Job Purpose/Mission 

Engie Energy Access prides itself on always putting the customer first; the Customer Service Agents are at the forefront of providing world class customer service to our EEA customers across Uganda. The role will run temporary for a period of 3 months, it will deal with customer repayment and help resolve customer complaints while giving the best possible customer experience and going beyond their call of duty when required.     

Responsibilities 

Creating a Positive Customer Experience  

  • Make outgoing calls to EEA customers to attain given work targets  

  • Be empathetic and compassionate while dealing and managing customers complaints  

  • Educate and emphasize to customers about the finance agreement they are signing and the commitment they are making with EEA.  

  • Exercise patience with customers and make sure to follow up on all customer issues until they are fully resolved.  

  • Endeavor to give all EEA customers great end to end customer experience  

  • Relationship management to increase client retention  

  • Always enter accurate and honest information into the EEA data systems.  

  • Capture data of high quality that can be used to better serve our customers.  

Product Knowledge  

  • Learn all product details, specifications, prices, and capabilities to be equipped with all product information.  

  • Always provide accurate product information to customers  

  • Should be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the customer finance agreement  

  • Take the initiative to continuously improve your product knowledge and soft customer service skills to better serve our customers and develop your career.

The Role:

Independently establish and maintain strong business relationships with a designated portfolio of clients within a high-volume product family. What You Can Expect

As a Lead Wind Technician, you will report to Ontario West Operations Manager and operate and maintain the site by optimizing wind generation availability and performance through established procedures with the highest regard for health, safety and environment compliance.

  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by utilizing established procedures
  • Facilitate and implement all daily work as the on-site Tech, including coordinating with service providers, contractors, producing Reports including but not limited to Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports
  • Operate site equipment, both directly and remotely
  • Monitor site performance
  • Coordinate Switching and Curtailments with relevant local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs).
  • Ensure site equipment is kept at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability
  • Demonstrate work planning skills, activity scheduling and follow up to assure work conformance
  • Perform routine inspections – safely using tools (e.g. multimeter and Infrared Camera)
  • Manage contractors, ensuring quality work, completed safely and promptly
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills that include listening to other’s ideas and viewpoints, earning trust, and resolving conflict situations
  • Primary point of contact for all landowners

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-year diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience industrial Medium voltage or High voltage
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience at a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) site or a substation Power Plant
  • Trades qualifications an asset: (Lineman, Electrician, Millwright, Control Technician)
  • Ability to effectively use diagnostic equipment
  • Proficient with using a personal computer and software tools to analyze plant performance data and prepare reports or presentations
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain substation equipment such as: electrical control circuits, transformers, high voltage breakers and collection lines
  • Be proficient in using Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System’s & other associated WTG monitoring systems
  • Required to be on call as deemed necessary by your direct manager
  • Must be able to respond to plant emergencies outside of normal working hours
  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Verbal and non-verbal, i.e., formal reports
  • Must be able to operate a computer terminal (or have the capability of learning), calculator, etc.
  • High Voltage (HV) experience is preferred; Able to attain AVO substation technician certification within 12 months of hire
  • Must be able to read and understand an electric single line diagram for purpose of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and troubleshooting

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Must be available to travel domestically & internationally up to 20% of the time to support operations at other Canadian region sites, training and conferences, with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record

What You Can Expect

As a Groundskeeper in Goliad, TX, you will report to the site daily and work as the main point of contact in keeping and maintaining the vegetation, such as but not limited to weed eating, using a medium size agriculture tracker, and using a box blade for road repair.

 

You will also oversee the regular scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting for the equipment and vehicles on site. You will receive and report status updates on assignments and projects from the scheduling software on a computer terminal in the office. This work is completed independently amongst a team of technicians.

  • Able to use hand tools and drive a medium size agricultural tracker 
  • Must be able to active read and interpret information such as but not limited to instruments, gauges, and manuals

Additional Details

  • This role requires daily attendance at worksite
  • Must be available to travel to other sites for trainings and assistance as needed per site local site development typically on a weekly basis.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive on site and to other company trainings, events and meetings

Compensation

Salary Range:  $22.36 - $32.73 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

What You Can Expect

ENGIE North America is hiring a Solar Technician for our Solar Site located near Goliad, TX.  

 

As a Solar Technician, your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs.

 

  • Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
  • Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
  • While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician
  • You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned Alternating Current (AC) / Direct Current (DC) electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites
  • Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor

 

 

Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring daily travel to worksites
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
