As part of its Impact Together program, ENGIE supports the organization of major events;. as an official partner, ENGIE supplies 100% green electricity to major events. Beyond providing renewable energy, ENGIE also deploys concrete solutions on site, such as autonomous charging stations and public awareness initiatives promoting responsible energy use.
Roland-Garros: giving greener energy the advantage
A key partner in the tournament’s energy transition, ENGIE has supplied 100% renewable electricity to the entire event since 2016. We provide the French Tennis Federation with flexible photovoltaic solutions, smartphone charging stations and multi-technical maintenance services for the stadium. Alongside these energy solutions, beehives have been installed on site since 2015, and dedicated “green teams” raise spectators’ awareness of environmental issues.

Since 2014, ENGIE and Roland Garros have stood shoulder-to-shoulder, focused on a shared objective: extending the influence of sport while speeding up the energy transition.
100% green energy for a 100% committed tournament
Roland Garros is a major event… but it also showcases energy performance! ENGIE has been providing the tournament with 100% renewable electricity – from hydraulic and solar sources – since 2016.
And that’s not all: ENGIE has charging stations at the stadium, and provides portable chargers so that visitors can charge their mobile phones with green energy.
Biodiversity: certain matches are also played off the court
Protecting biodiversity is also part of the game. ENGIE has been supporting Roland Garros in its efforts to keep its environmental footprint to a minimum:
- Behives have been installed in the stadium since 2015, promoting pollination and local biodiversity.
- Public awareness campaigns run by the ‘green teams’, who help visitors adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
Every little helps, and sustainable projects are taking shape far beyond the stands.
