Job Purpose:

Responsible for conveying materials, equipment, and staff of the organization to the areas where they are required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involved in taking care of only a specific vehicle for the organization.
  • Load and unload organization’s merchandize.
  • Transport products, materials, and staff securely to areas where they are needed
  • Guarantee that products and staff are protected and secured.
  • Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to and from places as instructed by supervisor or the manager
  • Ensure that vehicles are kept perfect and clean at all times.
  • Carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are sound
  • Recognize electrical and mechanical faults and report to the employer or technician
  • Report any instance of mishap or accident to the dispatcher or supervisor
  • Perform periodic maintenance on vehicles, such as changing batteries and motor oil at appropriate time, as well as refueling the car(s).
  • Report any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the supervisor or manager
  • Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance
  • Keep up a travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours
  • Perform some other undertakings like dropping and picking staff, getting lunch, and running errands
  • Dress professionally and in accordance with company’s dress code.

  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and not to put other persons - fellow employees and members of the public - at risk by what you do or don't do in the course of your work;
  • Cooperate with any company efforts to improve health and safety at work;
  • Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you in the interest of health and safety.
  • Not to interfere with or misuse anything that's provided for your health, safety or welfare
  • Report any accidents, injuries or illnesses you may suffer as a result of doing your work, or any accidents, injuries or illnesses you become aware off that involves a fellow employee or member of the public at your place of work.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • Capacity to carry out his obligations in an expert way. 
  • He should constantly dress in line with the organization’s clothing regulation, and should have the capacity to relate well with associates and clients
  • Trained and Skilled: A company driver must be very much trained. Moreover, he ought to be a skilled driver and must have the necessary authorization to drive
  • He should have sufficient knowledge of traffic laws and hold fast entirely to them
  • Physical Strength: The work frequently includes loading and unloading of materials and equipment. He must be strong enough to lift heavy loads frequently
  • He must have a clean driving record
  • He must be a safety conscious person
  • He must be focused, confident, and observant.
  • Ensure and plan for the technical team to attend all complain and curative maintenance works within the allowable time frame. Update the reporting system in timely manner.
  • Responsible the vehicles, manpower and sufficient materials at all time.  
  • Must have a good rapport and leadership skills to manage the team and coordinate with others.  
  • Plan and identify the most reasonable approach to prioritize the works to suit the management and client's needs.  
  • Responsible for the office and site activities with the other department to procure, resources arrangement, technical needs, budgetary and upkeep.  
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with different types of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and expertise.
  • Preferably proficient in interpreting the conversation using two-way radio with the airport control tower. 
  • Must have a UAE driving license and preferably passed the Airport Driving permit test RED category.
  • Understanding of transportation law.
  • Good traffic judgment.
  • Good knowledge about basic car operations and mechanics.
  • Knowledge of the location of international organizations, airline offices, hotels and restaurants.
  • Flexible, effective teamwork, interpersonal skills and good communication.

 

Qualifications:

  • Secondary School Certificate
  • Valid Driving License.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Reliable and predictable attendance. 
  • Ability to communicate in National, International and Local languages.
