About the role

ENGIE are recruiting for an Health and Safety Officer based in one of our UK offices. This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package. 

 

The purpose of the role is to assist the Head of SHEQ and play a key role in ensuring that all entities within the Flexible Generation and Retail division operate to the highest standard of Health, Safety and Environment through the delivery of the HSE strategy and engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of a positive health and safety culture.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Flexible Generation and Retail UK business on all aspects Health and Safety performance and management.
  • Provide support to Project teams on all aspects Health and Safety performance and management.
  • Assist with the attaining and maintaining of ISO accreditations.
  • Assist with and contribute to Due Diligence studies for new acquisitions.
  • Support Busines Development regarding Health and Safety requirements.
  • Provide advice to Business Developement and Project teams in order to help them comply with their duties under CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Assist in the development of key performance indicators, both pro-active and re-active.

 

Key Requirements

  • Experience of carrying out a Health and Safety role ideally in the process and/or construction industry
  • Experience of implementing the requirements of the UK CDM Regulations
  • An accredited Professional Health and Safety qualification is essential.
  • A recognised Fire Risk Assessor qualification is desirable
  • A good working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, principles and practice
  • Good communication skills
  • Good written skills and be fully computer literate – PowerPoint, Excel, Word

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

About the role

We are recruiting a Plant Operator based  in our plant known Gorst Energy in Exeter. This is a Permanent role, working  45 shift hours per week(including weekend shifts on a rota). There will also be an on-call rota.  

As a Plant Operator you will be responsible for the effective and efficient running of the anaerobic digestion plant and assist the Plant Manager to ensure the plants run continuously at optimal efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Supporting the Plant Manager in the day to day running of the plant including feeding and routine monitoring
  • Hands on role in assisting with the feedstock deliveries, storage and loading feedstock into digestion plant using a telehandler.  Working alongside the Assistant Manager to ensure accurate recording of feedstock deliveries.
  • Plant optimisation / cleaning and assisting the Plant Maintenance team with general maintenance including minor fault repairs on pumps and motors.  Ensuring that all preventative and reactive maintenance is carried out in accordance with the maintenance plans within set timeframes.
  • Responsible for plant daily/weekly/monthly checks and ensuring that these are carried out within the timescales set and recorded accurately in line with the Company protocols.
  • Assist the plant maintenance team in ensuring good stock control of the site stores and keeping the area clean and tidy and well organised.
  • Responsible for site cleanliness and for maintaining excellent housekeeping on both plants.  This includes some general maintenance of the green landscape areas within both plants including weeding, spraying (training to be provided) and strimming etc.
  • Monitoring IT control systems and responding accordingly. This will include remote monitoring when on call or off site.
  • Adhering to, monitoring and responding appropriately to site processes and procedures.  Checking with the Assistant Manager/Plant Maintenance Manager, or in their absence responsible for, ensuring all contractors have correct permits to work and paperwork in place prior to any commencement of works

What You Can Expect

As a Power Settlements Senior Advisor within Commercial Operations of ENGIE Energy Marketing North America (EEMNA) in Houston, you will be responsible for ensuring proper settlements with Independent System Operators (ISOs) and or complex structured agreements with bilateral counterparties. 

 

  • Reconcile variances between projected and actual settlement values
  • Conduct thorough analysis of settlement data and provide constructive feedback to Asset Managers

  • Manage calculation templates for Power Purchase Agreements for energy customers

  • Perform analytical research to determine root cause of settlement discrepancies
  • Ensure ISO/counterparty settlements are captured in the transaction management system correctly

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in which you completed courses in an analytical field such as economics, finance, accounting, renewable energy, sustainability, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a relevant role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of energy markets and familiarity with various ISOs (including Pennsylvania New Jersey Maryland Interconnection (PJM), Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), NYISO, Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), Southwest Power Pool (SPP), Independent System Operator New England (ISO-NE), Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), California Independent System Operator (CAISO))
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and good attention to detail with the ability to organize and analyze large quantities of data
  • Proficiency in using Aligne, PowerOptix, PI, or similar systems
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, must be able to exhibit solid understanding of Excel formulas and pivot tables
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to complete tasks in accordance with internal and external deadlines
  • Experience in reading and interpreting Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) contracts

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy; Must be able to work at least 5 days and 40 hours per week at ENGIE’s offices in Houston. Some level of remote work may be allowed at supervisor’s discretion.  Scheduling on some weekends and holidays is required

Compensation

Salary Range: $112,000 – $172,500 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

As the Senior Systems Engineer (SE) is a key player of a diverse team developing cutting-edge energy storage solutions. This position requires technical expertise in battery storage technologies, with focus on lithium-ion batteries. This role includes identifying project requirements, designing battery energy storage systems, specifying system components, supporting the business development team, managing projects from design to operation, and supporting the operations team. This position is part of the Flexible Generation & Retail Global Business Unit (FGBU) in North America. 

 

Every day you will work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to specify suitable system components, define the system design, calculate the size of the battery system throughout the life of the project, and generate comprehensive bills-of-material for material and labor cost evaluation. Additionally, you will manage all technical aspects on project execution, from the design phase through development, installation, commissioning, and operation; primary EPC engineering interface.

 

  • Provide support to internal business team in engaging prospective utility companies and Authority Having Jurisdiction
  • Identify and articulate business development requirements
  • Formulate high-level detailed system design drawings and layouts for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Primary interface with the project Owner’s Engineer
  • Ensure Engie’s BESS internal guidelines are followed
  • Train Operations & Maintenance (O&M) technician and support with troubleshooting system issues
  • Responsible for oversight, considering company policies and procedures, codes and standards, and regulations, of engineering consultants’ and other contractors’ electrical designs and construction as required to deliver the assigned projects
  • Act independently with minimal direction and, as a project team member, must be able to work cooperatively to deliver quality electrical engineering for the project, interconnection agreements, and the team’s goals for a successful project
  • Must keep up to date on new technologies and regulatory conditions including codes, industry standards, best practices, customer requirements, and other relevant standards.
  • Review system drawing sets for purposes of bidding, permitting, and construction in accordance with ENGIE standards, NEC, IEEE and any other local codes

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in renewable systems engineering
  • Extensive expertise in battery technology for storage applications including batteries, inverters, transformers, substations, protection and controls, battery management and energy management systems
  • Profound technical knowledge, particularly in the realm of battery storage technologies or renewable energy systems is a plus.
  • Ability to create, read and interpret construction plans and specifications

 

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies 

 

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for all Electrical Requirement of site includes with quick avilability during Emergency conditions on site. He shall execute all the maintance & report as per the approved schedule.

KEY RESPONSILBILITIES:

  • Routine Inspection & repair of Electrical components like ACB, UPS, breaker, capacitor bank, ATS etc.
  • Daily meter reading and logging of incoming lines and out going feeders.
  • Daily log reports for the 24 hour operation.
  • Preparation of periodical reports.
  • Perform periodic preventive maintenance as per schedule.
  • Ensure that all operations and maintenance activities are properly recorded & documented.
  • Perform regular housekeeping of the LV room, generator room, SMDB room.
  • Executing the work order issued by the superiors with specified standards.
  • Response the emergencies and breakdowns.
  • Ensure all portable equipments are in correct order and use safely.
  • Perform the daily inspection checklist.
  • Assist to perform the HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing and other works when and where required.
  • Advises Facilities Supervisor concerning major repairs/ changes required.
  • Complies with local rules, regulations and codes and works.
  • To be ready and willing to cooperate with and assist other trades, within the department, to carry out R & M duties.
  • Monitors performance and adjust electrical equipment to obtain maximum efficiency.
  • Participate in Emergency Evacuation procedures.
  • Participate in Energy saving/ cost saving proposals.
