GEM was awarded “Natural gas/LNG house of the year” at the Energy Risk Asia Awards 2019.
The award is a recognition of our strategic repositioning towards a leaner LNG business, focused on midstream and downstream activities. Since 2017 ENGIE is moving away from upstream oil and gas activities, but building its LNG portfolio with a fully risk-managed and low-CAPEX approach.
In 2020 we were proud to receive, among others, the Energy Risk Awards 2020 “Electricity House of the Year”, “Environmental Products House of the Year” and “Natural Gas & LNG House of the Year” at the 2020 Energy Risk Awards!
The Energy Risk Awards recognize excellence across global commodities markets and have recognized our Business Unit’s achievements for seven years in a row since 2012.
This triple win comes along with another outstanding recognition in the commodity rankings, established on an annual market vote. ENGIE came out with several top positions in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific, with a notable N°1 energy dealer all regions and marketplaces combined.
Formerly GDF SUEZ Trading, ENGIE Global Markets (EGM) is a branch of ENGIE’s Business Unit “Global Energy Management” (GEM), employing more than 400 people worldwide.
Active in energy markets for nearly 28 years, EGM is a trusted partner in energy and trading. Drawing from ENGIE’s long-term industry experience, EGM has been active throughout the liberalization of energy markets and strives to serve the energy community day-to-day.
EGM is a regulated entity with the status of investment services provider, enabling it to provide financial services to third parties. As such, EGM operates in line with the highest standards of business, risk control and compliance.
Having an integrated trading platform helps the Group secure its revenues by hedging against price volatility, which can have significant impacts on financial results. EGM thus implements trading strategies to manage variations in commodity prices, or price differentials between different markets and maturities.
EGM works to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of energy markets, relying on its proven track record in accompanying regulatory change and contributing to the evolution of market infrastructures.
