Context

 

Climate targets are becoming a very important point on the energy transition roadmap of our corporate clients, with many claims being made by 2030.

Within GEMS, the Carbon Desk and APAC Green Solutions Desk aim to develop joint upstream origination capabilities to originate high quality carbon offsets for our global portfolio and manage dynamically our positions to ensure carbon assets turnover.

The role will involve a double reporting line, to the head of carbon desk in Europe and to the head of APAC Green desk in Singapore.

 

 

 

 

Role & responsibilities

 

  • Develop relationships with reputable project developers in the APAC region
  • Structure & negotiate long term VERPA with innovative structures adding embedded optionalities in the portfolio in order to grow our network of developers and partners
  • Perform project due diligence to evaluate project risks and identify potential mitigants
  • Follow risk and governance framework to get deals validated and reach PnL targets
  • Collaborate with Trading and Downstream origination teams to develop & pitch structured product offers for their clients
  • Work with downstream origination team to analyze client needs, gather market intelligence and identify industry trends
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to inform trading strategies and decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key market stakeholders, including carbon exchanges, project developers, and brokers.
  • Ensure all trading activities adhere to relevant market regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, providing market insights and data to drive strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Contribute to automate and digitalize operations, processes and reporting

 

 

 

Key skills, knowledge and abilities

 

  • Around 10 years of experience in Business development/ structured origination with proven track record of closing deals and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers/clients; Preferably focus on energy/carbon markets
  • Passionate about the energy transition & sustainability
  • Strong knowledge of the carbon products and markets (project based carbon standards, technologies and project development processes and global carbon reporting standards (GHG protocol, ..)
  • Master degree in Economics, Finance, Business admin or quantitative studies ideally with evidence of a focus on environmental or sustainability issues
  • Taste for regulatory matters – and ability to link them to business opportunities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in Project finance and Portfolio management & trading is a plus

Role Summary 

As the Cooling Systems Engineering Manager, you will have to lead the design of district cooling, chilled water and airside systems during feasibility study and front end engineering design. You will also supervise the detailed design executed by external engineering firms and support the project management team during detailed engineering and construction phase to ensure the committed system technical performances are achieved.  

 

Reporting to the Engineering Lead - Cooling Systems, you will be part of the engineering team in our Regional Technical Office. You will work closely with Business Development teams, Construction Management team, local entities from Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines as well as our internal Digital team, Assets Performance Management team (APM) and Innovation team. You will be based in Singapore.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design for chilled water and airside energy performance contracts and district cooling systems
  • Analyse and interpret customer cooling requirements and load profiles
  • Optimise the system configuration, capacities and technology for lowest life cycle cost 
  • Provide sizing and specifications for the main equipment (chillers, pumps, thermal energy storage, cooling towers, heat exchangers, air handling units and fan coil units) with the projects constraints in mind 
  • Draft and float Requests for Proposals for external consultants, suppliers and contractors. Evaluate tender responses
  • Manage external technical consultants and review / validate their deliverables
  • Provide inputs for CAPEX and OPEX assessment 
  • Support design activities for Industry utilities as may be required
  • Review, challenge and validate designs proposed by local entity ENGIE teams 
  • Supervise the detailed design outsourced to reputable consultants: review the P&IDs, validate the control strategy of the systems,  I/O points and sequence of operation
  • Coordinate with the different project stakeholders to ensure a smooth flow of information and ensure the design is developed in collaboration with all parties with good quality and no scope gaps
  • Establish the equipment specifications and terms of reference for the tendering process
  • Review equipment vendors’ offers and ensure technical compliance
  • Review contractors’ offers and ensure technical compliance
  • Support project management team during the construction works to validate variations and ensure the technical compliance of the works
  • Develop tools, as the need arise, to standardize and streamline design calculations and engineering deliverables
  • Review proof of concept or test bedding of innovative technical solutions

  • Degree in Thermal, Mechanical, Process Engineering, Sustainable Infrastructure Engineering (Building Services) or equivalent

Context:

The GEMS APAC team is based in Singapore and offers trading services to both internal and external clients in the APAC region. We specialize in providing optimization, hedging, market operations, and analytics services to support our clients.

Role:

As a KYC Analyst, you will report to Head of KYC APAC for BP APAC. You will collaborate to the fulfillment of the missions of the department and may be involved in projects spanning multiple groups across commercial functions and staff.

 

The main responsibilities are:

  • Perform due diligence (of all risk level) on new counterparties, request KYC information, review and verify received documents, enter information into KYC systems, and make an analytical assessment of counterparty risk.
  • Review KYC clearance of existing counterparties, both on a regular review schedule and triggered by emergent events.
  • Perform bad press screening & monitoring, PEP identification, adverse news screening, and present KYC files to management .
  • Escalate and present high risk clients to senior management, Compliance, CSR, and group Sanctions Team.
  • Monitor and update internal databases for statistical reporting

 

Hard skills:

  • Experience with AML monitoring and screening tools is required.  World Check, Transparint, Lexis Nexis preferred
  • Strong research and analytical skills with good report writing skills required
  • AML/KYC work experience in major banks or oil supermajors
  • Familiar with energy commodities (Oil, Gas, Power, etc.) derivatives products and physical transactions

 

Soft skills:

As FO Support and Control Officer, your responsibilities are as follow:

 

  • Foster a strong collaborative culture with EC Commercial and EC MAS as the first point of contact, promoting Central’s best practices in BP APAC and streamline FO related processes.
  • Provide steering capabilities for our Commercial / Green solutions teams
      • Familiarize with GEMFORCE system (structure, data, ownership and features) – our CRM tool

      • Initiate onboarding with counterparty, launch KYC documentation requests, ensure completeness prior to internal circulation, and subsequent periodic renewal process
      • Coordinate ISDA negotiation, including legal and other corporate supporting documents required for onboarding
      • Participate in the credit committee with regard to new clients, onboarding and prioritization

 

    • Support Commercial initiatives implementation and business / strategic expansion (market analysis, survey)

 

  • Coordinate Communication / Marketing effort (internal / external): client event, business award, conference, Commercial newsletter, etc.
  • Work with Heads of Trading desks and BP to ensure Originator and Traders adherence to trading mandates, controls and resolution of alerts (with the objective to reduce operational risk) and ensure business continuity
  • Support BP APAC CEO on ad hoc request such as Budget preparation, performance review, dashboard / KPI reporting or any supporting document for internal meetings with ENGIE Senior management + coordinate with ENGIE SEA Chief of Staff when needed
