The Role
You’ll enhance the reliability and technical availability of South Australian assets by delivering affordable engineering, asset management, and maintenance services, all while promoting safety and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate with teams at the Pelican Point Power Station and Synergen Gas Turbine facilities throughout South Australia.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or extensive experience in power industry engineering and maintenance practices including gas turbine and steam turbine plant
- In-depth expertise in managing hot gas path components of gas turbines, along with a solid grasp of power plant engineering principles and operations
- Proven experience in procurement and contract management, including drafting specifications, tender processes, negotiations, and contractor oversight
- Strong understanding of plant capabilities and component life integrity, as well as performance monitoring and control of thermal performance parameters
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills to coordinate efforts and inspire teams and ability to travel on occassion within South Australia
- Extensive project management experience, with a focus on mechanical and electrical asset management and excellent communication skills to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders
- Familiar with electricity industry regulations and capable of conducting audits and writing clear recommendation reports as well as knowledgeable about the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and provide guidance. Expert in planning and organizing to effectively manage tasks and priorities
- Construction Industry Induction ‘White Card’ or willingness to obtain a white card
