Als Werkstudent Wasserressourcen & Geomatik (m/w/d), arbeiten Sie in einem hochqualifizierten Team von Ingenieuren und Experten im Bereich Klima, Resilienz and Umwelt. Innerhalb unseres standortübergreifenden Teams (Bad Vilbel & Paris) bearbeiten wir die Themen Klimawandelanpassung, Wasserwirtschaft, Umwelt und Soziales im Rahmen eigenständige Projekte bzw. unterstützen Infrastrukturprojekte im Bereich Wasser (Wasserkraft, Bewässerung, Wassertransfer), Energie (Wind, PV, Stromtrassen) und Infrastruktur (Bahn, Wasserstraßen).   • Unterstützung der technischen Teams durch Übernahme eigenständiger Arbeitspakete
  • Erarbeiten und zufassende Dar- und Gegenüberstellung von technischen Herangehensweisen bei spezifischen fachlichen Fragestellungen in den Themen Hydrologie, Wasserressourcen, Datenanalyse und Geomatik

The entity from Romania is currently seeking a Renewable Energy Design Engineer. The team is involved in a wide range of different projects, both in Romania and internationally.

 

Mission

  • You provide technical and economic activities – consultancy/ design – related to large renewable energy projects, including wind farms, solar/PV installations and biomass;
  • You use computer modelling software to produce designs and energy production estimates;
  • You prepare project plans, schedules of work and cost estimates for large renewable projects;
  • You liaise with stakeholders, as investors, suppliers, contractors and other engineering and science professionals;
  • You issue Design Notes, Drafts, Specifications, Technical Specifications and Briefs, Progress Reports, etc.;
  • You issue/collaborate to the quality assurance plan of your projects;
  • You carry out site visits and evaluations for new and existing renewable energy projects;
  • You apply the technical regulations and laws relevant for the projects you are involved in;
  • You comply with and enforce compliance with the Health/Safety guidelines set out in the Project Safety Plan;
  • You receive and share the expertise with the projects teams.

Candidate’s profile

  • Engineering background (Bachelor / Master Degree), preferable in power engineering/electrical field;
  • Good knowledge of regulations and permitting related to large renewable projects;
  • Knowledge of design norms and regulations;
  • Knowledge of design and software tools dedicated to renewable projects is a plus;
  • English proficiency, good knowledge of a second language can be an advantage;
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office package;

The Opportunity:

Excellent opportunity for a Senior Mine Surveyor to join our Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project to ensure the mine environment and infrastructure are maintained, and the rehabilitation activities are undertaken in a safe and stable manner by delivering sound survey processes.

The role is accountable to the Technical Services Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide survey advice and oversight of mine stability and rehabilitation activities to ensure safety and stability.
  • Maintain and augment survey monitoring systems to support the changing geotechnical monitoring requirements
  • Manage and maintain survey data and drawing systems (aerial, u/g obs, movement etc) and IT requirements (servers, software etc)
  • Assist the delivery of rehabilitation projects with survey services, design / drawings, plant control models and data analysis
  • Undertake routine/ periodic monitoring, surveys, pick-ups and aerial (UAV) mapping
  • Coordinate survey resources and specialist services to ensure level of service is maintained, timely and accurate.
  • Maintain appropriate survey equipment and tools to deliver optimised service (UAV, ATS, GNSS etc)

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive survey experience and sound technical skills in the application of survey activities, including management of survey data, CADD / GIS applications, telemetry and data collection and storage and management of drawing and survey records.

You are action-oriented and collaborative in your approach and possess excellent communication skills. 

You have the ability to plan and self-manage workloads and conflicting demands.

Technical knowledge of survey requirements in Latrobe Valley mining environment (including survey standards, methods and instrumentation) highly regarded.

Ce vei face:

    • Elaborare soluții de inginerie pentru modificările de proiect ale sistemelor existente;
    • Coordonare activități de inginerie subcontractate cu organizațiile externe și avizarea lucrărilor acestora;
    • Bugetare execuție sisteme și supunerea spre aprobarea acestora șefului ierarhic;
    • Proiectare sisteme în limitele cerințelor de proiectare, codurilor, standardelor, autorizațiilor sau altor restricții impuse de legislația în vigoare;

Experiență, calificări, cunoștințe și abilități:

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience
  • Working knowledge of utility rate schedules
  • Solid working knowledge of HVAC and/or solar photovoltaic systems, including the ability to identify different systems and equipment, identify potential energy savings measures, and quantify the potential energy savings and costs
  • Understanding of metering and measurement tools and the data provided
  • Competency in computer modeling software programs, such as EQuest or Trane Trace, and apply them in preparing savings calculations and customer deliverables

Compensation

Funciones:

  • Evaluar y Analizar diseños de análisis de data y modelación de recursos para los proyectos eólicos, con el fin de lograr minimizar la incertidumbre de proyección de generación, incluyendo recomendaciones de ingeniería para posibles optimizaciones, considerando nuevas tecnologías y mejores prácticas del mercado que puedan representar ganancias adicionales de energía
  • Responsable de revisar los estudios o reportes de energía y/o sitios realizados por empresas/ desarrolladores externos durante auditorías de compra, con el fin de evaluar técnicamente las propuestas y determinar riesgos en la estimación de energía, proponiendo correcciones si fuese necesario
  • Evaluar y Análisis posible sitios o terrenos, con el fin de lograr identificar potenciales energéticos, diseñando campañas de medición óptima para cada sitio, considerando las recomendaciones del grupo, incluyendo revisiones costo/beneficio de diferentes tecnologías e incluyendo visitas a terreno
  • Evaluar y analizar informes y estudios de recurso energético oportunidades de proyectos greenfield/brownfield provenientes del área de Desarrollo/M&A de la compañía

What You Can Expect

The Project Coordinator, officed at our University of Iowa location, will assist Program Managers in coordinating the major activities required in project management: engineering design, procurement, construction, financial administration, commissioning and initial operations for central utility plant and distribution projects. In support of senior leadership, the Project Coordinator will serve as the local communications representative and will be jointly responsible for all stakeholder management and engagement opportunities.  This position offers multiple paths for future career opportunities including Project Management or Business Development.

In this role, you will partner with project managers to assist in delivering the reporting requirements for all phases of project development and execution, coordinate and communicate with all project stakeholders from field level to executive, and research feasibility studies, technical documentation and condition assessments to write drafts of project business justifications for the project manager to review. You coordinate with Project and Contracts Managers to frame the RFQs and RFPs, draft engineering work releases, and issuance of purchase orders and assist in the bid evaluation for design professionals, vendors and contractors.  

 

  • Track project execution for schedule and budget through the establishment of milestone dates, budget allocations and control of expenditures
  • Become responsible for scheduling design, pre-construction, and construction meetings across the Capital Projects program and for managing meeting minutes and action item completion weekly Maintain and revise the process and reporting templates for all project phases and assist the Program Manager with the close-out documentation
  • Lead small projects on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist in the coordination of senior leadership visits with the University, Capital Improvement and O&M teams
  • Engage with all stakeholders at the University of Iowa to maintain excellent relationships
  • Attend community events to network and build presence within the market

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • You should hold a Bachelor’s degree where you have gained an understanding of professional communication and are comfortable giving presentations and have gained knowledge of construction management; In lieu of a four-year degree, you should have a minimum of two years of construction management experience and previous experience giving presentations to stakeholders
  • You possess or have the desire to earn a PMP certification
  • You will be required to utilize Microsoft Office, Procore, and other project management tools to gather and organize required data
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks

What You Can Expect

As our Project Developer, you will support a broad range of pre-construction development activities on projects within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States and Canada. Your daily task will include working on all aspects of early to late-stage project development, such as local, state, and federal permitting, public and stakeholder engagement, public hearings, environmental site assessment, and project financing due diligence support. You will work closely with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, as well as pre-construction, engineering and project delivery departments, and other aspects of wind , solar and storage project development to ultimately fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America. This role offers flexibility in location, with options in either Santa Barbara, CA, Chicago, IL Denver, CO or Houston, TX.

 

The Development Associates and Project Developers will support the development team in order to:

  • Manage and actively drive development activities of utility-scale solar , wind and storage projects from feasibility to the start of construction
  • Manage all aspects of  environmental site assessment, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities in close collaboration with SMEs
  • Engage consultants, review their findings, and ensure implementation
  • Research new industry developments, tax incentives, technologies, etc.
  • Manage permit application preparation and attend public permitting hearings
  • Manage agency and AHJ submittals and interactions on local, state, and federal level
  • Develop project model underwriting assumptions in alignment with investment criteria and off-take origination efforts
  • Engage with landowners and stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the development process, including attending community engagement events
  • Maintain database tracking project progress
  • Support energy offtake, financing, and project M&A discussions and document preparation
  • Prepare investment presentation materials for ENGIE investment committees
  • Review project pro forma financial models to understand how returns are impacted

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in which you complted courses in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration or Economics
  • A minimum of two (2) years related experience, preferably in renewable energy development or other fields of project development with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement
  • You are detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue required information
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to multi-task and prioritize critical path tasks
  • You are highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with public officials and agencies
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including landowners, potential offtakers, government officials, and corporate leaders
