Your mission  
 
Within the Metier Nuclear Safety & Engineering, the groups Safety & Licensing Studies and Safety Implementation & SAR are responsible for the following activities:
Nuclear Safety-related requirement management for the projects;
 

  • Harmonized safety analyses for multidisciplinary nuclear projects;
  • Support to customers for drafting nuclear licensing and permitting documents;
  • Specific technical expertise, e.g.:

-Calculation of radiological consequences;
-Statistical Setpoint Studies;
-Internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case;  -Determination of PIE’s (Postulated Initiating Events – internal or external), importance and prioritisation of PIE’s, choice of DBA’s (Design Basis Accidents);
-Definition of the classification of systems, structures, components and;
-Assistance to the client for writing, optimization and compliance of Technical Specifications;
-Assistance to the client with respect to Integrated Management Systems (IMS);

  • Operational support and training in the various disciplines practiced;
  • Safety Culture : contribute to the understanding and implementation inside TE of nuclear safety principles;

 
Your key responsibilities  
 
As a Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer - Confirmed, you will work in several of the following domains:  
 

  • Safety Officer function within projects: assure the proper consideration of nuclear licensing and safety aspects in studies/projects; establish and manage safety requirements, analyze and ensure compliance with safety requirements, organize safety reviews, contacts with Safety Authorities; 
  • Assistance to the client’s nuclear licensing process, including the establishment of associated documents such as PSAR and FSAR (preliminary and final safety assessment report);
  • Safety analysis and assessment, e.g.: classification & qualification requirements with respect to safety functions and items important to safety, radiological consequences studies, internal and external hazards studies including definition of the load case, determination of PIE’s (postulated initiating events) and DBA’s (design basis accidents), statistical setpoint studies;

 
 
We would love to hear from people with  
 

  • You have a master degree in Engineering  with experience in nuclear safety (engineering, operations...)
  • You are a “generalist”, having knowledge of all technical disciplines within the nuclear domain, enabling you to discuss on safety aspects related to these disciplines;
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience with the general nuclear safety approach and general nuclear licensing preferably within the French or Belgian licensing process;
  • Experience with SMR projects. 
  • You speak and write French and English (Dutch is a plus) on a professional level.

Your mission   

As a QA/QC Engineer within the Mechanical Equipment Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality standards in the manufacturing, procurement, and installation of mechanical equipment for nuclear facilities. You will support the safe operation and long-term performance of nuclear power plants by ensuring that mechanical components and systems meet rigorous nuclear safety standards.

 

Your key responsibilities  

  • Examination and approval of the Contractor technical manufacturing and installation files of various mechanical equipment (steel forgings, steel structures, rotating equipment such as valves and pumps, heat exchangers, piping, …).  You will verify from a quality control point of view the conformity of the fabrication documents to be in line with technical specifications and the governing construction codes and standards. You will typically intervene during review and approval of material purchase specifications, non-destructive examination procedures, welding procedures, heat treatment procedures, special manufacturing procedures. Knowledge of one of the following codes & standards is an asset : ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (section II, section III (nuclear related), section V, section VIII , section IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B16.34, …), PED, RCCM, ESPN, ....
  • Conducting quality control missions during manufacturing and installation of mechanical equipment. You will assess the conformity of the fabrication and progress during inspection missions at manufacturer's premises, site installation activities (Energy production facility sites such as but not limited to Nuclear Power Plants). You will verify that the goods are meeting the requirements set forth in the technical and upfront approved technical and quality assurance documentation.
  • Examination and approval of fabrication quality plans (PQP, ITP, …) in consolidation with the contract owner. You will be able to use your knowledge of industrial manufacturing process to define the quality surveillance strategy. Provide technical feedback in terms of the acceptance of non-conformities encountered during manufacturing without comprising the final quality of the product.
  • Issue inspection reports following the templates of Tractebel or its Client. You will inform the contract owner or report directly to the project manager of the outcome of your missions.
  • Support the organization with quality control expertise and become quality control lead in support of the contract owner on one or multiple projects. Within this role you will be in charge for overlooking Tractebel’s project quality organisation, developing specific methodologies and tools for the quality experts involved in the project (specific reporting, checklists, …), ensuring lessons learned are captured and implemented, verifying the content of inspection reports as to follow-up on related actions with the contract owner, assisting the QA/QC team group manager with staffing requests and organization (depending on the project scale).

 We would love to hear from people with  

  • Academic Qualifications: Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical equipment manufacturing processes (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, valves, pumps), and expertise in quality control techniques (destructive and non-destructive examination). Knowledge of relevant nuclear safety standards and construction codes is a plus.

  • Experience: Experience working in a product quality control environment with a focus on industrial and nuclear-related equipment.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to coordinate and manage tasks independently with limited supervision, ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Communication and Reporting: Proficiency in drafting clear, concise reports and providing feedback to management and stakeholders.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; French or Dutch skills are an asset.

  • Flexibility and Resilience: Comfortable working under stress and adaptable to changing schedules. Willingness to travel internationally for short-term missions.

Context:

The FinOps Biomass team is attached directly to both the BP LNG & Global Biomass & the EC (Expertise Center) FinOps. Its mission is to support our clients by providing operational excellence in deal life cycle and financial information relevant for decision.

 

Role:

We are currently looking for a VIE and we offer the opportunity to work in the center of Brussels (Capital of Europe) within a dynamic and enthusiastic team .

The Financial Controller carries out the processes linked to the financial results of the Global Biomass activity, covering Biomass & Freight (for the result and balance sheet accounting indicators), excluding those carried out by the Back-Office or by the Accis shared service center (GBS).

Tasks:

  • Analyze the results to date as part of the Group performance review process (including comparison to budget/previous month/previous year)
  • Monitor the daily evolution of the trading perimeter, and solve issues identified in due-time
  • Support our clients in the development of new activities (e.g. new commodities / new trading floors / new deal types) and coordination with our stakeholders (IT/GBS/BO/Risk/FO) to ensure a correct financial set-up
  • Coordinate & collaborate with Accis & Group to guarantee that reported P&L is correctly captured in the accounting systems (SAP / SMART / CONSO)
  • Identify/propose & implement solutions (e.g. new reporting/new controls/…) in order to make our processes more efficient

Hard skills:

  • Good knowledge of the MS tools (Excel, PPT,…) + Powerbi
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting system (SAP) is a plus

Your mission   

As a Hardware Qualification Engineer, you will contribute to the operation and lifetime extension of nuclear power plants by ensuring the qualification of critical instrumentation equipment. You will play a key role in identifying obsolete components, evaluating alternatives, and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.

 

Your key responsibilities  

  • Support utilities in identifying obsolete components through supplier contacts, stock analysis, etc.
  • Manage communication with suppliers to evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Research substitute products and validate design changes for nuclear safety.
  • Draft technical specifications and purchasing requisition files.
  • Follow up on factory acceptance tests and review manufacturer records.
  • Oversee the hardware qualification process for instrumentation equipment.
  • Develop qualification programs and justifications based on current standards.
  • Select and coordinate with test laboratories.
  • Supervise qualification tests and analyze results.
  • Present and defend hardware qualification before the Client and Belgian Nuclear Safety Authority.

  • Academic Qualifications: Civil/Industrial Engineer in Electricity, Electronics, Electromechanics, or a related field..

Experience in nuclear, industrial, railway, or aeronautical safety sectors (4+ years preferred) is highly valued. Your Mission

 

As an Electrical Project Engineer at Tractebel, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering related to industrial buildings in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You ensure timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with client expectations.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • You participate in the electrical design of projects by evaluating the most appropriate technical solutions, conducting feasibility studies, and preparing cost estimates.
  • You ensure projects are executed within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with quality and H&S standards.
  • You report regularly project progress to internal and external stakeholders.

    • High voltage systems.
    • Low voltage systems (e.g., power supply, cabling, lighting, electrical diagrams, lightning protection).

  • Analyseren van de geotechnische en geofysische gegevens om grondonderzoeken te ontwerpen en te specificeren.
  • Ontwerpen en evalueren van funderingstechnieken, zoals paalfunderingen, grondverbetering, en funderingen op staal.
  • Aanpakken van stabiliteitsvraagstukken, inclusief het ontwerpen en analyseren van keerwanden en taludstabiliteit.

Your mission  
As an Electrical Engineer in our Nuclear Business Unit, you will manage the electrical power aspects for construction or renovation projects at nuclear power stations, especially for the Tihange site, across both nuclear and conventional electrical systems. 

Your key responsibilities  

 

  •  Lead design, renovation, and optimization studies for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
  • Define ratings and technical specifications for equipment such as generators, transformers, motors, AC and DC boards, emergency systems, and cabling.
  • Act as Contract Owner, managing tenders, bid analysis, negotiations, and contract awards for electrical equipment or services.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other technical disciplines and client installations.

Your mission   

As a Mechanical Equipment and Nuclear Fuel Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting nuclear power plants' operation and long-term sustainability. You will manage critical aspects of nuclear fuel procurement, spent fuel & radioactive waste management, and equipment manufacturing. Your expertise will help ensure that the plants' mechanical systems, fuel handling, and decommissioning processes are in line with the highest nuclear safety standards.

 

Your key responsibilities  

  • Drafting of requests for quotation, bid evaluation and Customer support for negotiation; 
  • Contract follow-up from the kick-off meeting to site delivery and acceptance tests;
  • Equipment Manufacturing follow-up in close cooperation with the Quality Surveillance group and with the Customer;
  • Supervision of interventions in nuclear power units;
  • Assisting and technical expertise in support of Customers and Plant Operators; 
  • Interfacing between Utilities and Contractors;
  • Assisting the plant operator and the Customer in meeting and technical discussions with the Belgian Safety Authorities;
  • Organizing of and participating into reviewing activities of safety files for spent fuel and radioactive waste casks and damaged spent fuel treatment;
  • Participating in international tenders in the framework of the Mechanical Department nuclear activities.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborative Projects: Work alongside senior experts to perform risk and safety management activities during the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance phases of a wide variety of  industrial projects.
