Job Purpose:

 The Data Center Facilities Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, ELV, Generators and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency.

This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The Technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third party vendors.

They are expected to be a single focal point for all facility operations within a given data center.

The Technician should be able to support the DC-operations for delivering 99.999% uptime.

This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and building automation systems like BMS, DCIM.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and Daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.

·       Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s (UPS, LV Panels, Switchgears, Busway systems, BMS, DCIM, Controllers, ELV Systems) and Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.

·       Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of electrical equipment.

·       Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility electrical, and ELV systems.

·       Maintain, operate all Electrical systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, building management system.

·       Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations

·       Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.

·       Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards which Supervisor assigns.

·       Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.

·       Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken;

·       Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.

·       Should be able to comply with HSE norms and understand the PTW process.

·       Should be able to working in shifts (24X7).

·       Should be able to drive the operational requirements with minimum supervision and guidance.

·       Should understand the criticality of business uptime to serve the Data center facility operations.

·       Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.

·       Maintain essential stock of spare parts.

·       Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required

·       Attend training sessions and seminars.

·       Other assigned tasks as requested.

Skills Required:

 

·       Good knowledge of power systems (UPS's, Control Panels, DB’s, Busway systems, Generators)

·       Basic knowledge of cooling systems (HVACs, Chillers, Fire and safety, BMS, ELV Systems)

·       Working knowledge of UPS systems and associated switch gear and Distribution Panels

·       Working knowledge of standby generator systems and associated switch gear.

·       Skill in installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment’s and components.

Key Responsibilities:

What You Can Expect

 

As the Student Intern, you will be part of a 8-week hybrid internship program with a start date of June 10, 2025 and ending on July 31, 2025, where you will explore the intersection of sustainability and real-world implementation of sustainable design and construction. 

You will visit and engage with the construction occurring at your school site. You will be responsible for participating in construction meetings, doing walk-throughs, and measurements that will include safety analysis, drawing reviews, and procurement tracking. 

You will join a cohort online working to explore the intersection of sustainability and real-world implementation of sustainable design & construction.  You will work to obtain an understanding of the Energy Industry Fundamentals programming and work towards a certificate from the Center for Energy Workforce Development.  Mentoring opportunities from individuals working across ENGIE’s business units will be included in the 8-week internship.  The programming includes interaction with the national cohort of interns across ENGIE. 

You will participate in virtual classes with students from different districts across the country, engage in a weekly national intern conference call, and work towards obtaining your LEED certification. 

ENGIE is seeking interns who have an interest in energy, sustainability, and engineering.  Students who have completed AP Environmental Sciences, Physics, Engineering and Construction courses are encouraged to apply.

This includes pumps, piping networks, valves, PRVs, firefighting systems, irrigation pumps, sewage pumps, lift stations, and all mechanical rotating equipment. Technicians must ensure asset reliability, conduct inspections, and perform both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in line with the contract scope and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform scheduled PPM and breakdown maintenance for mechanical assets (pumps, motors, valves, etc.).
- Monitor operational parameters, record readings, and escalate abnormalities.
- Carry out alignment, lubrication, seal/gasket replacement, and filter cleaning.
- Maintain water booster systems, pressurization units, sump pumps, and irrigation control valves.
- Conduct routine checks on PRVs, NRVs, VFD panels, and ensure correct operation.
- Ensure proper functioning of mechanical equipment in utility rooms, plant rooms, and pump rooms.
- Adhere to site-specific escalation protocols in the event of system failure.
