European champion in Genoa
After a victory in Marseille last August, Marie Riou competed in the European mixed double-handed offshore sailing championships. With a total of three days and three nights of sailing - 66 hours of racing in all - Marie Riou and her team-mate Benjamin Schwartz successfully outperformed their competitors off the Cinque Terre coast (Genoa, Italy). Marie Riou is brilliantly navigating her sporting career as she continues her race towards 2024, when offshore sailing has been chosen as the opening discipline for the Paris Olympic Games.
French team champion in the 1st division
Madeleine, Team ENGIE’s judokate, had not enjoyed a taste of competition for 7 months. The last time was in February 2020 in Paris, where she retained her title as Paris Grand Slam champion. At the start of October, she was back on the mat for the 2020 edition of the French Team Championships in Brest. With very satisfying results as she won first place with the Blanc Mesnil Judo women's team... for the 3rd time running! Congratulations Madeleine!!
First stage of the Vel'Odyssée race on 14 September
Before joining Team ENGIE as a surfer, Pauline was already a very committed athlete in her Basque Country region. After getting involved in a forest restoration project, she took part in the first stage of the Vel'Odyssée race on 14 September, travelling 115 km from Biarritz to Mimizan. The goal? To meet scientists and schoolchildren to talk about environment-related issues in our region... by bike!
A podium finish at the French Rendez-vous of Surfing
Pauline took 3rd place at the French Rendez-vous of Surfing run by the World Surf League in Anglet from 23 to 25 September, and took the opportunity to leave her footprints on the famous Anglet Surf Avenue, alongside some great names from the world professional surfing.
