Context:

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist works within the HR department of the Global Energy Management & Sales business unit, under the supervision of the Head of Compensation & Benefits. The Compensation & Benefits department is composed by 6 other team members, based in Belgium and France.

He/she is in charge of Compensation and Benefits initiatives & projects while ensuring the operational management of the reward processes, policies and practices contributing to attract, retain and motivate high-quality employees while enhancing GEMS as the best place to work.

Role:

  • Master the numbers to drive C&B strategy: collect, extract and consolidate and analyze HR data from multiple sources (HRIS, payroll, performance management systems, etc.) to support C&B processes and campaigns such as annual salary review, LTI campaign and employee shareholding and profit sharing plans, etc.
  • Participate to the data cleaning and data accuracy in a specific context of HRIS tool change, for the C&B processes (reward tool, payroll instructions, reward letters)
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy in close collaboration with HRIS and HR partners
  • Create monthly reporting and follow-up HR KPIs (resignation rates, promotions, off-cycle salary budgets, etc.)
  • Prepare statistical analyses and reports for the various stakeholders such as Compliance department, Compensation Committee, Management Committee, Finance department, HR group, etc.
  • Provide budgetary control of salary costs and provisions (bonus pool, standard costs, Expats...) in collaboration with Management Control and the Tax Department (Transfer Pricing)
  • Proactively call out potential overspend and savings/optimization
  • Participate in benchmarks surveys
  • Support different C&B projects (Gender index, Profit sharing, shareholding plan, individual statement reward, reward tool testing)

Hard skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR controlling in an international group
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and Microsoft pack office
  • Power BI knowledge is an asset
  • Rigorous with strong analytical mindset and detail oriented

What You’ll Bring

As our Power Congestion Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in grid modeling, analysis, and visualization of renewable generators to support power price forecasting. Role Purpose 

As the Lead Storage Optimisation, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our short-term energy storage automated trading operations. Your primary purpose will be to create, develop, improve and maintain automated trading strategies for our BESS and hydro portfolio. 

 

You will collaborate closely with traders, quants, developers and analysts to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions, thereby directly contributing to the success of our trading strategies. 

 

Last, but not least, you will own the vision of the optimiser. So you will be responsible for driving the optimiser product to the level expected by the traders, which means you will have to collaborate with IS teams (local and central) to implement the UK requirements. 

 

Main activities 

  • Work closely with traders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. In particular: 
  • Creating new optimisation strategies. 
  • Improve existing strategies. 
  • Analyse results of the strategies and to propose solutions to improve them 
  • Deploy the strategies in the cloud (AWS is a plus). 
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration.
