The Role

You'll be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, structuring, negotiating, and executing intricate transactions, as well as managing client relationships within the Australian Gas Market.

About you

  • Tertiary Qualification in Economics, Legal, Finance, or a related field

  • Articulate, with high commercial awareness and exceptional consultative skills

What You Can Expect
ENGIE North America is hiring a Battery Storage Technician for our Chillingham Solar/Storage project located near Rogers, TX.   

Your daily responsibilities begin with performing High Voltage (HV) switching, substation, and HV equipment lockouts and grounding tasks. Demonstrate the consistent use of Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques when solving plant abnormalities and equipment failures. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs. Perform routine inspections such as, prepare oil analysis samples, safely using tools (e.g hot sticks, multimeter, and IR Camera). Assist with equipment operation training for contractors and other site employees. Manage and coordinate work on-site between different contractors, vendors and BESS service providers ensuring quality work, is completed safely and promptly.

 

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • You may be required to assist solar technicians with repairing, troubleshooting, and completing technical repair work orders for solar inverters as needed
  • Actively participate in the behavior-based safety program and ensure every team member and contractor complies with all safety procedures and applicable task-oriented job safety analyses
  • Ensure site safety rules are communicated and adhered to through Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Meetings
  • Demonstrate procedural compliance in all site operation and maintenance activities by utilizing established procedures
  • Ensure site equipment is kept at the highest possible standard maximizing availability, reliability, efficiency, and profitability
  • Perform electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures
  • Perform the housekeeping functions and equipment cleaning necessary to maintain the site in a clean and neat condition
  • Recommend operating and/or maintenance changes that will enhance plant performance and availability

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED or a diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/DC current, electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in any or BESS sites, Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites, Thermal power plants, Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Instrumentation Maintenance
  • Proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems
  • Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor

Compensation

As the on-site Wind Technician II, at the Jumbo Hill Wind Site in Andrews, TX, you will operate and maintain the site by optimizing wind generation availability and performance through established procedures with the highest regard for health, safety and environment compliance. Adaptability is crucial as tasks may vary depending on operational needs and requirements. Your primary responsibilities involve troubleshooting, repairing, reconnecting, and inspecting electrical equipment, including substations and overall site performance.  At this site you will be working with high voltage energized equipment and must follow all safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) grounding and other safety precautions. Collaborating with service providers and contractors, you will oversee daily work activities, produce various reports, operate site equipment, and coordinate with local utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs) for switching and curtailments.

 

Ensuring compliance with ENGIE and regulatory agency standards, you'll conduct inspections and recurring checks on site equipment. You'll actively participate in behavior-based safety programs, enforce safety procedures, and conduct orientations and meetings to promote a safe working environment. Alongside routine inspections and serving as the main contact for landowners, you'll manage spare parts inventory, coordinate contractor work, and maintain cleanliness on-site. 
Gaining and maintaining GWO training is required, as well as participating in turbine climbing activities. You'll provide recommendations for operational and maintenance improvements, offer equipment operation training, and utilize Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques to address failures. You will work on computerized work order systems for purchase requisitions and receiving statuses.  From time to time you will be required to support other wind assets during planned outages and emergencies, potentially requiring overnight stays. Furthermore, you'll be part of an on-call rotation and must reside within 50 miles of the site to respond promptly to outages and emergencies.


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum high school diploma or a diploma in a technical program or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience and knowledge of Wind generation, Power Plant, or Substation Maintenance where you have working knowledge of industrial electrical or substation equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
  • Must have or be willing to obtain certification as substation technician within twelve (12) months of hire date

What You Can Expect

As our Auxiliary Operator, at ENGIE’s Medical Area Total Energy Plant (MATEP), you will be responsible for assisting the Watch and Assistant Watch Engineers in the operation and routine operating maintenance of steam, chilled water, and electrical generating equipment for MATEP, LLC, satellite facilities, and utility distribution system.   You will also operate equipment from local control stations and perform regular inspection tours of the plant distribution system, maintain logs, monitor instrument readings and equipment operation and perform other miscellaneous related duties assigned. 

 

You will:

  • Assist in the operation and routine operating maintenance of boilers and plant auxiliary including fuel oil, water treatment, cooling water, compressed air, chilled water, condensate and feedwater systems, and related equipment
  • Perform regular inspection tours of the plant and distribution system including underground tunnels and electrical power systems
  • Maintain logs and other operating records and advises Shift Supervisor of system problems
  • Take corrective action, obtaining advice and direction from Assistant Watch Engineers, Watch Engineers, and the Shift Supervisor, as necessary
  • Perform routine operating maintenance, including cleaning of equipment and plant work areas
  • Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

You will be reporting to the Watch Shift Supervisor

 

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Must have valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts Second Class Fireman’s License

  • Mantener registro de documentación relevante a contratos de activos renovables y manejar estándares de contratos en diferentes tecnologías.

You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. Additionally, you will handle the troubleshooting of Balance of Plant (BOP) switching, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions, and communicate with landowners and local communities.

Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising two technicians and indirectly overseeing a Regional Administrator. Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Renewables Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-site.

In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be:

  • Able to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the wind farm site
  • Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Carries out all responsibilities under environmental legislation to prevent environmental spills
  • Manages a safety program that complies with all Federal and State requirements ensuring the safe operation of the site regarding the public, employees, and equipment
  • Cooperates with internal and third parties regarding safety and regulatory compliance and responds to their recommendations in a timely manner

 

What You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma/ technical degree or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
  • Must have five (5) years’ experience in a related industry where you have experience with industrial electrical equipment, power generations, thermal generations, line, and utility scale equipment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in leadership or supervisory role of technical, operations or maintenance personnel
  • Working knowledge of wind power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
  • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space (crawl spaces, shafts, small enclosed areas) as well as work at various heights and in adverse conditions during operations, shutdowns, and in fire/emergency activities
  • Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face respirators, fall protection equipment, hardhat, safety shoes, safety glasses

 

Additional Details

  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips to support planned and forced outages at other facilities including solar sites-may require overnight stay
  • Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally on limited occasions
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record

Compensation
Salary Range: $89,100 – $120,800 USD annually 

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

Position Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will be accountable to supervise a team of maintenance technicians and support staff to fulfill the day to day mechanical maintenance activities at the power and desalination plant.  In addition to supporting the management of the major outages of the plant through the provision of a gas turbine long-term service agreement, ensuring that the plant meets Safety, Environmental, availability, reliability, efficiency, and budgetary targets.

 

Functions/ Task:             

Safety at Work

  • Ensures the compliance of IMS. Ensure a safe working environment for himself, his colleagues and contractors while working on any equipment
  • Obtains a Permit to Work for each job as necessitated by the safety and associated Procedures
  • Ensures all  Method Statements Work Instruction and Procedures are followed by himself and Contractors while undertaking any work
  • Ensures that all appropriate tools are available to ensure work can be carried out safely on equipment
  • Supervises Mechanical Technicians and Contractors to ensure Safety Rules and HSE procedures are followed
  • Reports any unsafe conditions in accordance with procedure

Maintenance Task Planning and Execution

  • Ensures maintenance tasks are completed by the Technicians as per Work Orders generated in CMMS
  • Ensures work done notes on maintenance carried out is documented in CMMS
  • Produce reports as necessary on any maintenance activity
  • Plans for and ensures that maintenance of all mechanical equipment is in accordance with OEM manuals and best practices for the equipment
  • Along with the Lead Engineer, ensures mechanical maintenance planning is correctly scheduled so that all equipment is maintained as per recommended intervals
  • Reviews Mechanical Maintenance Procedures and suggests where they can be improved

 

Equipment Failure Trouble Shooting and Repair

  • Supports the 24-hour operation by being regularly available for call-out at short notice
  • Attempts all possible means of reducing equipment downtime and ensuring high plant availability
  • Performs trouble shooting activities as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies defects found;
  • Records and reports to the Lead Engineer all rectification jobs undertaken
  • Generates reports of equipment failures
  • Performs Root Cause Analysis of Failures
  • Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with mechanical equipment.

Reporting and Planning and Budgeting

  • Discusses planned and unplanned jobs undertaken with the Lead Engineer
  • Works with the Lead Engineer for outage planning and execution
  • Assists the Lead Engineer in planning and budget preparation processes.

Spares, Consumables and Use of Tools and Equipment

  • Ensures adequate inventories of spares and consumables are maintained

Provision of technical advice:

  • Delivers technical advice to colleagues and Contractors to ensure safety and the proper execution of Plant Maintenance Practices
  • Applies engineering knowledge and skills to review and update task lists for equipment. 
  • Implements initiatives to address inconsistencies in CMMS scheduling, practices and documentation.

Staff Development:

  • Coaches Mechanical Technicians on a range of mechanical equipment, Safe Work Procedures and Operational Techniques to ensure proper execution of Plant Routines
  • Prepares and delivers Technical Training, including modules on GT & ST, alignment techniques, valves, pump repairs, compressors, dryers, HRSG component inspections and BOP plant equipment.

Frame works, Boundaries, & Decision Making Authority:

  • The jobholder operates under the general guidance of the Lead Engineer on all routine issues related to plant operations and team management
