ENGIE Advocates for Inclusion and Equality for the LGBTQ+ Community

By ENGIE - 17 May 2023 - 14:41

On this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, ENGIE reminds us of its position as a Group where each and every person has the freedom to express and be themselves and feel welcome. No matter their orientation or gender identity.

Launched in 2021, the Friends network brings together LGBTQ+ employees and allies. Along with other Group networks, such as Pride NorthAm (in North America) and Pride Impact (a network within ENGIE Impact), there are a total of about 350 rallying members worldwide. Their main objective is creating an open and safe work environment for LGBTQ+ employees, making ENGIE an employer of choice. This is also a supportive community where these employees work closely with a wider range of networks, such as French association L’Autre Cercle, to ensure that individuals feel accepted and comfortable in the workplace.

The Friends ERG (Employee Resource Group) has worked to raise awareness of these points amongst top management and employees through a variety of communications, events, and webinars.

LGBTQ+ issues make up one of the 5 pillars of our “Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion” policy deployed throughout the Group via Be.U@ENGIE in 2022. Being yourself, unique and united are this policy’s core values.
