About the team

 

Our Power & Infrastructure Business Line provides high added value activities to the Global Business Units (GBUs) of ENGIE, the power generation sector, grid operators, and end-user industries in Europe. This covers applied research and on-the-field technical expertise. 

 

We are looking for a Delivery Lead to guide our Power Networks delivery activities into the future!

  

 

What you’ll be doing

 

You report to the Head of Delivery, manage a portfolio of Research Programs and Operational Services, and oversee Project Managers/Experts (about 15 people) to ensure safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You maintain a technology vision and roadmap, collaborate with People Teams for staffing, and work with the Sales Team to drive product strategy.

 

Your responsibilities as Delivery Lead Power Networks (F/M/X)

 

  • Contribute to the Business Line strategy and overall performance, including defining and implementing the annual strategic plan in the field of Power Networks.
  • Empower and coach project managers/ experts working on your delivery portfolio, collaborating closely with Sales and People Teams on offers and value propositions.
  • Transform contracts into deliveries by assigning requests, allocating resources, validating scope, planning, and budget, while ensuring customer satisfaction and overall performance.
  • Oversee the quality of deliverables, project management, billing strategies, and staffing needs, acting as a strategic partner with the People Teams.

Do you?

 

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Engineering with about 5 to 10 years’ experience in Power Networks?
  • Have proven project management skills, a track record of successful project delivery, and strong communication abilities?
  • Show interest in energy transition in Power Transmission & Distribution (HV, MV, LV) and electrical power generation, with relevant technical expertise?

As a BESS Technical Project Manager , you will be a key player in our BESS Europe Development team, supporting BESS Business Developers in all aspects of technical project management. This role is integral to our mission of developing new projects in hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), BESS, and a variety of other applications.

Your Mission as Technical Project Manager BESS :

The BESS TPM position is responsible for the technical feasibility and design of specific projects, defining key technical and safety parameters for the permitting process, managing supplier relations, and determining the contracting approach. This role involves various stages of engineering studies up to the Final Investment Decision (FID).

The BESS TPM maintains contact with Execution and Operation and Maintenance teams to incorporate feedback and experiences from projects in the construction and operation phase. The role also includes translating technical requirements into project agreements and supporting the procurement team in defining the contracting strategy and managing interfaces.

As part of the BESS Business Development team, the BESS TPM works closely with ENGIE’s HSE, Business Development, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, Contract Management, Procurement, and Project Execution teams. The BESS TPM plays a critical role in ensuring that BESS projects are well designed, structured, and de-risked from a technical perspective before reaching FID.

Your Key Responsibilities as Technical Project Manager BESS :

  • Lead in safety, technology, environmental impacts, and permitting of the project during business development and implementation phases.
  • Providing technical input during public consultations.
  • Provide technical project management to drive BESS projects towards Final Investment Decision.
  • Review technical feasibility of early and mid-stage development of BESS projects.
  • Advising on project technical risks and their mitigation.
  • Coordinate and manage the project’s technical team, which may include internal experts, external engineering, and consultant firms.
  • Participate in the definition of the project’s procurement and contracting strategy, managing procurement activities, from tender documents to invoicing.
  • Work with Development/Finance/Permitting team to provide technical production and costing inputs into project financial models.
  • Defining and mobilizing resources, managing progress on technical deliverables up to FID.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in defining and monitoring the project’s engineering, design, schedule, and scope.
  • Define and lead the execution of the technical studies with relevant consultant engineers.
  • Organize and lead the technical project reviews
  • Prepare and coordinate the technical hand-over to the Project Delivery/Execution team at project FID.
  • Structuring and budgeting the project’s operation and maintenance, including staffing, mobilization plan, interfaces with O&M vendor, O&M agreements, KPIs, and pricing structure

Main Responsibilities include:

  • The duties of the Electrical Engineer include evaluating electrical systems, design and installations;

  • Ensuring that the electrical assets are available and reliable by applying the best, safest, sustainable and timely maintenance practices in order to achieve the Plant operational targets at a minimum, reliable and cost effective approach;

  • Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations and electrical engineering codes;

  • Lead, supervise and coordinate a team of Electrical technicians either direct hired or contractors, carrying out focuses on compliance of the maintenance plans and on efficient and effective development of breakdown maintenance to ensure that electrical equipment’s are maintained as per procedures documented in the Maximo and O&M’s requirements;

  • Supervise all electrical equipment on site, routine maintenance, all kinds of troubleshooting, repair, modification and fabrication works;

  • Analyse and resolve complex electrical engineering issues relating to the equipment failure and system inefficiencies;

  • Review vendors’ documents, maintenance manuals and spare parts lists;

  • Draft Electrical procedures necessary for plant operations and participate in Maximo (CMMS) development and implementation;

  • Ensure Electrical maintenance activities are carried out according to company’s procedures, standards, specifications, manufacturer’s recommendations and contract terms;

  • Assist in preparing maintenance budget, work cost estimates, purchase orders and contracts for electrical maintenance activities in coordination with Maintenance Manager;

  • Evaluate pertinent reports related to cost and progress of electrical maintenance activities and transmit analysis to Maintenance Manager, issue reports as required for maintenance department;

  • Recommend new maintenance plans, procedures and schedules for electrical equipment;

  • Review electrical equipment spare parts lists and recommend parts inventory and stock levels;

  • Participate in Plant scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds;

  • Manage subordinates and electrical contractors, guide, supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the electrical maintenance personnel;

  • Ensure individuals’ development of Electrical Technicians with approval from Maintenance Manager;

  • Perform frequent on-site inspections to ensure proper work execution and check on direct hired and contracted technicians activities;

  • Overseeing and coordinate day to-day maintenance activities as well as trouble-shooting activities thus being able to immediately determine failure causes and to rectify defects found or to manage emergency repairs;

  • Manage and coordinate preparation of maintenance activities with Planner, ensure materials required for job performance are available in quantity and quality;

  • Ensure maintenance plans are carried out in due time and that tasks performed are properly recorded in Maximo;

  • Participate in Plant performance and availability improvement or operations and maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects in the Plant design or installation, proposing and implementing modifications to electrical equipment;

  • Attempt all possible actions of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high Plant availability;

  • Participate and support other engineering departments such as C&I to ensure continued plant availability

  • Show competency and understanding of high/medium and low voltage integration.

  • Promote and show competency in safe electrical switching, testing and maintenance

  • Promote safe use of electrical power tools, instruments and testing equipment

  • Adhere to OEMs requirements for electrical calibrations, testing and maintenance procedures/frequencies.  

  • Identify operations trends, provide analysis of root causes and recommend and implement corrective actions to support continuous improvement of the Plant operations;

  • Monitor electrical maintenance activities cost, and take necessary corrective actions to ensure compliance with approved plans and budgets;

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Engineering Manager;

  • Enforce HSE regulations, Quality policies and procedures, and ensure that all HSE measures and precautions are strictly considered and taken care of during the execution of maintenance activities to avoid any activity which might lead to Health Safety and Environment incidents / non conformities.

Qualifications:

  • BEng, BSC or BTech in electrical Engineering
  • Postgraduate qualification in management/Leadership;
  • GCC Certificate (Factories or Mines)(Mechanical or Electrical) Advantageous;
  • Registration with ECSA will be advantageous;
  • Driver’s License.

 

Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in the in a Power Plant, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, mineral processing or in the Chemical Industry;
  • Experience in leading and managing people;
  • Proficiency in electrical design software
  • Deep knowledge of electrical processes and understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards;

Work Environment

 

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to support efficiently the expansion of our activities in Energy. You will participate in the complete sales processes and work closely with the management team to attain the company sales objectives. You will evolve in an international environment and work in close coordination with other sales teams throughout the company to develop winning tenders for the benefit of the company and our clients.

 

You will be integrated into the Tractebel Energy community, a worldwide network of Energy specialists keen on sharing their knowledge.

Missions

 

  • You will report to the APAC Sales Manager.
  • Prepare tenders proposals with the support of the Business Development and Product Manager of Thermal, Transmission & Distribution, Gas & LNG.
  • Identify and adequately resolve bottlenecks in case of unexpected events to manage the overall sales process.
  • Follow up and integrate partners' and subcontractors' contributions.
  • Deliver all documents, including the commercial contracts, with quality based on a deep understanding of the requirements.
  • Provide inputs for the commercial reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Energy related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Minimun 3 years of experience in the energy sector (project, sales, tendering or proposal preparation), preferably in the energy projects.
  • Good business acumen and understanding of the engineering consulting business.
  • Solid writing and reporting skills.
  • Good knowledge of the latest energy news and trends, especially in the South East Asia region. 
  • Strong sense of priority and meticulousness.
  • Independent, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Good planner and organizer in various circumstances. 
  • Great team player and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Thai and English.
