What You Can Expect
As the on-site Wind Technician II, at the Jumbo Hill Wind Site in Andrews, TX, you will operate and maintain the site by optimizing wind generation availability and performance through established procedures with the highest regard for health, safety and environment compliance. Adaptability is crucial as tasks may vary depending on operational needs and requirements. Your primary responsibilities involve troubleshooting, repairing, reconnecting, and inspecting electrical equipment, including substations and overall site performance.  At this site you will be working with high voltage energized equipment and must follow all safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) grounding and other safety precautions. Collaborating with service providers and contractors, you will oversee daily work activities, produce various reports, operate site equipment, and coordinate with local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs) for switching and curtailments.

 

Ensuring compliance with ENGIE and regulatory agency standards, you'll conduct inspections and recurring checks on site equipment. You'll actively participate in behavior-based safety programs, enforce safety procedures, and conduct orientations and meetings to promote a safe working environment. Alongside routine inspections and serving as the main contact for landowners, you'll manage spare parts inventory, coordinate contractor work, and maintain cleanliness on-site. 
Gaining and maintaining GWO training is required, as well as participating in turbine climbing activities. You'll provide recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements, offer equipment operation training, and utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to address failures. You will work on computerized work order systems for purchase requisitions and receiving statuses.  From time to time you will be required to support other wind assets during planned outages and emergencies, potentially requiring overnight stays. Furthermore, you'll be part of an on-call rotation and must reside within 50 miles of the site to respond promptly to outages and emergencies.


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum high school diploma or a diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Wind generation, Power Plant, or Substation Maintenance where you have working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date


Additional Details

  • This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s) 
  • This role requires daily attendance at a worksite 
  • Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant

Compensation
Salary Range:  $26.56 - $37.36 USD hourly

What You Can Expect
As the Operations Manager for our power plant situated in Lopeno, TX you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising two technicians and indirectly overseeing a Regional Administrator. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the wind farm site
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel

  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips to support planned and forced outages at other facilities including solar sites-may require overnight stay

What You Can Expect
As the Field Technical Trainer Advisor, you will develop and conduct technical training programs for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage technicians. This position will not only educate and standardize training materials but participate in the quality control programs and ensure all technicians are evaluated and scored based on their technical abilities. Reporting to the VP of Field Services, this position is located at the Five Wells Solar site in Rogers, TX, however, the trainer will travel to various sites as a subject matter expert and will provide training at offices in both Houston, TX and Denver, CO.

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • Develop, conduct, monitor, test and score technical training programs for all internal wind, solar, and battery energy storage technicians based on their technical abilities
  • Establish relationships with internal customers to develop course materials and measure feedback
  • Coordinate training schedule with Regional Operations Directors to meet the training demands of the company
  • Select and/or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works
  • Conduct training sessions covering various specified areas including on-the-job training, refresher training
  • Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of training
  • Travel and perform on-the-job training on various platforms of Mega Watt (MW) class wind turbines and MW class invertors
  • Develop reporting on the progress of employees under guidance during training periods

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned practical training skills, making it ideal for developing and delivering training programs, renewable energy, or industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in the renewable energy (wind/solar) industry or a combination of degree, education, industry experience or military service will be considered
  • Must have experience teaching, setting and developing wind turbine and / or solar technician-related curricula and maintaining training materials on prudent industry best practices for the solar and / or wind industry
  • Experience training theory in the areas of electrical safety, qualified electrical work, convertor/invertor, hydraulic and mechanical
  • Ability to engage with all students in the classroom, understanding the core elements of adult learners
  • Capable to be flexible and meet the changing needs of a dynamic, growing company
  • Capable of directing and defining new training programs based on the needs of the company and industry

What You Can Expect

As an Asset Management Analyst II, you will support our Asset Management team in overseeing a portfolio of renewable generation assets, including utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage facilities. Asset Management includes the management of commercial strategies, control on asset performance, development, and coordination of asset optimization projects, tracking of profitability of the asset, contract administration, managing landowner relationships, and general overall operational purview of the fleet.

The Asset Management Analyst II will support the Senior Asset Management Advisor in the management of several assets, across different Independent System Operators (ISOs) and technologies. This role requires to be able to understand operating contracts (Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), Landowner Agreements, etc), to be a proactive problem solver with good analytical and organizational skills, with a special focus on process improvement, efficiencies in Asset Management, technical understanding of Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and Optimize P&L: Understand main drivers (operational, commercial, market) of project P&L, propose and implement action plans for optimization, and develop gross margin assumptions for annual business plans
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Analyze operational and financial performance data from wind, solar, and battery storage assets, identify trends and optimization opportunities, and prepare regular reports on asset performance and financial metrics
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with Operations, Engineering, and other teams to track KPIs, ensure compliance with performance benchmarks, and support asset optimization through interaction with ENGIE Trading/Energy Management
  • Contract and Relationship Management: Manage contracts (Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), Asset Management Agreements (AMAs), Operations and Maintenance Agreements (OMAs), Landowner Agreements), support negotiations, invoicing, and payments, and ensure assets operate within compliance requirements
  • Process Improvement and Cross-Functional Support: Focus on process improvement and efficiencies in Asset Management, support other Asset Managers, and collaborate with various teams (Operations, Finance, Legal, Trading, Origination) to align on asset performance and goals

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or similar technical or analytics-based program
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience (electricity, power, or renewables)
  • Experience with the electricity market structure and protocols of multiple Independent System Operators (ISOs)
  • Experience in contract management (commercial, services, and technical contracts)
  • Experience in P&L management
  • Effective project management skills for cross-organizational coordination and business process improvement initiatives, with a deadline-driven approach
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Excel, and working with dashboards and database software (PowerBI, SQL, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions across North America

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range: $61,400 - $94,070 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. 

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.  

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

What You Can Expect

ENGIE’s Asset Management team manages a fleet of >8.4 GW of grid-scale Wind, Solar & Storage assets in multiple Independent System Operators (ISO’s) in the U.S. (ERCOT, SPP, PJM, MISO, CAISO) and Canada. The portfolio under management is expected to grow by more than 1 GW/year over the next decade with an expansion in new ISO’s and new technologies.

As an integral part of this team, the Asset Management Advisor manages a set of assets holistically. Asset Management includes the management of commercial strategies including the coordination of implementation of those strategies, development, and coordination of asset optimization projects, tracking of profitability of the asset, contract understanding, landowner relationships, and general overall operational purview.  The Asset Management Advisor will have multiple assets under management potentially in different ISOs and different technologies (onshore Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) assets).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Profit & Loss (P&L) for assets under management: Analyze P&L statements to identify key performance drivers and develop action plans to implement to optimize financial outcomes. Build and maintain gross margin assumptions for each asset to support annual business planning, business interruption insurance, and internal forecasting. Oversee and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with the company’s financial objectives. Collaborate with ENGIE Trading / Energy Management teams to define and provide a risk mandate for daily market bidding activities. Optimize financial performance of assets through strategic oversight and data-driven decision-making. Identify and pursue commercial opportunities to enhance value creation and overall asset profitability
  • Contract Management: Oversee all contract negotiations, invoicing, and payments, including managing (Power Purchase Agreements (PPA’s), relationship management, Asset Management Agreements (AMAs) and Operations & Maintenance Agreements (OMAs), Equipment purchase and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA’s), and Landowner payment management
  • Operations & Maintenance Planning: Monitor asset KPIs to drive operational improvements and align maintenance schedules with operational and commercial goals
  • ISO & Regulatory Coordination: Responsible for leading on ISO protocols, regulation, and market fundamentals, and engaging subject matter experts as required
  • Stakeholder Management: Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reporting for individual assets, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reports to management and partnership team, and ensure a high level of collaboration with other teams leveraging our organization capabilities (Operations, Finance, Legal, Trading, Power Marketing, and other organizational stakeholders)

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or similar technical or analytics-based program
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in asset management, energy markets, or in related energy sector (electricity, power, or renewables)
  • Commercial acumen with good understanding of business principles, contracts, and relationships including specific experience with power purchase agreements (PPAs) and operational agreements
  • Comprehensive understanding of energy market operations
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Excel, and experience with dashboards and database visualization software (PowerBI, SQL)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholders, along with good written and verbal communication abilities, and a desire to advance the adoption and deployment of renewable energy solutions
