YOUR ROLE

Originator, Energy & Carbon Markets, Middle East & APAC

Organization –  The GEMS APAC team is based in Singapore and offers trading services to both internal and external clients in the APAC & Middle East region. We specialize in providing optimization, hedging, market operations, and analytics services to support our clients.

Role –  Environmental Product Origination

Location –  Singapore

Reporting –  Head of Carbon Origination

Mission & Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and deliver revenue by originating transactions with clients trading in carbon credits, compliance emissions markets and renewable energy certificates.
  • Focus on new client acquisition across the Middle East and APAC region, working closely with the Head of Carbon Origination and the Trading team to source flow, structure deals and close transactions.
  • Develop relationships with industry groups, conference operators, exchanges and partners to widen Origination efforts and promote ENGIE’s service offering.
  • Quote prices and execute trades with clients across environmental products.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Develop innovative ideas to assist clients in their risk management in a complex and fast-moving environment.
  • Stay updated on industry news, events, and market movements to provide timely information and insights to clients.
  • Prepare concise and compelling presentations and reports, leveraging excellent spreadsheet skills.
  • Collaborate with different support teams such as KYC/Credit/Legal on the onboarding process
  • Proactively identify and liaise opportunities with other business units of ENGIE, leveraging a deep understanding of ENGIE Group's offerings and capabilities.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Hold a university degree with 5 years of relevant experience in a trading/banking environment.
  • Possess existing relationships with key energy and carbon players
  • Possess experience with global markets products, preferably commodity derivatives for corporate clients
  • Have proven experience and a solid understanding of energy & carbon trading
  • Experience in negotiating structured contracts and underlying financing arrangements of energy projects will be a distinct advantage.
