Job Description – Landscape Engineer (Softscape & Irrigation)

Job Purpose:

To oversee the maintenance and enhancement of landscape assets, including softscape, turf, trees, shrubs, and the associated irrigation systems across Yas Island. The Landscape Engineer ensures service quality, sustainability, and compliance with KPIs through active planning, supervision, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage daily landscape and irrigation operations, ensuring contractor compliance and adherence to standards.
- Supervise maintenance of softscape elements including turf areas, ground covers, palms, shrubs, and flower beds.
- Monitor and optimize irrigation systems (manual and automated), including mainlines, laterals, emitters, solenoid valves, and controllers.
- Conduct inspections to assess plant health, pest/disease conditions, water adequacy, and system performance.
- Review seasonal planting schedules, soil conditioning plans, and pest control activities.
- Coordinate with contractors on irrigation flushing, pressure testing, valve repair, filter cleaning, and pump performance.
- Maintain asset inventory, irrigation zoning maps, and ensure updates are reflected in CAFM.
- Ensure sustainability goals are met through water use efficiency and waste minimization.
- Liaise with master developers, utility teams, and events team on landscape protection and reinstatement.
- Participate in landscape improvement projects, including scope definition, design review, and execution monitoring.
- Report monthly KPIs, audit findings, and visual inspection records to the Facilities Manager.

Health, Safety & Quality:

- Enforce HSE practices including PPE, work permits, and safe use of machinery (trimmers, chainsaws, etc.).
- Conduct toolbox talks and field safety checks.
- Ensure irrigation technicians and gardeners are trained and certified in relevant safety and horticultural procedures.

Skills Required:

- Strong knowledge of horticulture, irrigation system hydraulics, and water conservation.
- Familiarity with seasonal plant selection and pest management.
- Understanding of landscaping tools, automated controllers, and plant health indicators.
- Proficiency in inspection reporting, KPI monitoring, and CAFM usage.
- Strong coordination and vendor management skills.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 4–6 years experience in landscaping and irrigation maintenance, including 2+ years in supervision.
- Certification in Irrigation Systems or Sustainable Landscaping is preferred.
- UAE driving license is required..

- Authorized to inspect, plan, and direct landscape maintenance and irrigation operations.
- Authorized to verify contractor performance and raise work orders through CAFM.

Job Purpose:

     The Data Center Mechanical Facility Engineer will be responsible for Data Center Mechanical Engineering Operations within a Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting. He is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, Pump, and Generator equipment within the data centre operates at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all Mechanical-related facility operations within a given data centre. Data centre equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, Secondary Pumps, Irrigation pumps and building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

·       The primary responsibility of the position is to manage (operationally) the data centre's mechanical (cooling and Plumbing) infrastructure.

·       Ability to collaborate with the project team to establish new infrastructure equipment standards and operational methods for all the data centres and to ensure that existing standards are implemented.

·       Hold primary responsibility for the maintenance of data centre mechanical equipment from HVAC to complex piping and plumbing works.

·       Using industry best practices to ensure proper cooling analysis such as CFD analysis.

·       Liaise with the Operations Management team, facilities, IT teams, and procurement to ensure that all projects progress smoothly, on schedule, and within budget.

·       These projects include new installations, operational changes, scheduled maintenance, and equipment upgrades.

·       Manage contracts related to data centre infrastructure, liaise with legal on contracts, and work directly with contractors to ensure timely completion of all work.

·       Stay abreast of industry trends and new technologies related to cooling, monitoring systems, and floor layout.

·       Ensure best practices and global standards are in place for the data centre.

·       Perform daily checks of Mechanical Pumps, HVAC, BMS, VRV, VRF and life safety systems.

·       Collect and analyze data on various computing systems, maintain historical records, and provide management with statistical analysis as requested.

·       Monitor and adjust cooling in the data centre using DCIM and BMS to maintain optimal operating and environmental conditions.

·       Generate job cards & incident management tickets for the Data Center facility.

·       Work with DCO managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability and efficiency.

·       Review DC contract compliance & ensure all SLAs are achieved.

·       Business interface with DC Management for day-to-day operational requirements.

·       Assist in recruiting efforts.

·       Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

·       Maintain, and operate all Mechanical-related systems and associated equipment, building management system.

·       Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.

·       Prepare and submit Monthly reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.

·       Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.

Your mission  
As ‘Design Engineer Dismantling Activities’, you are responsible for the sound roll-out of all the projects, tasks and responsibilities entrusted to you (which could possibly require onsite interventions in Tihange or Doel sites). In close collaboration with your colleagues and your team leader, you contribute to the preparation of bids, the Engineering Studies and the projects in the field of Dismantling of Nuclear facilities.

  • conducting technical studies for the dismantling of nuclear facilities;
  • writing technical specifications, follow-up of orders and commissioning of nuclear decommissioning processes;
  • writing offers;
  • verifying the technical work performed by your peers;

Your mission  
As Senior Civil Works Site Engineer in our Proximity department of the Metier ‘Civil Engineering & Infra’, part of the Business Area Nuclear, you will address the technical follow-up of the civil works related to the different projects that are ongoing and will be realized in the frame of

  • Long Term Operations – namely the projects associated to the life time extension of Doel 4;
  • Decommissioning and Dismantling – namely both the new build and modifications associated to the final shutdown of Doel 1,  2 and 3;
  • Plant Operational Support – namely the civil works assistance we deliver to the operational power plants (e.g. from maintenance works for cooling towers or other important structures, to completely new build structures, as e.g. Spent Fuel Storage Facilities);

You will join the Site Team under the mentorship of the Site Lead.


 

Your key responsibilities  

  • interfacing between Tractebel’s back office, the Client and Contractors realizing the works;
  • inspecting the Contractors’ execution activities, verifying compliance with execution drawings and documents (erection methodology etc.);
  • verifying and monitoring of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements;
  • management of the technical interfaces between Contractors;
  • management and follow up of main design modifications;
  • participation to regular meetings with the stakeholders: progress, challenges, interfaces, HSE, etc.;
  • drafting work orders and site orders, issuing notes on the execution and shortcomings, and checking the progress reports prepared by the Contractors;
  • continually exchanging information on developments in work, studies, etc.;
     


We would love to hear from people with  

  • a Master degree in civil/structural engineering;
  • relevant professional experience in an engineering or contractor’s environment, including design assignments and erection follow-up, preferably in an industrial environment is an advantage;
  • fluency in Dutch, and either French or English;

Your mission  

As Senior Structural Engineer in our Design Brussels Civil Works department of the Metier ‘Civil Engineering & Infra’, part of the Business Area Nuclear, you will contribute to our mission everyday by playing a crucial role in  a wide variety of civil construction activities. Those activities are ranging from newbuilt projects that often run over several years, short-term renovation projects as well as punctual assistance to the Operator. From a technical point of view, you will work with a broad range of disciplines. You will manage the interface between Client, Operator and the team.

 


Your key responsibilities  

  • You oversee the design and calculations of nuclear related structures and building subjected to internal and external hazards;
  • You perform structural analyses using FEM code;
  • You participate actively in the dynamic analysis of nuclear structures and components to various hazards: earthquake, gas explosion, tornado, plane crash accident;
  • You participate in the writing of technical specifications (design requirements) and the review of technical documents issued by the Contractor;
  • You participate in the preparation of offers or the invitation to tender;
  • Mentoring of Junior Calculation Engineers  and sharing your experience and expertise with the team 
  • You check calculation notes of less experienced engineers according to the QA policy of the company.

 

 

 

We would love to hear from people with 

  • A Civil Engineering degree with at least 20 years of experience in structural analysis and design;
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards (Eurocodes as well as American Standards such as ASCE, ACI, USNRC (SRP and RG), …);
  • The capability of predicting the response of structures under static and dynamic loading;
  • Experience in general purpose Finite Element and structural codes (such as ANSYS, SCIA, ..) for static loads or dynamic loads , in case of linear or non-linear analysis ;
  • A strong background in design of concrete structure against earthquake, explosion, tornado and plane crash accident is required;
  • Knowledge of nuclear domain and safety (this is a must);
  • Knowledge in concrete aging mechanisms is an asset;

Senior Design Engineer

The Senior Design Engineer (ACMV) will work on projects involving chilled water systems, building air side (air handling units / fan coil units), mechanical ventilation, district cooling systems, industrial process cooling. The role will require the following responsibilities: 

  1. During concept/basic design stage 

  • Lead conceptual/basic design, i.e.: 

  • Assess and understanding the client cooling load requirements and profiles. 

  • Select the best configuration and sizing for the main equipment (chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers…) with the project’s constraints in mind (efficiency target, level of CAPEX, site constraints, operation and maintenance constraints…). 

  • Design associated water reticulation systems. 

  • Liaise with OEMs and potential contractors as required 

  • Calculate (and commit to) the annual system efficiencies 

  • Assess the project CAPEX using in-house tools and methodology 

  • Provide inputs for OPEX assessment 

  • Present final recommended design to Regional technical engineering team for review and approval. 

  • Support the Business Development team in discussions / presentations to the client 

  • Prepare RFPs, terms of references, and specifications for main equipment tenders, EPC contract tenders, engineering consultancy (detailed design) tenders. Review and evaluate the offers for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness. 

  • Review and validate concept/basic designs proposed by other EM engineers. 

 

  1. During detailed design stage: 

  • Oversee the detailed design performed by the EPC contractors or external consultants, review and validate the drawings, calculations, technical submittals, control strategy of the systems, I/O points and sequence of operation 

  • Coordinate with the different project stakeholders (client, consultants, Qualified Person / Professional Engineer, vendors, contractors, internal stakeholders…) to ensure a smooth flow of information and ensure the design is developed in collaboration with all parties, in line with committed performances, with good quality and no scope gaps 

  • Support ENGIE’s project management team during the construction and commissioning works to validate variations and ensure the technical compliance of the works 

 

  1. Others: 

  • Monitor the ACMV technology market to propose robust and innovative technical solutions 

  • Help to coach junior colleagues in technical aspects of ACMV systems
