Requirements

General Overview:

To provide finance business partnering support to International Power and subsidiaries. To be an effective partner to the International Power (IP) budget holders and International Power Finance team, providing support, challenge, expertise and a clear framework as appropriate.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Finance Business Partner support to International Power cost departments and Thermal GBU.
  • Facilitate decision making by providing periodic and adhoc analysis that transforms financial data into actionable information for operational and strategic decision making.
  • Work closely with the management, country CFO and Thermal Management to analyse the periodic trends/variances to plan and as appropriate, contribute to any relevant Management Information reporting.
  • Identifying key business drivers behind the numbers for meaningful executive level summaries and analytics
  • Contribute to the monthly operating expense, capital spending and headcount analysis relevant to forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Lead and attend Functional reviews using aforementioned analysis to provide insight to feedback performance using relevant deliverables and reports
  • Significantly contribute and/or potentially lead projects that integrate and rationalise delivery of improvements.
  • Plan and Govern the recharges prevalent to other group entities pursuant to the activities in T&G, On shore wind, Thermal, collaborating with all Key Stakeholders across the business, including various old legacy IP agreements.
  • Ensure consistency and reliability of reporting and that reporting structures reflect the changing way our business is managed.
  • Ensure any monthly variance analysis at both a COI and SG&A & COS level, and for the current year is well understood and completed in a succinct and timely fashion.  
  • Lead the budget process for each department and liaise with key stakeholders to discuss current and future events that could impact the cost base, ensuring the budgets are completed as accurately as possible and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain the books and records of IPM Energy Limited, through drafting of financial statements and audit thereof. Ensure payroll is properly recorded and staff recharges are properly effected. Prepare VAT returns.
  • Manage bank payments; ensuring all payments included expenses are appropriately approved and recorded.
  • Support the GEM Finance Manager with the Trading Recharge, ensure costs are correct to what is permissible in the SLA.
  • Monthly reporting of variance to budget analysis to country CFO
  • To work on continuous improvement projects, taking ownership of particular workstreams and ensuring on time delivery against agreed timescales.

Propósito del puesto: 

 

La posición implica la realizar pruebas de los controles internos dentro de la campaña de autoevaluación de ENGIE México, la cual se extiende a través de tres Unidades de Negocio Globales (GBUs) y GEMS (Mexcom y SYEM). Será encargado de llevar a cabo y supervisar tanto los controles manuales como automáticos, en los cuales tenemos propiedad, apoyar con la planeación y coordinación de todas las actividades relacionadas con la Metodología de Control Interno para ENGIE México.Adicionalmente, fomentar la mejora continua de las operaciones de control interno de la organización.

 

Perfil Ocupacional y experiencia:

Licenciatura en Contaduría, Finanzas, Administración, Negocios, Ingeniería Industrial o afín.

Conocimiento en la realización de testing de controles, Metodología COSO, SoD (Segregación de Funciones) y tener un dominio de excel avanzado.

Ingles intermedio/avanzado. (Indispensable)

Algunas de tus funciones serán:

Coordinar y llevar a cabo los testing de los controles internos, que cubre las tres GBUs y GEMS (Mexcom y SYEM), reportando las incidencias detectadas durante las pruebas.

Ejecución de controles manuales que tiene cargo el área y monitoreo de los controles automáticos (Highbond).

Realizar la revisión y elaborar el reporte anual de End User Applications (EUA´s) para asegurar su implementación en la organización.

Apoyar en la elaboración de presentaciones, reportes e informes para el management local.

What You Can Expect

As a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Senior Analyst, you will focus on financial analysis, reporting and budgeting for ENGIE North America's Regional Services and be responsible for cross-functional G&A analysis of Northam. Additionally, your monitoring of key financial indicators will provide early alerts to management and actionable information to drive regional services forward. This position, based in Houston, TX, reports to the Vice President FP&A. 

 

  • Direct the development of annual budgets, re-forecasts, and medium-term business plans (MTP), collaborating with other Business divisions ensuring consistency with ENGIE and partners guidelines
  • Under the supervision of the VP FP&A,  prepare supporting materials
  • Ensure the Regional Services and more broadly the NorthAm budget and MTP data is accurately and timely loaded into reporting systems identifying
  • Implement efficiency and control enhancing process improvements

As the Associate General Counsel in Chicago, IL or Houston, Texas you will be responsible for providing legal support together with a team of legal professionals to ENGIE’s Energy Solutions Global Business Unit (ES-GBU) in connection with its distributed solar and storage business with provides solar, solar plus storage, and standalone storage solutions for C&I behind-the-meter, Muni-CoOp and community solar customers. Every day, you will report to the Vice President & General Counsel to support for project and platform mergers & acquisitions (M&A), project financing matters (including tax equity and debt financing and cash equity spelldown); assistance in overall compliance with federal state and/or local laws and regulations; and such other transactional and contractual matters for ENGIE North America and it’s subsidiaries as may be required from time to time.

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • You must be licensed to practice law in at least one state in the United States (preferably Texas or Chicago)
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of combined legal experience in the United States with a law firm or major corporate legal department; practice with a top-tier firm and combination of outside counsel and prior in-house experience with both energy transactional, solar, and storage project development and finance experience
  • Deep expertise in wholesale energy markets with strong communication skills is needed to perform this role

What You Can Expect

As our Acquisition, Investment, and Financial Advisor (AIFA) Senior Manager, you will develop business cases and provide supporting project financial analyses to guide the investment for greenfield investment, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) projects.  You can work a hybrid schedule from our Houston, TX office.

 

Every day you will be responsible for leading the valuation, structuring guidance, advise on commercial agreements, risk allocation, bankability of contracts, financing alternatives, and expected investment returns throughout the business development process of investments, mergers and acquisition, and project financing plans. You will present investment opportunities to ENGIE leadership, defend project economics, and risks for the review committees.

 

  • Develop, analyze, evaluate and recommend financial options and proposals as they relate to business development projects or other funding needs
  • Advise internal stakeholders in understanding appropriate risk allocation, bankability of terms and conditions of various project contracts and provide general structuring advice and optimization of returns throughout the business development process
  • Structure, negotiate and execute financing documents (internal or project finance) for medium to large size transactions
  • Identify main project economic and financial risks and advise on the appropriate mitigation factors and definition of appropriate contingencies
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decisions, following group guidelines. Maintain responsibility for the accuracy and correct incorporation of relevant inputs to such models. Propose and implement relevant sensitivity analysis for investment files
  • Assist the business development decision making process and manage internal approvals process for new economic commitments and associated financing arrangements
  • Create and lead presentations for lender and management updates and discussions
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the AIFA team

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Math, or a STEM-focused degree program where you have learned project management, project financing, investments, equity, mergers, acquisitions, power, energy, or renewable market skills
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in all aspects of project finance and M&A transactions where you lead the modeling/analysis, drive the structuring, negotiating legal documentation, execution of transactions and detailed financial modeling for each project from start of the development process to the successful closing of an investment or acquisition
  • Broad power industry expertise, including working in retail, energy services, renewables and / or generation markets
  • Investment analysis experience in the clean energy sector at a developer, fund, bank, or consultant
  • Detailed financial modeling, including a project finance and accounting component, with a strong proficiency working in EXCEL  You have worked in environments where you have worked alone or in a team structuring and closing M&A and/or financing transactions, including reviewing, and negotiating legal documentation
  • Knowledge of US merchant power markets drivers, hedging
  • instruments, Tax Equity Structures, and IRS requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple parties including banks, consultants, lawyers as well as internal stakeholders (management, business development, legal, technical, insurance, tax, and accounting) to bring transactions to conclusion in a challenging environment

Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300.00 – $235,341.00 USD annually

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
