What You Can Expect
As the Ecological Restoration / Vegetation Management Advisor you will ensure that ecological restoration and vegetation management strategies are developed, implemented and effectively maintained across all ENGIE Renewables sites responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Keep up to date with innovation and industry best practices and acting as subject matter expert in relation to ecological restoration, vegetation management, agrivoltaics (such as sheep grazing), pollinator habitat and other related activities
  • Ensure sites remain compliant with regulatory requirements, planning consents and land lease obligations along with any other such requirements. Including the tracking and closure of consent and licensing conditions
  • Conduct ecological restoration related fieldwork, including assessment of site conditions, noxious weed mapping, storm water pollution prevention planning, auditing of restoration works and restoration monitoring to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Work closing with teams across development, construction and operations and maintenance to develop ecologically minded site restoration strategies / specifications, including seed mixes, biodiversity enhancements, monitoring protocols, and vegetation maintenance plans for use during a project’s planning, construction, and operations phases
  • Draft technical memos and reports, along with other project support materials as needed
  • Identification and assessment of suitably qualified and experienced vegetation management contractors, drafting of scopes along with the tendering, letting and day to day management of contracts
  • Communicate effectively regarding the scope and schedule of restoration and vegetation management activities to be performed, onsite along with ongoing monitoring and maintenance required by site teams
  • Assessment and approval of weed abatement treatments for use on site including pesticides and herbicides

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in restoration ecology, natural resource management, environmental science, conservation biology, or ecology. With a minimum of seven (7) years post education experience in vegetation management and/or ecological restoration
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work independently and interact professionally and respectfully with project managers, site managers, contractors, landowners, and regulatory bodies

 

Additional Details

  • This role will be based in the Houston, TX office
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically with United States and Canada 30% to visit sites, company meetings, events and training
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; ability to drive to site locations
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid passport
  • The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable working in the office or in the field in various weather conditions and terrains and have a passion for the outdoors

Compensation
Salary Range: $99,000 – $160,000 USD annually 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

The Senior Estimator is responsible for estimating Balance of Plant costs (BOP) for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Understanding construction costs is vital to the success of the project and plays a key role during all phases of project development and implementation. The Senior Estimator provides estimates and pricing information for all facets of renewable project construction. 

  • Prepare budgetary and indicative BOP construction estimates for wind, solar, and BESS projects by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
  • Develop unit pricing based on production rates and subcontractor input, and man-hour data, incorporating historical data from estimates, cost data, indexes, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, and review major equipment specifications to determine cost impacts associated with new technology
  • Interface with owner, contractor, design team, and project managers to provide cost data regarding project feasibility
  • Review third party pricing proposals for accuracy and gaps

What You’ll Bring

  • Four-year degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related construction estimating experience
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience estimating BOP costs for utility scale wind, solar, and BESS projects, with a proven track record of estimating construction project costs
  • Estimating experience with Heavy Bid and other heavy construction related estimating software, electronic cost data, e.g., RSMeans, and Microsoft Software Applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • GIS, AutoCAD, or equivalent experience

  • System Integration & Cyber Security: Manage SCADA points and controls coordination among various systems and stakeholders including: QSE, Utility, RTO/ISO, substation RTU/IED’s, revenue/check metering, PV/Wind/BESS PPC/EMS and collection system (inverters/PCS, met stations, trackers etc), internal SCADA/IT network and data aggregation systems. Support the implementation of the ENGIE Industrial Control System - Cyber Security framework and manage external engineering firms and subcontractors for project execution

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation and Controls, Electrical is preferred from an ABET- accredited university or comparable field of study, technical knowledge through demonstrated work experience with a solid understanding of Automation & Control, SCADA design for power generation plants, and/or utility systems

  • Project Execution and Coordination: Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.   • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Enforce a strong safety culture, identify, and mitigate hazards, and work with the HSE team on risk assessments and environmental procedures. Perform daily site walks and manage safety documentation
  • Team Leadership and Management: Supervise on-site teams, conduct daily briefings, assign tasks, and mentor site personnel to foster a collaborative work environment
  • Scheduling and Cost Management: Assist in developing project schedules, monitor expenditures, control costs, and provide real-time updates on key activities. Collaborate with senior management to forecast needs and implement corrective actions
  • Quality Control: Ensure construction activities meet design specifications and quality standards. Conduct quality inspections, resolve non-conformities, and document progress and milestones

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of technical training and/or related construction management experience and a minimum of 10 years related construction experience or project management

What You Can Expect

  • Support HSE database management and provides required monthly statistical reports to GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America corporate and Business Entity (BE) leadership.  Tracks the performance and progress of action plans, programs and processes
  • Conducts regular onsite training, supervision, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • As directed, leads serious incident investigations into High Potential (HiPo) incidents, including those that result in a lost time accident.  Applies Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools when conducting investigations to determine causal factors.  Identifies countermeasures to prevent recurrence and eliminate deviations from the standard
  • Provides guidance and acts as a role model for GBU HSE full time professionals, site managers, front line supervisors and general foremen in the effective implementation of the 4Ps
  • Supports design of the GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America HSE Management System in accordance with the ISO 45001 standard.  Researches new or revised OSHA regulatory requirements.  Anticipates changes and updates the 4Ps as required with follow on training for effective implementation
  • Supports development of the GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America H&S budget in collaboration with the HSE team
  • Manages the selection of third-party HSE auditors, consultants and contractors
  • Has a strong, proven track record of creating positive rapport with field personnel.  Supports and implements a communication strategy that promotes leadership engagement between management, front line supervisors, foremen, technicians / craft personnel and contractors to create a culture where HSE is a principle and not a priority
  • Supports implementation of observation programs that focus on pre-job/task activities.  Ensures the Job Safety Plan process permeates down to the granularity of the specific task assigned
  • Benchmarks the current state of safe work procedures against a “Best in Class” standard.  Orchestrates plans to close identified gaps in coordination with GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America H&S team
  • Coordinates reviews of contractor safety plans and procedures to assure their standard is equal or more stringent than GBU Renewable & Flex Power North America’s safety criteria as stipulated in the procurement Terms & Conditions.  Audits to ensure contractor H&S contractual obligations are understood and respected
  • Participates in process safety assessments on projects throughout the design phase
  • Develops and implements safe work management processes and programs including risk assessment, Lock-Out-Tag-Out and Permit to Work.

What You’ll Bring

As the Site Operations Manager for this 500 MW power plant situated near Rogers, TX, you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.
 

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the solar/storage site.
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment

What You’ll Bring
