Responsibilities:

 

  • Participate in preparing technical specifications for new wind, photovoltaic, and energy storage projects.
  • Review projects and optimize costs for wind turbine foundation construction.
  • Support the department responsible for the construction of new facilities (wind and PV farms) in the selection of technical solutions, verification of project documentation, acceptance of construction work, and functional testing.
  • Assist the department responsible for facility operation in assessing their technical condition.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering department within the ENGIE group.
  • Work with the Development, Projects, and Production departments, providing technical support for projects from concept to implementation..

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Higher engineering education (civil engineering).
  • Construction licenses in the design and execution fields.
  • Knowledge in the construction and operation of renewable energy projects.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position within energy engineering, extractive, industrial, or construction environments, preferably in the wind, photovoltaic, or renewable energy sectors, construction, or conventional energy.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Fluent in Polish and English

3. JOB PURPOSE

The CSP Asset and Performance Manager is a senior engineering role responsible for coordinating the comprehensive management and optimization of multiple Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants. This role focuses on ensuring the operational excellence, financial performance, and long-term sustainability of the assets by working closely with the teams at each CSP plant and leveraging the technical and financial expertise of the main shareholder, ENGIE Southern Africa (Pty)Ltd.

 

4. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.         Forecasts and Production Budgets:

  • Collaborate with plant teams to develop and manage annual and long-term KPI’s and production forecasts.
  • Coordinate the preparation and oversight of production budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and operational capabilities.
  • Monitor and analyse production data to provide guidance and adjust forecasts and budgets as needed.

2.         Maintenance and Spare Parts:

  • Work with plant maintenance teams to implement and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate the management of spare parts inventory, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support maintenance teams in minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of plant equipment.

3.         Outage Management:

  • Assist in planning and managing scheduled outages for maintenance and upgrades.
  • Develop contingency plans with plant teams for unscheduled outages to ensure rapid response and minimal disruption.
  • Analyse outage events to identify root causes and implement corrective actions in coordination with plant teams.

4.         Operational Excellence:

  • Promote a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across plant teams.
  • Facilitate the implementation of best practices and industry standards to optimize plant performance.
  • Coordinate the development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all plant operations.

5.         Health and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations by coordinating with plant safety teams.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments in collaboration with plant teams.
  • Promote a safe working environment through training and awareness programs, leveraging Engie's expertise.

6.         Plant Optimization:

  • Identify and implement opportunities for improving plant efficiency and performance in collaboration with plant teams.
  • Utilize advanced modelling and production analysis to optimize plant operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide guidance to plant teams to achieve optimal results.

7.         Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis:

  • Lead fault finding and root cause analysis efforts with plant teams for operational issues.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues in coordination with plant teams.
  • Document findings and share knowledge with the teams to enhance overall plant reliability.

8.         Modelling and Production Analysis:

  • Develop and utilize models to simulate plant performance under various conditions, working with plant technical teams.
  • Conduct production analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to refine models and improve accuracy, leveraging Engie's expertise.

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Qualification

•           Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). Advanced degree preferred.

•           Minimum of 12 to 15  years of experience in CSP plant operations or similar energy sector.

•           Proven experience in asset management, plant optimization, and performance monitoring.

•           Strong understanding of CSP plant subsystems and their interdependencies.

•           Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

•           Strong leadership and communication abilities.

•           Proficiency in relevant software tools and modelling techniques.

Work Environment: The CSP Asset and Performance Manager will primarily work on-site at the CSP plants, with occasional travel to other plant locations and corporate offices. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including maintenance teams, operations staff, financial analysts, and executive management.

What You Can Expect

Scheduling Advisor, to join our high performing team. The Scheduling Advisor will work within the Project Controls Office within the Grid Scale Renewables Team. The Scheduling Advisor will interface and work collaboratively on cross-functional internal and external project teams to support managing, training, and maintaining project scheduling processes, procedures, and best practices services throughout the entire duration of the project life cycle.  Including leading a team of schedulers/ planners as well as managing their own portfolio of projects, while ensuring Company objectives are being met. 

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in the various disciplines of project scheduling and control; maintains ownership for the development and continuous improvement of scheduling policies, standards, and guides that standardize to optimize project schedule deliverables.
  • Work independently to monitor the portfolio’s schedule health and viability metrics and make improvements as required.  This includes overseeing a team of internal and external resources to ensure the project portfolio is continuously supported through its lifecycle
  • This is a detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue and investigate underlying features surrounding information being reported in order to understand project related risks/ issues and provide solutions
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to project scope, contract requirements, schedule progress and performance
  • Routinely produce, assess, and distribute weekly and monthly project status reports. 

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Project or Construction Management, Information Systems, or related field is preferred.   Including Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or similar certification is preferred.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience working as a project scheduler/ planner and able to illustrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties required
  • Advanced proficiency in a scheduling software such as Microsoft Project Professional and Project Web App (PWA) or Primavera P6.
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to create customized schedule analysis tools using data import, sorting and filtering, pivot tables, graphs, charts, and custom formulas (such as VLOOKUP), etc..  Including experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) key performance indicators (KPI’s) and S-Curve calculation and analysis.
  • Project schedule development (according to best practices of the Project Management Institute), using the Critical Path Method.   Including the ability to conduct forensic schedule analysis using dynamic CPM schedule models.

Compensation

Salary Range: $21.00-$34.00 USD hourly

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
