About the role

ENGIE are recruiting for a Business Development Manager based in London. This is a Permanent role, working full time Monday to Friday. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Formation of UK and Ireland grid-scale battery development strategy, consistent with broader ambition and strategy of Flexible Generation GBU.
  • Development of business models and origination of opportunities to secure investment in UK and Ireland grid-scale battery storage projects, including through acquisition, partnership or brownfield/greenfield development.
    Focus on:

    Robust financial revenue models that undergo internal financial + risk scrutiny
    Outline use cases for battery storage that deliver project profitability at least risk
  • Project management of cross-functional teams to support and input into business development activities, including due diligence processes
  • Development, validation and negotiation of contractual structures to support the business models, including:
    Share purchase and partnership agreements
    Optimisation agreements
    Other agreements as required
  • EPC contract tendering and negotiation with battery suppliers and balance of plant contractors, ensuring ENGIE procurement validation and consideration of key legal, commercial, financial and technical issues to meet ENGIE’s internal risk standards
  • Guiding projects through grid application processes both at distribution and transmission level as required

 

Key Requirements

  • Experience in business development of industrial projects
  • Understanding of UK electricity markets and/or battery technology is an advantage
  • University degree in engineering and/or economics, or equivalent by experience
  • Skill set in project management; the administration of technical projects, planning and follow-up, budget management, contract management, purchasing etc;
  • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of power-point and excel
  • Ability to proactively work to deadlines on multiple projects concurrently
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Team player with excellent social skills and the ability to operate in a changing environment
