ENGIE’s Business Entity “Global Energy Management & Sales” was awarded “Natural gas/LNG house of the year” at the Energy Risk Asia Awards 2021.
The award is a recognition of our strategic repositioning towards a leaner LNG business, focused on midstream and downstream activities. Since 2017 ENGIE is moving away from upstream oil and gas activities, but building its LNG portfolio with a fully risk-managed and low-CAPEX approach.
In 2021, we were proud to receive, among others, the Energy Risk Awards 2021 “Electricity House of the Year”, “Best overall energy dealer of the Year”, “Power dealer of the Year” and “Natural Gas dealer of the Year” at the 2021 Energy Risk Awards!
The Energy Risk Awards recognize excellence across global commodities markets and have recognized our Business Entity’s achievements for seven years in a row since 2012.
These wins comes along with another outstanding recognition in the commodity rankings, established on an annual market vote. ENGIE came out with several top positions in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific, with a notable N°1 energy dealer all regions and marketplaces combined.
S&P Global Platts Awards recognize and honor the best of the energy industry. In 2021, we won 2 major trophies:
- Climate Leader of the Year
Our excellence in executing a global energy strategy, our diversity of energy solutions and our commitment to sustainability were rewarded. The jury highlighted our net zero ambition for 2045, five years before many other key energy players.
- Deal of the Year – Google 24/7
This first-of-its kind carbon free supply agreement we signed with Google earlier this year was praised by the Jury as a key innovation demonstrating ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales teams’ great capabilities and client understanding.
This unique example of client co-construction is also enabling us, at ENGIE, to shape the future of clean energy markets and extend 24/7 carbon free solutions to a wider range of clients, worldwide. ENGIE’s deal with Google impressed judges as “the start of something new” - Judges applauded ENGIE for “utilizing partners to build a cleaner world”.
