The Business Area Global Nuclear of Tractebel seeks for its "Plant Operations & LTO" department a (m/f): 

 

“PROJECT MANAGER LTO Ageing” 

 

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT 

The Department is responsible for all the projects related to the studies and the modifications of existing Belgian nuclear power plants (Doel/Tihange) including LTO (Long Term Operation) projects.  These projects can cover from the pre-feasibility studies up to final commissioning of the installations, including feasibility, design, procurement and on-site realization activities. 

Within this Department you are responsible for projects (studies and/or modifications) related to the nuclear power plants in Belgium, with a focus on LTO Ageing (EI&C, mechanical and civil works).

YOUR JOB 

  • You manage / follow-up the design and/or implementation of the project; 
  • You have the design and investment budgets established and you consolidate them for the project as a whole  You determine the overall time schedule, you control the services provided for the project and you monitor the progress in terms of meeting the delivery times and the expected profitability; 
  • After consulting the experts, you define the tasks and you empower your project team (that you functionally lead) to carry them out; 
  • You organise meetings with the client and support the client, as a partner, in the delivering Tractebel added value to the project; 
  • You take care of internal contacts with the competence centers and support departments (legal, finance, IT, risk management, communication, …); 
  • You coordinate the actions at the interfaces between disciplines and you verify the adequate integration of the various specialities in the project; 
  • You take care of the technical and commercial contacts with the clients and partners, if any, and you define commercial actions when appropriate; 
  • You assure the relevant administrative tasks with respect of the procedures with the support of a Project Assistant; 
  • For the projects where you are appointed as ‘Project Engineer’, you support the Project Manager or Project Director in the achievement of all tasks listed above. 

 

YOUR PROFILE 

  • You have a master in engineering 
  • You have 10 to 15 years of professional experience of which at least 5 years as a project manager or assistant project manager, and you have knowledge of the processes of Engineering (successive stages, contractual approaches, …) 
  • Knowledge of Belgian NPPs is an strong asset 
  • Your mother tongue is French or Dutch and you are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch however is a requirement. 
  • You are result oriented, you have a strong customer focus, you are a team player in a changing environment 
  • You are dynamic, flexible, resistant to stress, rigorous 
  • You will be located in the Brussels HQ with frequent visits to the Belgian NPP site (Doel) and occasionally visits outside Belgium 
  • BA4, VCA, Habilitation to access nuclear sites are required.

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of business development experience in the Gas and LNG sector, especially for mid and downstream businesses, preferably from an Engineering Consultancy or EPC company.
  • First-hand experience in Project Management and/or Technical Delivery, such as Conceptual Study, Pre-FS, FS, Pre-FEED, FEED, and TDD in Gas Infrastructure and Gas-to-Power, is highly preferred.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist in the operation, monitoring and maintenance of all utility system equipment 
  • Check chemical analysis of boiler, condensate return, chilled water and condenser water system 
  • Adjust chemical treatment to specified ranges established by chemical treatment company
  • Record and monitors equipment operating conditions and reports or adjusts as required to maintain safe and efficient operation
  • Participate in repair, maintenance, installation and upkeep of all Central Plant equipment and work areas

What you bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years training or experience in trade practice of steam engineering
  • Must operate intuitively from previous knowledge in troubleshooting gauges and instruments on equipment to bring about satisfactory operation. 
  • 3rd Class DC Steam Engineers License 
  • Must be capable of understanding and operating complex operation of high-pressure steam and chilled water systems which can be operated several ways depending on operational needs.  
  • CFC certification

  • Reviews project feasibility studies, committee approval deliverables (i.e.development notes, investment note, among others), assumptions books, book valuation, and risk & return analysis. coordinates with BD and GBU business functions
  • Organizes and prepares project reviews, investment decisions, coordinates and supports the approval process at geographic level and in coordination with sub-GBU, GBU, and Group levels
  • Challenges the proposals and works with BD team to prepare investment committee recommendations for each project
  • Communicates with business development (BD) and country affiliates to understand and support their development projects
  • Maintains the process control for the development pipeline database as well as meeting minutes, actions items, decisions and outcomes database from each of the investment reviews
  • Prepares associated GBU BDSO reporting
  • Asses internal risk process to capture new risks or lessons learned on future developments
  • Keep data organized in the tools or systems used and available in the company (i.e. GROW, MS Teams)
  • Ensure outcomes of approvals are flowed through a process to capture and track against CAPEX envelope and creation of approved budgets (in respective ERP)

  • Advising on the choice of and supporting the implementation of the adequate legal structures necessary for implementing projects (subsidiary, branch office, permanent  establishment, etc.);
  • Managing litigation and legal disputes;
  • Assistance with respect to M&A activities;
  • Evaluating the relevance of calling upon outside lawyers, directing their interventions and controlling legal costs;
  • Assistance with the follow-up of insurance matters and the collaboration with the brokers and insurance companies.

Profile 

  • You have a Belgian Master in law;
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience working as an in-house or external lawyer;
  • You have an excellent command of Dutch and English with excellent reading, writing and listening skills. French is an advantage;
  • You have specific experience in Public procurement law, contract law, company law and litigation and claims management;
  • You have a good understanding of the business issues and are eager to work in an international environment;
  • You are pragmatic, flexible and solution-seeking;
  • You have good verbal and written communication , assertiveness;
  • You work well in a team and have excellent communication skills;
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are well-organized;
  • You have good analytical, synthetical skills and risk awareness;
  • You are stress resistant and keen to meet deadlines;
  • You are rigorous and professional.
