The ENGIE Kite Tour heads for Leucate for the 2021 Grand Finale

By ENGIE - 08 November 2021 - 11:05

After the rounds in Lorient-Gâvres, La Grande Motte and Arcachon, the 2021 ENGIE Kite Tour will draw to a close in Leucate from 12 to 14 November. To finish this year’s tour in style, we will have the honour of opening up the competition to wing foils, in their own separate category.

All the circuit’s ambassadors will take part in this final round, including ENGIE team member and reigning European Champion, Poema Newland, and the 2020 French Champion, Alexia Fancelli. Plus the 2021 World Champion, Théo de Ramecourt, ENGIE team member, runner-up in the World Championship and European Champion, Axel Mazella, and runner-up in the European Championship, Benoit Gomez.

The programme: Three days of regattas and shows on the Coussoules beach, where male and female amateurs and top-class competitors of all ages will be able to compete with one another on the same stretch of water. This spot, which is well renowned in Europe, is strictly dedicated to kite-boarding and air-tow board sports.

A new challenge for the Leucate kite surf club, which is organising the event with the French sailing federation and ENGIE. The Leucate club has already hosted numerous board sports competitions, including the “Mondial du Vent”.

Good luck to all the competitors!
