The ENGIE Foundation
Created in 1992, the corporate ENGIE Foundation supports projects of general interest in France and internationally. It partners with organizations working on the ground to address social emergencies, support vulnerable populations and contribute to environmental transitions. To date, nearly 1,000 organizations have been supported. Its purpose: to unleash the energy of possibilities in service of environmental and social transitions.
For the 2026–2030 period, the ENGIE Foundation focuses its action on initiatives that deliver measurable progress in environmental and social transitions. It supports organizations engaged in research, education, cooperation, collective action and the production of knowledge useful for public and local decision-making.
Supported projects are selected based on specific criteria: social value, local anchoring, ability to work in partnership, and contribution to sustainable impact.
The ENGIE Foundation acts at every stage where transitions take shape in concrete ways:
Training and awareness
Supporting education and knowledge-sharing initiatives to better understand energy, social and environmental challenges
Social inclusion
Supporting projects that enable vulnerable groups to fully participate in ongoing transformations
Innovation and research-action
Backing operational initiatives that contribute to protecting living systems and supporting decision-making
Territorial cooperation
Encouraging collective dynamics, particularly in rural or under-resourced areas
Information and engagement
Supporting initiatives that produce clear and accessible content on transitions
The Foundation also allocates part of its resources to emergency situations and projects addressing basic needs, where safety, dignity and access to essential resources are at stake.
The ENGIE Foundation works closely with field stakeholders. It prioritizes partnerships, collective approaches and the evaluation of supported actions, with a constant objective: turning social and environmental commitments into concrete and impactful results.
