ENGIE at the Hyvolution Trade Show
ENGIE aims to be a key player in renewable and low-carbon hydrogen. The Group will showcase the diversity of its projects at the Hyvolution trade show, taking place from January 28 to 30 in Paris, France.
Renewable hydrogen is essential to achieving a decarbonized European energy mix by 2050. Based on a techno-economic analysis, our Net Zero for Europe scenario estimates that by 2050, the demand for decarbonized hydrogen will be 7 times higher than today’s hydrogen demand.
Most of this demand will come from heavy mobility sectors, including air, road, and maritime transportation. Green hydrogen will also replace grey hydrogen, which is produced from fossil fuels, and will help reduce electricity peaks by providing a storage solution for renewable energy.
Produced through water electrolysis and with an energy density three times greater than that of oil or methane, hydrogen has all the attributes needed to meet the flexibility requirements of the energy system and address the hardest-to-decarbonize sectors.
Active across the entire value chain
To meet this challenge, ENGIE actively participates in the development of the hydrogen sector, leveraging expertise across all its business areas.
Our projects, spanning every link in the hydrogen value chain, will be showcased at our booth and explained by our experts. We will also present our latest developments in hydrogen during technical workshops, including the following projects:
- Medhyterra (importing e-ammonia)
- France KerEAUzen (a platform for e-fuels production)
- Vhytta (hydrogen stations for airports)
