About the Role:

In light of a continuous transformation agenda combined with an ambition to expand the UK platform, GEM UK has initiated the hiring of a Lead Digitalization Initiatives Manager. Responsible for driving the Digitalization of Business Processes, the UK lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing digital strategies to enhance efficiency and innovation in our GEM UK energy management and trading operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in initiating and implementing digital solutions in the energy sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the deployment of a comprehensive digitalization strategy aligned with the goals of GEM UK
  • Identify the digital solutions to optimize processes and drive business value by leveraging digital technologies and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure its successful implementation and ongoing use and development.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of digital initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement digital solutions that enhance energy management and trading processes and ensure its successful implementation and ongoing use and development.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their applicability to energy management and trading.
  • Provide recommendations on technology adoption, considering industry trends and organizational.
  • Identify strategies and technology for system and data unification
  • Implement change management processes to facilitate the adoption of digital solutions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition to digitalized processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive innovation and digital transformation.
  • Manage the analysis of data and systems output to measure and verify and report on the process optimisation and the operational performance.
  • Communicate the benefits of digital initiatives to stakeholders and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

 

Qualifications & experience:

  • Extensive experience (15+) in leading digital deployment and operation, with a proven track record of driving digital transformation.
  • At least Bachelor’s degree (Ideally a masters) in engineering, business engineering, mathematics or physics.

The role reports to the B2B Performance Manager and can be worked flexibly from our Southbank office and from home.  Ideally, this is a full time role, however reasonable requests for part time work (0.8 FTE) would be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

The B2B Information Officer is part of the B2B Performance team that provides middle office services to the B2B supply business and will be responsible for the following:

B2B sales support

Improve excellence and efficiency in B2B sales by:

  • Assist in the sourcing of data for B2B customers for opportunity prospecting and analysis
  • Complete specific customer data collection, data extraction and basic analysis as required
  • Data Entry/Upload into our CRM and other systems
  • Collaborate with team members on complex tasks
  • Support cross-functional projects of B2B sales & operations.

Business Improvement

Develop competence and confidence in data engagement across the B2B Supply business by:

  • Proactively review of existing data usage practices of the B2B Sales team with a view to improve user experience, reduce effort, and improve time to delivery.

About the role

The position is key to support ENGIE’s businesses within the UK and Ireland, in the context of existing key businesses and strong growth ambitions. The purpose of the Head of Regulatory, Public Affairs and ESG/CSR role is to lead the strategic management of regulatory compliance, government relations, and public affairs as well as oversee and coordinate ESG/CSR related activities within ENGIE UK. This position aims to (1) understand key business stakes, then establish and represent the company’s position, as well as (2) monitor and explain relevant regulatory matters within the company (businesses in the UK and corporate).

 

To succeed, the Head of RAPA & ESG/CSR will effect collaboration with relevant authorities in the UK to review and help frame policy decisions, navigate regulatory frameworks, and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders,. The person in the role will also liaise and coordinate with a network of experts within the Group, in particular the Public Affairs Department, which reports to the Group General Secretary. He or she will be involved in existing networks for exchanges between the heads of public and regulatory affairs in the Group's various geographies. ESG/CSR

  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership in analysing regulatory strategies in context of ENGIE's ESG objectives.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, government relations, or a related field within the energy sector or a closely aligned industry, including work at a strategic level.
  • Bachelor's degree in law, Public Policy, Political Science, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field. A master degree is highly desirable.
  • Certifications or additional training in energy law, policy analysis, regulatory compliance, or public affairs are highly desirable.
  • An in-depth knowledge of the energy markets, climate change & environmental issues and related regulations is essential for this role.
  • A detailed understanding of the functioning of Institutions mainly in the UK but in Ireland as well
  • A detailed understanding of the market structure and the business activities of market players. A wider appreciation of the UK/EU political landscape
  • Demonstrable track record in working collaboratively with Governments in key policy areas.

Detailed Job responsibilities:

  • Customer Onboarding
    • Support activation of customers in ENGIE systems to assure smooth participation in contracted programmes 
    • Managing customer information on ongoing basis
    • Creation of reports to monitor portfolio’s and performance
    • Understanding Grid rules for all flexibility programmes in the UK
    • Supporting the management of internal stakeholders to align with Grid enrollment windows 
    • Detailed knowledge and execution of grid enrolment processes for flexibility programs
    • Analysis of customer data to determine accurate customer nominations and to support portfolio optimisation 

 

  • Portfolio Management & optimisation
    • Assist in ex post data settlement processes to ensure we are paid correctly by TSOs/market operators and in turn paying customers correctly 
    • Ad hoc analysis to support decision-making of Flex programme manager 
    • Portfolio and process optimization and improvement
    • Support the development of and launch of new flexibility products and programmes
    • Manage auction/tender processes including conducting detailed market analysis,
    • Contribute to and championing the continuous improvement of scalable processes to increase efficiency and operational effectiveness 
    • Driving collaboration efforts across teams to achieve successful implementation
    • Identify and drive initiatives that improve operations, mitigate risks and take advantage of emerging market opportunities
