Inclusive Procurement

Event

Published on 29 Apr. 2026

On March 24, 2026, ENGIE will take part in the 4th edition of the Inclusive Procurement Forum (Forum des Achats Inclusifs), organized at the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris. The event will bring together companies from the Collective for a More Inclusive Economy, which employ 1.5 million people in France, along with around fifty suppliers.

ENGIE’s inclusive procurement policy is a key lever for professional integration. To this end, we collaborate with companies from the disability sector (protected and adapted work sector – STPA) as well as with social integration organizations (SIAE), which support diverse profiles: young people who have dropped out of school, long-term unemployed individuals, seniors far from employment, and people who have experienced life disruptions (such as former inmates, refugees, or asylum seekers).

The day will open with a plenary session bringing together member companies of the Collective, in the presence of Jean-Pierre Farandou, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. A Supplier Forum will enable around fifty inclusive companies to meet the procurement departments of Collective members, complemented by speed-dating-style workshops. The objective is to create concrete business opportunities and build new partnerships.

ENGIE had set a target to increase its inclusive procurement spending in France by 30% between 2022 and 2025. This objective has been exceeded.

Program

  • 9:15 am: Opening
  • 9:30 am: Review and outlook. Signing of a Manifesto and new ambitions for 2026–2028
  • 10:15 am: Taking action. Presentation and discussions on the results of the Inclusive Procurement Observatory
  • 11:00 am: Networking lunch and Supplier Forum

COP30 in Brazil: time for action

Energy transition

Event

Published on 12 Nov. 2025

From November 10 to 21, 2025, Brazil is hosting COP30 in Belém, at the gateway to the Amazon. This conference marks a pivotal moment: the assessment of the commitments made ten years ago under the Paris Agreement. As the effects of climate disruption intensify, this edition is expected to redefine the global decarbonization pathway and strengthen the role of businesses in implementing tangible solutions.

Why Brazil for COP30?

Thirty-three years after the Rio Earth Summit and ten years after the Paris Agreement, the choice of Brazil as the host city carries deep symbolic weight.
The country has a unique energy profile: 90% of its electricity is low-carbon, and over 50% of its total energy mix already comes from renewables — a record within the G20, three times higher than the global average*. Hydropower, biomass, wind, and solar together form a coherent ecosystem that makes Brazil a model for energy transition.
Yet Brazil continues to invest in hydrocarbons, an illustration of the tension faced by all COP30 participants: how to accelerate the transition without jeopardizing economic growth?

What are the priorities of COP30?

Three major topics will shape the discussions at this key moment for multilateral climate action.

  1. National Climate Commitments

Countries will present their new Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for 2035.
However, according to the latest UN synthesis report, current pledges would only cut global emissions by 10% by 2035 (compared to 2019 levels) — far from the 43% reduction needed by 2030 to keep the +1.5 °C target within reach.

  1. Adaptation and resilience

COP30 is widely viewed as the “COP of adaptation.” After years focused on emission reduction, the priority now is to help vulnerable nations cope with the already irreversible impacts of climate change such as rising sea levels, drought, biodiversity loss, and extreme weather.
A new global goal for adaptation finance is expected to be set.

  1. Energy and agricultural transitions

COP30 will highlight the concrete transformation of energy, food, and industrial systems.
Brazil has launched the Belém 4X Pledge, an international commitment to quadruple the production and use of sustainable fuels (biofuels, biogas, hydrogen, e-methane) by 2035.

Discussions will also focus on reducing methane and non-CO₂ gases, preserving tropical forests, and protecting Indigenous peoples recognized as the guardians of ecosystems.

Finally, an initiative led by Brazil’s National Confederation of Industry — the Sustainable Business COP (SB COP) — aims to structure and amplify the private sector’s contribution to climate negotiations.

Why is ENGIE present at COP30?

For ENGIE, COP30 is a natural continuation of our mission: turning the energy transition into concrete action.

Convinced that the cost of inaction is systemic with far-reaching consequences including climate damage, we are committed to addressing the challenges of this transition through infrastructure adaptation, developing flexibility assets, supporting households financially, and providing decarbonization solutions for hard-to-abate sectors.

Our vision is to accelerate the energy transition by leveraging all forms of decarbonized energy — particularly through the synergy between the electron and the molecule.

Two key highlights for ENGIE

The contribution of business to climate action

ENGIE is a direct contributor to the launch of the Sustainable Business COP (SB COP) — a platform designed to strengthen private-sector participation in international climate negotiations, fostering common approaches and actionable solutions.

Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, Chairman of ENGIE’s Board of Directors, plays a central role as Vice-Chair of the Energy Working Group.

His involvement reflects the Group’s commitment to bringing its expertise and on-the-ground experience to support a pragmatic and equitable energy transition.

International commitments aligned with the Net Zero pathway

ENGIE is a signatory to several major global initiatives. The Group will reaffirm its support for Tripling Renewables, an initiative launched at COP28 and driven by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the Global Renewables Alliance, aiming to triple global renewable capacity by 2030.

Expanding energy access — ENGIE volunteers install biodigesters in Brazil

According to the UNDP, FAO, and UNEP, ensuring clean cooking must become a national priority for all countries.

With support from the ENGIE Foundation, the NGO Energy Assistance France has installed 22 biodigesters in schools and communities across Brazil. The project will directly benefit 3,600 students, supported by 31 ENGIE volunteers who are also raising awareness among children and families about the importance of the energy transition.

In Belém and beyond, ENGIE demonstrates that the energy transition is built through action, cooperation, and innovation. Businesses play a vital role in ensuring that this transformation is affordable and fair, by empowering local communities, fostering public–private partnerships, and scaling innovations globally.

ENGIE at GASTECH 2025

Gas

Published on 08 Sep. 2025

This must-attend event for the gas industry, taking place in Milan from September 9 to 12, will be an opportunity for the Group to present its roadmap for gas decarbonization.

ENGIE aims to become the leader in zero-carbon energy. For achieving this, we have a vision that is unique in the market: the alliance of the molecule and the electron, which is essential to achieving a reliable and affordable energy transition.

The GASTECH conference, taking place in Milan from September 9 to 12, is a major event for the gas industry, focused on the key challenges of decarbonization and the role of artificial intelligence in this transition.

For ENGIE, it is an opportunity to highlight its initiatives in gas decarbonization, in line with its goal of reaching carbon neutrality by 2045.

Led by the energy supply and risk management teams, ENGIE’s booth is designed to welcome clients and partners, showcase innovative solutions, and give the floor to the Group’s managers and experts.
