What You Can Expect

The Business Operations Analyst I will be engaged in a broad range of business operation activities in support of project development and construction activities throughout ENGIE North America’s (ENA) portfolio of utility-scale wind and solar assets. 

 

In this role you will work on discrete tasks, with minimal need for oversight, in support of managers, directors and vice presidents within ENA’s Grid Scale Renewables’ Project Development, Project Delivery and Commercial Strategy teams.

 

Every day in this role your work efforts will focus on establishing, maintaining, and assisting with various business operations improvement initiatives. The Business Operations Analyst I, is responsible for assisting with the development of a well-integrated process methodology across the full life cycle ENA renewable assets. The position will also be required to work independently with various corporate functional support groups (e.g., Development, Delivery, Commercial Operations, IT, and Commercial Strategy)) to implement ongoing business operation processes and resolve identified issues. In addition, this position will lead all efforts surrounding the development and execution of training related to the business process, systems and tools routinely required to be used by grid scale renewable team members.

 

  • Assist with the formation, establishment and upkeep of SAP WBS projects/templates and the flow of information from SAP to grid scale renewables development and construction managers to perform their job responsibilities
  • Analyze and assess actual project CapEx and OpEx spend to ensure quality and accuracy of data, independently execute forensic accounting tasks to identify outliers and work directly with corporate Accounting/AP and Procurement to rectify errors
  • Update and modify full life cycle budgets in SAP as supplemental budgets are approved or contingencies are released
  • Assist with the preparation of routine cash forecasting exercises and Reserve Account preparations
  • Work with development managers, Accounting and Procurement to transition historic costs and established purchases to full life cycle project budgets and templates. In relationship to this activity, ensure the accounting and purchasing history of all Safe Harbor tax credit equipment are accurately assigned to applicable projects
  • Assist other Business Operations team members and work with various corporate functions to roll-out new or updated business processes and tools to be used by grid scale renewables
  • Facilitate the construction of and maintain the documentation/process flows that define various process used to operate our businesses
  • As required, lead training and orientation efforts surrounding the use of legacy business systems/tools and the roll-out of new enterprise systems. Also responsible for coordinating these efforts with applicable corporate functional groups

 

 

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Education, Systems, Science or Economics required
  • Experience in a similar analytical role where you have worked with EXCEL, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables
  • Detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue and investigate the underlying details surrounding information being reported to construct a comprehensive understanding of project related risks/issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to diagnosis and solve problems within limited time frames
  • Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel, (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc)
  • Ability to be trained and be efficient at data capture and analysis exercises using internal dashboards and various enterprise systems (e.g., INCEPTIoN, Radian Digital, SAP/SAC, Coupa, Procore)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences
  • Results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently within a large matrixed organization while effectively interfacing with the various cross-functional employee groups
  • Desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America

 

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy in Santa Barbara, CA or Houston, TX

Compensation

Salary Range: $62,400 – $95,450 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As our Project Developer, you will support a broad range of pre-construction development activities on projects within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States and Canada. Your daily task will include working on all aspects of early to late-stage project development, such as local, state, and federal permitting, public and stakeholder engagement, public hearings, environmental site assessment, and project financing due diligence support. You will work closely with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, as well as pre-construction, engineering and project delivery departments, and other aspects of wind , solar and storage project development to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America. This role offers flexibility in location, with options in either Santa Barbara, CA, Chicago, IL Denver, CO or Houston, TX.

 

The Development Associates and Project Developers will support the development team in order to:

  • Manage and actively drive development activities of utility-scale solar , wind and storage projects from feasibility to the start of construction
  • Manage all aspects of  environmental site assessment, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities in close collaboration with SMEs
  • Engage consultants, review their findings, and ensure implementation
  • Research new industry developments, tax incentives, technologies, etc.
  • Manage permit application preparation and attend public permitting hearings
  • Manage agency and AHJ submittals and interactions on local, state, and federal level
  • Develop project model underwriting assumptions in alignment with investment criteria and off-take origination efforts
  • Engage with landowners and stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the development process, including attending community engagement events
  • Maintain database tracking project progress
  • Support energy offtake, financing, and project M&A discussions and document preparation
  • Prepare investment presentation materials for ENGIE investment committees
  • Review project pro forma financial models to understand how returns are impacted
  • Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in which you complted courses in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration or Economics
  • A minimum of two (2) years related experience, preferably in renewable energy development or other fields of project development with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement
  • You are detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue required information

As an intern in our Westminster, CO office, you will work as a supporting key member of the Project Management (PM) and Construction Management (CM) team within the Utility-Scale Renewable Development business.

 

Every day you will support the Project and Construction Management staff with project start up activities for ENGIE’s project portfolio of wind, solar and battery storage projects.

Liderar el proceso de confiabilidad en la Gerencia de Renovables, a través de la adecuada definición de las estrategias que promuevan el análisis técnico económico del funcionamiento de los activos de las plantas, contribuyendo a la disponibilidad y confiabilidad de los activos dentro de los estándares de seguridad, calidad y medio ambiente. Proponer iniciativas de mejora continua que permita recuperar o mejorar la condición de los activos para cumplir con los objetivos de la Gerencia. Asimismo deberá dar soporte transversal en los procesos y técnicas que maneja. 

 

Funciones:

 

  • Realizar y gestionar la base de datos de los activos de la organización a través de la definición de la jerarquía y criticidad, que sirve como base para la gestión de activos y mantenimiento.
  • Ejecutar la definición y  actualización periódica de la Criticidad de los Activos. Esto considera la definición de la taxonomía de los equipos que componentes las plantas de Renovables en las herramientas digitales que se definan.
  • Diseñar el plan base y participar en la actualización y desafío del programa de mantenimiento de los sitios y auditar el cumplimiento del plan, logrando que las ejecuciones de los trabajos se encuentren conformes a los parámetros de funcionamiento y mantengan los estándares de disponibilidad, seguridad, calidad y medio ambiente.
  • Establecer un plan y listado de stock base de repuestos de los equipos críticos de los activos renovables, ejecutando acciones para asegurar su disponibilidad de manera conjunta con el área de Mantenimiento y Soporte Técnico.
  • Mantener actualizado el Estándar de Estudios de Análisis de Causa Raíz (ACR) y ejecutarlos según corresponda. Con estos estudios debe definir planes de acción para eliminar y/o mitigar los efectos de las cusas raíz. Finalmente difundir los Análisis de Causa Raíz a través de reuniones de lecciones aprendidas.
  • Gestionar, participar y ejecutar planes de acción para el mejoramiento de los activos renovables, con el objetivo de lograr los niveles de producción y disponibilidad deseados de las instalaciones.

 

Requisitos del cargo:

 

  • Formación académica: Ingeniería de Ejecución o Civil Mecánica, Electrónica / Eléctrica o afín.
  • Inglés: Ingles nivel intermedio.
  • Conocimiento en Confiabilidad plantas solares / eólicas / hidroeléctricas.

  • Ejecutar el monitoreo y comprobación de las variables críticas de los activos mecánicos y eléctricos de Renovables para contribuir a la disponibilidad y confiabilidad del funcionamiento de los equipos, velando por la continuidad de la producción, dentro de los estándares de seguridad, medio ambiente y calidad definidos
  • Establecer, de manera conjunta con el equipo de Mantenimiento y Soporte Técnico y el equipo de Gestión Operacional, la estrategia el programa de mantenimiento predictivo de los activos renovables, para asegurar  el monitoreo por condición de activos y equipos estratégicos, determinar acciones de mantenimiento predictivo y resguardar la calidad de dicho proceso
  • Evaluar los reportes de condición de los equipos críticos e informes de falla, elaboración de ACR, planes de mantenimiento y repuestos, presupuestos OPEX y CAPEX

What You Can Expect

The Asset Registration Advisor’s main responsibility is to register large-scale, wind, solar, and battery storage, new projects with local and state government, various regulatory agencies, and Independent System Operators (ISOs). This application process involves gaining access to the ISO registration systems and portals via digital certificates provided by an ENGIE User System Administrator (USA). You'll be tasked with acquiring registration requirements, by reading and researching agreements, while communicating with various entities in order to register our renewable assets to the proper regulatory entity. You will be responsible for attending weekly calls to provide project managers and cross-functional teams with updates on registration status and progress. Guided by the Asset Registration Sr. Advisor, and other project managers, you'll follow procedures for submitting applications to the ISO and state regulatory agencies, receiving and providing additional information as needed to complete the registration process. You'll also register and qualify our renewable energy sites, schedule testing with third parties, and submit testing reports to the ISO. Monitoring the project’s testing for compliance and making recommendations for corrective actions, if necessary, will be also part of your role.

 

  • After initial registration is complete, you'll maintain project updates, submit monthly reports to regulatory authorities, and submit completion orders and route information to ENGIE’s operations team.
  • You'll also register qualified renewable facilities for any Renewable Energy Credit (REC) programs they may qualify with the designated ISO and state agency. Next, during the commissioning period, all projects must be meticulously tested.
  • You will also monitor and assist with these commissioning efforts.   
  • You will assist with providing test results to the designated ISO and reporting, in a timely manner, when test results are available.  
  • You will also assist in re-scheduling any re-test and provide rapid  return.
  • Your work will be based out of the Houston office with a hybrid work schedule. While testing is primarily done virtually, occasional site visits may be required quarterly to ensure production meets application requirements and to familiarize yourself with project progress.
  • Strong communication is essential for professionally interacting with external regulatory agencies, as well as senior leadership and management, regarding various project information

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum Associate Degree or 2 year technical certificate where you have had exposure to industrial terminology and have gained technical analytical skills

  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience working with regulatory agencies, public utility commissions (PUC) or Independent System Operators (ISOs) such as: MISO, ERCOT, PJM, SPP, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO and EISO
  • Previous energy industry scheduling experience where you have had to meet strict deadlines following particular guidelines
  • Experience with cloud applications, such as: SharePoint, Procore, in a project environment
  • Experience with project tools such as MS Teams and MS Project

About the role

ENGIE are recruiting for a Health & Safety Supervisor based in Ireland - Site oriented. This is a Fixed Term Contract role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • ENGIE's representative on the construction site on HSE issues, coordinating activities on health, environment, and safety issues 
  • Provide support to construction teams on all aspects Health and Safety performance and management. 

  • Verify that the contracting companies observe and apply the indications contained in the project safety plan; this includes preparing and keeping up to date of the site safety induction for all contractors and visitors 

  • Ensures that companies on site and all contractors and sub-contractors are compliant with HSE rules imposed by Law and ENGIE requirements, and constantly communicates with the H&S roles within the ENGIE organization and Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) 

  • Collaborates with the PSCS to check the suitability of each company's safety plans and its scrupulous application on site. 

  • Supports the PSCS in adapting the project safety plan in relation to the evolution of the works and any changes discussed on site with the aim of improving the work 

  • Promotes risk analysis (including last minute risk assessment) for each new activity or process and for each process that must be adapted from what was planned 

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Experience of carrying out a Health and Safety role ideally in the process and/or construction industry 

  • Experience of implementing the requirements of regulations equivalent to UK CDM Regulations in Republic of Ireland  

  • An accredited Professional Health and Safety qualification is essential. 

  • A recognised Fire Risk Assessor qualification is desirable. 

  • Experience holding the PSDP role (desirable) 

  • Experience of Health and Safety auditing 

  • A good working knowledge of Republic of Ireland Health and Safety legislation, principles and practice 

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations regarding waste management; 

  • Construction site experience carried out in the renewable energy sector
