What You Can Expect 

As the Site Operations Manager for this 500 MW power plant situated near Rogers, TX, you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of the site. In your capacity as lead of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

 

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising four technicians and indirectly overseeing a Regional Administrator. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.
 

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the solar/storage site.
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas) as well as work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses
  • Knowledge of using equipment suitable for lifting up to 50 lbs, if necessary

  


Additional Details

  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally on limited occasions to support other sites.

Compensation  
Salary Range: $86,490 – $147,660 USD annually 

 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Purpose of the Job:

Key Accountabilities

  • Implementation of Quality Management System.
  • Prepare a standarised QA/QC plan and customise the same for each project.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting:

 

  • Regularly engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and regulatory bodies, providing updates on M&A and partnership activities.
  • Prepare and present clear, data-driven reports and presentations on market trends, M&A performance, and strategic initiatives to senior executives and other key stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments (finance, legal, operations, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of M&A transactions and partnership initiatives.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the performance of strategic initiatives and partnerships, providing regular updates and recommendations to senior management. Qualifications & Skills:

 

  • Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience in M&A, business development, or partnerships within the renewable energy sector.
  • Education: MBA or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the renewable energy sector in India, including solar, wind, storage, and related technologies.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of financial metrics, valuation techniques, deal structuring, and financial analysis.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically about business opportunities, market positioning, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Negotiation & Deal-Making: Proven ability to lead negotiations and close complex M&A deals and strategic partnerships.

About Us

We are seeking a talented and motivated Business Developer to join our Renewables GBU, Business Development team. In this role, you will support and manage the development activities of renewable projects, including onshore wind, solar PV, and BESS, in the UK and Ireland. You will be responsible for establishing strategies, managing timelines, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory changes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strategies for delivering value from renewable project sites, including commercial, planning, community, and technical strategies.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams (engineering, legal, and finance) to ensure smooth progress from project development to construction.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables related to land acquisition, environmental and socio-economic aspects of the project.
  • Engage with local, regional, and national government agencies to secure permits, licenses, and authorizations.
  • Represent the company in public meetings, forums, and consultations related to project development.
  • Manage community engagement efforts, building positive relationships with local communities and addressing concerns related to project impacts.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of environmental impact assessments (EIA) and ensure environmental viability and compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate relations with landowners, negotiating and securing land lease agreements.
  • Lead the identification and evaluation of potential sites for PV, BESS, and onshore wind projects.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to draft and formalize contracts and agreements.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Land Management, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Prior experience  in developing renewable projects in the UK, with specific experience in originating greenfield Renewable and BESS projects.
  • Experience in identifying and acquiring land, optimizing grid connections, conducting environmental assessments, and applying for planning consents.
  • Experience in originating corporate PPAs and participating in CFD auctions.
  • Knowledge of EPC contracting structures and tendering processes.
  • Understanding of capital and O&M costs linked to PV, onshore wind, and batteries.
  • Conversant with investment principles and project financing.
  • Financial modelling experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project.
  • UK Driver's Licence and ability to travel nationally and to the EU.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good understanding of Route-to-Market options, including CFDs and corporate PPAs for renewable projects.
  • Working knowledge of the UK electricity sector and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of land acquisition, grid connection, and planning consent processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, self-starter, and team player.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders across a range of disciplines.
