Your mission   

 

As Fire Safety Engineer in our Nuclear department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in  the Fire Competence Center (Fire Profession), which reports to the Professions department of the Nuclear Business Area, is responsible for the following activities (non-exhaustive list): 

 

  • Design studies, feasibility studies, and modification studies for fire, explosion, and internal flooding protection systems.
  • Diagnostics and audits of fire protection systems.
  • Modeling, calculations, and analyses (water fire protection systems, fire propagation, smoke, ventilation, internal explosion, internal flooding).
  • Risk analysis for fire, internal explosion, and internal flooding.
  • R&D (Research projects, development of integrated modeling and analysis tools).
  • Expertise in fire detection and protection systems.
  • Operational support and maintenance for fire protection equipment and systems.
  • Technical specifications, purchasing, and contract management. -Monitoring the construction and commissioning of fire protection equipment and installations.

Your key responsibilities   

 

As a member of the Fire Business Unit, you will be responsible for the following activities, working closely with project managers, experts, and clients:

 

  • Conducting and/or reviewing risk analyses (fire/explosion/internal flooding) in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, and internal methodologies.
  • Conducting and/or reviewing calculations and modeling:
  • Conducting and/or reviewing analyses in accordance with applicable methodologies and identifying appropriate and pragmatic recommendations that meet the needs of the project and the client.
  • Conducting and/or reviewing risk analyses by defining scenarios and assumptions, selecting the correct models, collecting and implementing data in the model, performing calculations and analyzing the results, and synthesizing them.
  • Validating the consistency between the required and existing fire protection/detection resources. -Include requirements from other trades (HVAC, GC, EI&C, etc.), project safety guidelines, unit safety reports, insurers, codes, norms, and regulations.
  • Verify compliance of the study with the on-site situation, include feedback, and prepare reports (high level of quality).
  • Determine and recommend appropriate on-site modifications (protection/detection means).
  • Presentation of analyses and conclusions to the Client.
  • Manage interfaces and ensure effective communication between the various stakeholders.
  • Coaching of junior engineers and monitoring of subcontracted studies/simulations.
  • Ensure that the budget, planning, and scope of studies are consistent with project requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager and the Owner in technical meetings and discussions with the Safety Authorities.
  • Be the SPOC / Fire Safety Engineer contact for a large program, project, or client site.
  • Participate in conferences, standards committees, working groups developing or updating standards, and research projects.

  • Civil Engineer diploma (Mechanical engineer, Fire safety Engineer, Nuclear Engineer is an asset) or High Engineering School diploma (ENSAM, ENSI Bourges, INSA Centre-Val de Loire, INSA Rouen, ENSE or equivalent), + Master 2 Fire engineering is an asset.
  • 5 to 10 years of proven experience in Fire engineering.
  • Industries experience, Nuclear is an asset.
  • Capacity to assume responsibilities, to take initiative, coach/follow-up people and able to work autonomously. 
  • Team player and capacity to develop personal contacts, good listener and communicator. 
  • Good language skills : French and English (and Dutch for Belgium workplace is an asset).

Your mission   

 

As Severe Accidents Design Engineer  in our Nuclear department you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in our Safety Engineering department
 

Your key responsibilities   

 

  • Licensing Studies (SGTR, FWLB, …) – contributing to the Safety demonstration of Nuclear installation;
  • PWR Plant Operation Support (transient analysis, procedure optimization,…); - Performing design/operational support studies using several scientific tools;
  • Performing Severe Accidents Studies using several scientific tools, aiming the system scale response;
  • Performing Multi-scale and Multi-physics simulations using the CERES Tractebel platform;
  • Performing Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) for Level 2 aiming releases to the environment.
  • You will perform complex engineering analysis in the domain of nuclear reactor using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g. MELCOR, ASTEC Severe Accidents modeling tools)
  • You will participate in the development and the analysis associated with PSA level 2 evaluation

 
We would love to hear from people with  
 

  • You have a prior industrial experience in performing licensing study for nuclear installations and you are familiar with international codes and standards;
  • You have knowledge of the Belgian nuclear domain; 
  • You are interested to become a high-level expert in this topic;
  • Knowledge of task automation through scripts (e.g.: Python, bash,…) is an asset;
  • Knowledge of multi-physics and/or multi-scale technics is an asset.

Missions
 

  • Perform the structural studies (FS, Tender, Detailed Design) of major hydropower and dam projects, ensuring that the projects assigned to you will be executed in accordance with our quality system and our H&S rules and with the highest level of International Standard.
  • Contribute to the development of FEM model and studies on dedicated software.
  • Ensure the technical level of proposal according to the client’s expectations and the high standard of Quality and Safety.
  • Work together with colleagues, external partners (such as other design and engineering consultancies, contractors during the construction phase, etc.) and clients in a constructive way.

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline, preferred in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

Your Mission 

Tractebel is seeking a Mechanical site Supervisor for a project located in Mejillones (at Engie Mejillones Complex).
The selected candidate objective will supervise the correct execution of the Mechanical/Piping site works in a Power Plant reconversion project.
It will act as the site owner's representative, maintaining a direct relationship with the subcontractors, site manager, Tractebel engineering team and Engie (the Owner) team.

 

Main Roles
 

  • Review the Mechanical and Piping field engineering and construction documents.
  • Track and report subcontractor's progress.
  • Asure the conformity of the construction with the technical drawings and applicable codes and standards. 
  • Supervise the quality of construction. 
  • Promote and assure a safe working environment by supervising the compliance with the approved safety measures during the execution of the works.
  • Propose solutions to daily interference problems during on-site assembly. 
  • Register, report and track deviations and quality issues from the contractor by means of non-conformity reports.
  • Support the engineering team to find last minute engineering/construction changes and interferences.
  • Support Site Manager during meetings, reports, and site inspections.

 

Professional Requirements

Your mission

  

As EHS Administrator, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team working on the construction of a hyperscale data center in Belgium. Your role will be key in ensuring the implementation of a safe and compliant work environment. Through your coordination, site presence, and accurate reporting, you will help foster a culture of safety across the entire project lifecycle.

 

Your key responsibilities   
 

  • Deliver EHS induction training to new personnel on site.
  • Conduct and report daily “Boots on the Ground” (BOTG) observations using the client reporting platform, aiming for 5 per day.
  • Ensure consistent follow-up on reported issues and contribute to proactive safety measures by identifying trends.
  • Gradually transfer existing observation data into the current reporting system.
  • Organize and participate in weekly EHS meetings and site walks (EPCM meetings and Toolbox Talks).
  • Track and follow up on action points from EHS meetings.
  • Assist in preparing materials and actively contribute to client and leadership meetings with an EHS focus.
  • Participate in monthly EHS leadership meetings and European EHS Council reviews.
  • Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports to the client.
  • Work closely with the EHS Manager on procedures, documentation, and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including EPCM, contractors, and clients, to ensure smooth communication and project alignment.
  • Contribute to an organized, well-documented, and responsive EHS operation on site.

Your mission

 

As EHS Manager, you will lead the Environment, Health, and Safety function on a high-profile data center construction site across Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. You will be responsible for shaping and enforcing a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with local and international standards, and guiding a team of EHS Supervisors to successfully implement the EHS strategy. Your mission will directly contribute to the health, safety, and environmental integrity of this hyperscale project.

  • Lead the EHS team on-site and ensure alignment with Tractebel’s and the client’s safety culture and policies.
  • Enforce adherence to all relevant EHS legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective measures.
  • Act as Stop Work Authority (SWA) when works are unsafe or non-compliant.
  • Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and communication strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments, validate RAMS, and oversee mitigation strategies.

  • Lead incident investigations, define root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Significant experience in a similar EHS management role on large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centers or high-hazard environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Belgian EHS laws; familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is a plus.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement EHS procedures and delegate effectively.
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
  • Experience delivering impactful EHS training programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch and/or French is highly desirable.
  • Experience with G Suite and working in international project environments is an asset.

Ta mission 


En tant qu’alternant ingénieur projet dans notre département nucléaire, tu contribueras tous les jours à notre mission en accompagnant ton tuteur /ton équipe dans les missions suivantes :

  • Appuyer les ingénieurs projet dans la planification, le suivi et la coordination des activités afin d’assurer la bonne exécution des projets en respectant les exigences de sûreté nucléaire.
  • Assister le chef de projet dans la gestion quotidienne des tâches opérationnelles et administratives pour garantir le respect des délais, et des exigences techniques.

 

Ce que tu vas développer

 

  • Tu participeras à la gestion de projets nucléaires, en contribuant au suivi des activités liées aux systèmes électriques et de contrôle-commande.
  • Tu développeras des compétences techniques en appui aux équipes d’ingénierie.
  • Tu assureras un soutien à la coordination entre les différents acteurs du projet, en veillant au respect des exigences de sûreté, de qualité et de performance.

 

Qui es-tu

 

 

  • Tu es actuellement en dernière année de formation Bac+5 ou dans une école telle que IAE Aix en Provence.
  • Tu as des compétences informatiques en bureautique.
  • Tu as également une capacité de dynamisme, de curiosité et tu as une aisance relationnelle.
  • Tu parles couramment français et tu as une bonne maîtrise du français.
