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience, including training
  • Proficient in financial analysis skills to predict customer project economics and manage project budgets
  • Strong negotiation skills that protect ENGIE’s interests on a given project, while building customer and vendor/subcontractor rapport
  • Ability to prepare and write accurate customer reports and RFX responses, with attention to customer goals and needs
  • Capability to create and execute project development and delivery schedules
  • Excellent adherence to schedule, and collaborative problem-solving skills to maintain budget, schedule, and customer satisfaction
  • High standards of accuracy, appearance, and thoroughness of project documentation
  • Ability to review engineering work across all typical energy project scope types
  • Knowledge of contract scopes of work, and alignment with subcontractor scopes of work
  • Ability to review and improve energy analysis performed by others for all project sizes
  • Understands Project Engineer job responsibilities in project development
  • Knowledge of durations and requirements of energy measure development and delivery
  • Prepare and understand proformas
  • Superior understanding of general construction methods and can work with the construction manager to implement the project

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

What You Can Expect

As our Project Management Senior (PM) working in a self-managed team concept, you will be a part of the ENGIE capital projects team based at the University of Iowa in Iowa City IA.  Our projects are located on two local University campuses, and include the University Hospital. As part of this team you will be responsible for managing utility infrastructure capital projects associated with expanding and maintaining the utility system on the campus. Projects range in size from $100,000 to $50M, with completion of each taking the span of 1-5 years. 

 

This position is being hired in support of a 50 year concession agreement to operate, maintain and enhance the University of Iowa’s utility system.  The projects you’ll take on will involve numerous and diverse projects in the areas of electric and thermal energy production and distribution, and storm- and wastewater infrastructure.

 

No two days are the same, starting with the development stage  you will be submitting reports and conducting meetings with Team members, subcontractors and stakeholders on a regular basis, providing oversight and sharing updates on projects and planning, solving construction challenges through collaboration  and clearing the path and working towards successful completion. The key measurements of success are successful completion of projects with no health, safety or environmental and public relations,  on time and under budget.  You will be managing contracts for both Design and construction of capital projects within the central plants, and managing project teams made of internal staff, external consultants  and Operations and maintenance staff.

 

Additional duties include the following:

  • Administer design and construction contracts to include the development of project specifications, a detailed scope of work and principle contract provisions, working closely with corporate Contracts Management and the Procurement Department
  • Work with the University stakeholders, ENGIE colleagues, and ENGIE contractors, including engineers, architects, construction firms, and other contractors to develop and execute projects
  • Partner with Program Manager and Operations and Maintenance leadership to identify, justify, and prioritize potential projects

 

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • You have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or  related field from an ABET accredited institution
  • You will have gained a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the successful management of construction or maintenance projects in which you gained experience with managing complex projects to successful completion, such as those involving schools, hospitals, manufacturing or universities 
  • Possess or have the desire to achieve a PMP Certification
  • You will have experience in fostering and adhering to the highest safety standards, ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and the general public
  • You will have gained expertise in developing work packages for execution to include: statement of scope, change management, performance testing, QA/QC Requirements, Parts/Tools, Man-hours, Material Procurement, technical data Sheets, Drawings/Specifications, Task Procedures and job safety plans
  • You will have gained experience creating and giving presentations and professional  communications, using Microsoft Office, Procore, or other project management tools, to create written reports, project updates, and reporting data for all stakeholders including your management team, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • You are experienced with managing the financial and contractual aspects of capital projects
  • You will have demonstrated ability to create a team culture of camaraderie, integrity and trust among the integrated project team members  and exhibits excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints and the resolution of conflict situations
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and ensure performance expectations and resultant outcomes are met

What You Can Expect

Our intern located at the University of Iowa campus in Iowa city will be learning how to safely treat drinking water at our Grade IV Water Treatment facility where we treat both surface and ground sourced water. The intern will learn to  perform clarification and lime softening methods and will  also utilize reverse osmosis and activated carbon treatment processes. The minimum certification required to independently operate the University of Iowa Water Plant is a Class II Water Operator Certification. The student employment program at the Water Plant will be aimed toward helping students achieve a Water Operator Certification.  As part of your training  you will learn how to properly test water, and to understand the results.  You will also learn the regulatory basis for water quality requirements, and effluent / by-product disposal requirements.

 

Every Day you will learn new tasks in our treatment process. You will take samples and learn to adjust chemicals (automated) based on  the chemical properties of the water. You will be monitoring SCADA screens and learning how the plant is supposed to operate. As well as troubleshooting equipment, while conducting walk-throughs of the plant checking on equipment and logging  testing results and findings from making your rounds.

 

We are very flexible during the school year you can come in and train during any of our operating shifts. to gain hours and operational experience.  You will work rotating shifts on assigned weekends ( we operate three shifts).

What You Can Expect

As our Operations Technician III, at Howard University you will be responsible for assisting in the safe, legal, reliable, and cost-efficient operation and maintenance of campus utility production and distribution systems of steam, electricity, and condensate. Every day you will record and monitor equipment operating conditions and report or adjust as required to maintain safe and efficient operation. You will report to the Plant Engineer Supervisor.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of training or experience in the trade practice of steam engineering
  • You have a minimum 3rd Class DC Steam Engineers License

  • You will operate intuitively from previous knowledge in troubleshooting gauges and instruments on equipment to bring about the satisfactory operation
  • You will work from drawings and be capable of systematically and logically locating the problem when drawings are not available
  • You are a novice in translating and communicating operational problems to all levels of management
  • You are comfortable performing chemical analysis of boiler feedwater, make-up water and condensate return; and adjusting chemical treatment to specified ranges established by the chemical treatment company
  • You will participate in repair, maintenance, installation, and upkeep of all central plant equipment and work areas
  • You will review operational manuals, technical manuals, and plant procedures
  • You will perform other duties as assigned

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role requires attendance at a worksite on a daily basis
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
  • This position consist of 30% of outdoor work, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions
  • Designated as an emergency employee and must report to work regardless of the university’s operating status
  • Adhere to the highest safety standards while multi-tasking and utilizing problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements and communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Capacity to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy while using company-issued computer
  • Capability to lift light to medium-weight objects utilizing necessary safety equipment as needed
  • Competence to perform work from ladders or scaffolds, on top of boilers, next to hot steam-driven equipment, and near rotating equipment. This may require a person to push or pull objects and/ or work inside confined spaces, manholes, crawl space or work in an abnormal sitting or standing positions
  • Willingness to develop technical proficiency in software applications; such as Maximo, SAP, ADP

 

 

Compensation

Salary Range:  $32.94 to $41.13 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
